Does anyone know how the pieces are stored in the box? Are they in bags, tubs, I'm guessing tan wedges will have a bag to themselves? Also has anyone done a review yet or planning to do one? Edit: When my order arrives I will take pictures when unboxing and post images, if no one has done so by then. Hopefully I will get a review done soon afterwards.

Just ordered it from lego shop @ home, got £15 discount with VIP points Now I just need to find some space to build it

Thank you for the review. Looks like a great set, although I can't decide whether to get it or not at the moment. And going by current conversion rates, it seems the US is getting it around £70 cheaper than the UK (Lego Shop prices)

I like how you've smoothed out some of surfaces, it makes a much better contrast between rough and smooth. I also like the added colour, it adds something more to the model as a whole. When taking your photos avoid using the flash, at the moment there are a lot of shadows, instead set your camera up on a tripod, use more lighting and try out some longer shutter speeds on your camera. Sorry if you know this already But a great MOC

I agree it's unlikely that there will be an sets, but yes I can't wait to see what MOCs people will come up with. I'm keeping my eye on the game and what information comes out and I'll have an attempt at a model soon.

I think the attack on the Jedi Temple would make a great MOC, a damaged spaceship lying in the ruins of the main entrance, surrounded by fighting Sith and Jedi Also, I agree that a series based on The Old Republic is unlikely, but we can always hope

With Star Wars: The Old Republic being released within a year's time (hopefully ) do you think that there will be any Lego sets released based around the game or the Old Republic period? At the moment lots of information has yet to be released, but they have recently unveiled starships and so far have put up information about two of them LINK a Corellian Defender-Class Light Corvette and Fury-Class Imperial Interceptor. They both have 360 degree views, pictures and a video with views of interior and exterior, so I thought I may have a go at building one of them, at the moment I think I'll try the Defender, as the sides could have some good greebling and I like the look of the large engines on the back. So what do you think of Old Republic sets and will you build any models based on the game or have you already?
-
After a lot of thought and working out how much space I have, I've decided to go with several of these LINK and also a large drawer container for large plates and bricks. Now comes the actual sorting

Lots of great photos in this thread and I haven't looked through all of them yet I recently bought a pop out lighting cube to photograph my models in, but I've only photographed one model so far, as I'm sorting my bricks and haven't had time. With the model I did photograph I had to improvise with the lighting, I ended up using a couple of torches on stacks of books

I managed to get a UCS AT-ST for lower than the RRP retail price on ebay and I just finished building it yesterday. It's definitely is a display model only, but I think it looks great and I had lots of fun building it.

Great review I got this set just over a week ago and I will probably build it within the next few days, so I'll give my full opinion of it then. Quick question, what are the rules on reviewing a model, is there a thread on it?
-
Some great photos Do you think this will be the biggest 2x model, seeing as the towers are the same/ very similar? I can see it now, just finished building the first tower and then you spot the 2x

I received this set just under a week ago, but I'm still in the process of sorting my Lego collection, so at the moment I haven't been able to build it It did flick through the instruction book and does look a fun build and great looking model from the pictures I've seen.

Why aren't there more UK Lego shops?
Adam the Ant replied to jm28cardiff's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I know 44 sounds a lot for one country, but that's still less than one per state and a lot of US states are larger or similar in size to the UK, so I think we have a pretty good deal, of course I wouldn't say no to more I would say it's worse for countries that don't have one at all, especially if there is a big market for it there. -
Great review and it's a wonderfully detailed looking set. I've recently managed to buy it for a good price, so I'm just waiting on it to arrive and once I've built it I'll give my opinion.

Amazon are currently selling 6754: Family Home for £39, and that set nearly has 1000 pieces! Very good for tan bricks and red roof tiles.

Thank you. Originally there was a lot more grey pieces, because I wasn't able to find the pieces I needed in the right colours And thank you to the other people who have commented. At the moment I am not working on a new model, as I've finally decided I need to sort my Lego pieces, they're currently in several large boxes only separated by colour and I really don't want to spend more than half the build looking for pieces like I did for this design.

That's a lot of mesh Looking forward to seeing it complete.

Argos are selling the Technic Crane Truck for £94.99, down from £129.98 LINK

That's a great scene, with some nice broken glass effects, good work
-
Well I'm off out tomorrow to look around the DIY stores, hopefully it should give me some idea of what I need
-
Looks great, but at that price there is no way I'm going to get it. Maybe if I got hold of the instructions I would be able to build it from the pieces I have
-
I don't have enough space to display too many models, as an avid reader lots of shelves are taken up by books, so I'm very selective on what I display. What I would do to live in house where there was a basement, but they've never seemed to catch on here in the UK Maybe if I can ever afford to build my own house, I'll make sure it has one
-
What sort of size would you recommend? At the moment I guess I have around 30-35k pieces, but I don't have a lot of space for storage.

So after being a complete newb and posting a whole new topic I'm now posting in the correct place. So the idea originally was to buy quite a few of these and some larger containers for bricks and large plates. But then I spotted THIS so I guess need to go out to actually see some of these items, so I get an idea of what I need, but I will look through this thread and see if there is anything better.
