  1. Hi, Last year I designed a 16mm Lego Scale Narrow Gauge Steam Locomotive which was capable of running on 32mm track, around last August I designed a 16mm Scale Lego 4 Coach which can be pulled by the 16mm Lego Scale Narrow Gauge Locomotive. By May this year I had all the parts I needed to build the 16mm Scale Coach including the metal buffers from Brandbright and the XL Driving Wheels from Big Ben Bricks. The next couple of photos show the 16mm Scale Lego 4 Wheel Coach being pulled by the 16mm Scale Lego Lady Anne Narrow Gauge Steam Locomotive on Peco SM32 Track. The Black buffers are made by Brandbright, A online shop which cater for the 16mm scale. I found out since I finished building the 16mm Scale Lego 4 Wheel Coach, that Brandbright have retired, currently I am trying to find another make of 16mm scale center buffer with the hook for the next coach.
  2. Hi, early this year I built my Lego LSWR Adams Radial EKR No 5 Steam Locomotive, the Steam Locomotive is based on the East Kent Railway Steam Locomotive No 5 and is 34 studs long, 8 studs wide and 10 bricks high, and with the SR Goods Van the Locomotive and Goods van is 53 studs long when coupled up. The East Kent Railway Steam Locomotive No 5 was a LSWR 415 Class 4-4-2T Steam Locomotive designed by William Adams and introduced to service on the LSWR (London and South Western Railway) in 1882 and was purchased from the Ministry of Munitions Disposal and Liquidation Commission in March 1923. The Steam Locomotive stayed on the East Kent Railway until March 1946 when the Southern Railway purchased her for £120 for the Lyme Regis branch where two of her sisters had kept services going for over 20 years and is now at Sheffield Park on the Bluebell Railway awaiting restoration. Due to the LSWR Class 415 4-4-2T having no tender or my model not long enough or deeper and wider boiler to hide the Lego Power Functions Battery Box and IR Receiver, I decided to build a SR 10 Ton Goods Van to house Lego Power Functions Battery Box and IR Receiver. The last couple of photos are of my Lego LSWR Adams Radial EKR No 5 Steam Locomotive next to my 16mm Scale Lego Lady Anne Steam Locomotive The Url below is video footage of me testing the Lego LSWR Adam Radial EKR No 5 Steam Locomotive to make sure the locomotive would run, for the test the Lego Steam Locomotive was built in white.
  3. I don't know why Lego doesn't sell packs of straights, but if you want more straights, stores on Bricklink.com sell it, they have over 8000 pieces , url is http://www.bricklink.com/search.asp?colorID=85&itemID=64722, and there is also ME Models which sell custom Lego Train Track with wider radius in R56, R72, R88 and R104 Radius (Standard Lego Curves are R40 Radius) the webpage address is http://www.me-models.com/store/index.php?cPath=22_57_59&osCsid=a1k52p106tp4acm1go751n0r41 for their plastic track, you do have to assemble it and it is the same color as Lego RC Train Track.
  4. you need Part x37 Rubber Belt Medium, available on Bricklink.com Url is http://www.bricklink.com/search.asp?colorID=5&itemID=3322, they fit the Lego Large Drivers quite easily, I use them on my Lego EKR No 5 Adams Radial 4-4-2ST Steam Locomotive, I never had a problem, and if they wear out, they can be replaced quite easily due to the amount Bricklink.com has (37,333 in stock).
  5. I hope you enjoy building them, it's just as expensive to build your own creations, over the last month I have spent £595 on building my own mocs which include1 Steam Locomotive based on the LSWR Class 415 Adam Radial 4-4-2 Steam Locomotive, 1 10 Ton Goods Van based on SR 10 Ton Goods Van, 1 bogie coach based on LBSCR 48 Ft Bogie Coach, 2 Platform end modules for my preserved SR Railway Station (each module is 35 studs long), 1 Train Station Master Mini Figure, and enough parts to make 25 Custom Minifigures and 100 pieces of Lego for future mocs, plus 16 straight RC Train Track and 16 curves RC Train Track, luckily halve of the cost was combined xmas money and birthday money.
  6. If you have the room, you could always buy ME Models Wide radius Track (from R56 to R104, R56,R72,R88,R104) as standard Lego Curves are R40 in Radius and good luck on building your steam locomotive
  7. A nice Switch Box 'Sava', the detail is just excellent.
  8. Nice collection of Lego Sets, I prefer to design and build my own mocs including any buildings like a engine shed.
  9. I got the dimensions wrong, it is 672 studs wide (210 inches / 17.5 Foot), 1344 studs long (420 inches / 35 foot), due getting the size right, i am making it smaller, but if at some point in the future I hsve the minimum space of 20 ft by 40 ft and enough funds to support I will build the second plan.
  10. I will add some runaround loops to each storage yard with a area to turn the locomotive around and add a forth siding to the coal & passenger storage yard, as for the passenger trains one would be starting from the station while the second passenger train would be in one of three / four storage tracks waiting its turn to go down the line once the line is clear and the other passenger train has arrived in the storage area. As for the coal train, the empty coal wagon would be stored on the coal train storage yard waiting for the coal train to come down from the coal and passenger storage yard with full coal wagons (as if the coal train was coming from Tilmanstone Colliery (which was beyond Eythorne which was beyond Golgotha Tunnel), a distance of 2.5 miles), once the coal train had pulled into the coal train storage, the steam locomotive would be decoupled from the full coal wagons and coupled up to empty coal wagon and would pull the empty coal wagons back to the coal and passenger storage yard (returning them to Tilmanstone Colliery). the full and empty coal wagons would be swapped over by hand to enable the next coal train to be ready. I am currently alter the Bluebrick railway plan. Another thing with this Lego Model Railway, if I have more money and more space in the future I could extend the Lego Model Railway to include Eythorne EKR Railway Station and the junction to Tilmanstone Collery and the main line to Wingham and Port Richborough.
