  1. Another option is to reduce the size of the inner loop, and add extra 'half loop' to the outer line, which would allow a third train to be parked there. Does that leave too little space for scenery and buildings? It looks better for train "playability" but worse to grow the whole piece into a more interesting and life-like diorama. What do you think? PS: I'm only using PF trains.
  2. I'm new here, and I'm new with 'modern' Lego trains -- my previous bout was with 4.5v circa 1988 -- and I've browsed through all layout threads and most pictures available online. My space is 4' x 6', or 48" by 72", and I cannot really go further at the moment without moving to another home I want to run two trains concurrently, so my starting point is two nested loops with crossover -- I plan to cut the switches as suggested in other threads. The attached layout has also a small yard, and should have enough space "inside" for some decent city scenery, as well as a station with two lines running relatively close to each other. Is it too boring or plain? What else would you do with this space?
  3. really fantastic. I enjoyed a lot the moc itself but also the photographic story! now you should find an illustrator to turn your pictures into a comic book, which of course would be sold in the same store....
  4. Are the things hanging from the roof on top of the minifigs panels with signs about incoming trains? I.e. which train is arriving to the current platform. Or are they oversized lights? the picture is a bit fuzzy..
  5. It took me three evenings to build it, but it is fantastic! Yes, the piano doesn't stay put, and the dining room chairs fly all over the place when opening and closing the house..I guess it's time for some modifications over the weekend. I've just started with Lego after three decades, it's been a blast!
  6. Hello, everybody, I have just left a thirty years-long dark age and I'm happily in possession again of Lego and Lego train and thoroughly enjoying it! I am already thankful to some of you for many useful posts I've read in the past two weeks. This forum is phenomenal! In my previous life, in a different continent, I had 'rescued' parts of a 4.5v blue-rails set from a swap-meet (possibly set 181, with almost no pieces for the locomotive..), and added a few gray tracks, the Crane Wagon, and the railroad crossing. I had no money or space for a proper motorized layout, but lots of time and fantasy for MOCs of small locomotives and train cars. Lots of fun. All those are stowed away across an ocean and a continent. Now I've restarted with the Cargo Train 7939 and I'm awaiting delivery of the Horizon Express. Lego is a beautiful thing! Afol and proud, MusicaRibelle