  11. The Lego Model Railway will be 100 % Lego and will sit on custom baseboard unit I will get built. The Lego model railway will a end to end, with a station at one end and a tunnel at the other end, which beyond the tunnel will be a storage yard for two trains, while the station is currently going to be the one shown in my post - http://www.eurobrick...howtopic=106448 . The Lego Model railway will also have a engine shed and turntable to turn the steam locomotive, at the moment I am still designing the turntable module in LDD, to see what the Lego Model Railway will look like, see my post - http://www.eurobrick...howtopic=107170
  12. Hi, I have designed a Lego Model Railway and is based on the East Kent Railway and covers the Shepherds Well Station area to the area around Golgotha Tunnel and the curved main line connection, the plan was done in BlueBrick Software and edited in MS Paint (added text labels) Plan of the East Kent Railway Lego Model Railway. I plan to building the East Kent Railway Lego Model Railway starting later this year depending on how much cash I have, it will also be long term project. The Lego model railway is based on the East Kent Railway and covers the Shepherds Well Station area to the area around Golgotha Tunnel and the curved main line connection, including the Engine Shed and Turntable (in reality the East Kent Railway did not have a turntable), it will include a Headshunt and Run-around loop (In reality the East Kent Railway did not have a Headshunt and a Run-around loop) carriages were propelled or pushed into the station sidings by the Steam Locomotive and it was up to the guardsman to stop the carriages). I will be running both passenger trains and coal trains, this will include two passenger trains and two coal trains (one empty, and one full). The size of the Lego Model Railway is 192 studs wide (60 Inches) by 384 studs long (120 Inches). I already have built a Lego Steam Locomotive and some rolling stock, the locomotive is a Lego version of the EKR no 5 Adams Radial 4-4-2 Steam Locomotive and the rolling stock is based on the SR 10 Ton Goods Van and the LBSCR 48 Ft Bogie Coaches and started ordering the parts to make the platform end modules. The wide Radius Curves will be ME Models R104 and R88 Curves. I update the plan to include loops on both storage yards.
  13. That's a nice model, quite detailed, how many pieces did you use.
  14. I decided to build the Lego Model railway using 100% Lego, I've already designed the station modules, and have built a new Lego steam locomotive and some rolling stock. it will be a long term project, the Lego model railway will be based on a local railway in Kent in UK, the railway is known as the East Kent Railway which currently runs from Shepherdswell nr Dover to Eythorn, a distance of 2.5 miles but it used to run to Wingham and Sandwich, there was a junction at Eastry, the line was over 10 miles long. 15. As I am in the planning stages of my future Lego Model Railway, I was wondering what is the best method of building a Lego Model Railway. Two methods come to mind 1. follow what Bricktrix (Carl Greatrix) has done with his Lego Model railway i.e. all the structures, track, trains, people are made out of Lego parts and the ballast is scenic ballast as used by model railway, and the scenic areas are done by traditional scenic materials. 2. Build a Lego Model railway 100% out of Lego Model Railway i.e. all the structures, track, trains, people, scenic areas, track ballast are made out of Lego parts. So what do you think is the best method for building a Lego Model Railway.
  16. As TF Twitch had a concern with the pilot truck on the locomotive, I have built the model, and ran it around the oval of track I have got, it manages to navigate the curves quite well, the pilot truck is based on the Lego Emerald Night Steam Locomotive. currently the Lego EKR No 5 Steam Locomotive is black and white (still waiting for the alcohol wipes so I can clean and prepare the white Lego for Vinyl Dying.
  17. Once the train 2x3 glass and the green headlight arrives I will take some photos of the coach in both versions.
  18. I had a thought, years ago Lego used to sell box set of bricks, plates, slopes, windows and other parts in different colors, Lego could introduce a range of parts sets which could include Train Windows (2x3 and 3x4) and the train glass inserts, the train wheels, train buffer with magnets and curved slopes, the train windows and train glass inserts could be sold in batches of 8 or 16, and have colors like green, white, tan, red, and black plus other colors like dark red (could be used to make a maroon colored coach. If Lego was to do this, it would allow a AFOL to build his or her own custom train coaches and hopefully at a lower price, it would be a welcomed move by me as I have just built my first LBSCR 48ft Bogie Coach which was quite expansive due to the train windows and train glass inserts and the other parts like the train wheels and bogie plates and would allow me to build some more.
  19. A interesting model, it must have taken you a while to design and build it.
  20. I hope that Lego do bring out a Lego Creator Train Set with luck it may be out just before Christmas 2015
  21. That's a nice locomotive you have built
  22. I've Built the goods van which contains the Lego Power Functions AAA Battery box and IR Receiver, hopefully this week I will start on the locomotive, sorting the pieces for dyeing
  23. I've built the coach, Just waiting for some more parts to arrive so I can finish the model to finish the model
  24. the parts to build one coach have been ordered last week but still waiting for them to arrive
  25. Starting next week I will be starting to prepare my white parts for dyeing with the TRG Green Vinyl Dye Plastic Paint Aerosol 150ml from VinyldyeUK
