LEGO Star Wars 2017 Pictures and Rumors
Phoenix__Phyre replied to Stash2Sixx's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Looking at the minifigure selection for the Landspeeder, what are the chances of 3PO having "battle damage" printing from the Tusken Raiders pulling him to bits? Or, at the extreme end of things, him only having one arm? 3PO's already in a fairly cheap set this year that'll still be available next year, so if someone wanted a 'whole' 3PO, it wouldn't be impossible to get. And thinking about 3PO's mismatched legs, is it possible to do dual moulding on just one minifigure leg, and still print on the two pieces together? -

Looking at the rumoured set with Obi-Wan, Qui-Gon and Maul, I'm disappointed that they haven't included Padmé as well. It's not unheard of for LEGO to include minifigures in a set that they don't exactly belong in, but in this case it wouldn't be so strange, as the scene that Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon start their duel with Maul in also includes Padmé. I understand that LEGO can't saturate all their sets with dozens of minifigs, but for a protagonist who appears in three films and wears more costumes than any other Star Wars character, there are awfully few Padmé minifigures. It only took a month for Leia to be released in a set after TFA, but it took 11 years after AotC before Padmé was seen in a set and there's never even been a RotS set with Padmé (Although we have half a dozen Jedi Interceptors). It just doesn't feel right. -

I have a feeling that the Inquisitor included with Rex's AT-TE will be the Fifth Brother, as he appears at the end of the episode that the walker is featured in. With that in mind, if the rumours are true, then we can expect the Seventh Sister in the set with Ahsoka. Unless Ahsoka is in the A-wing set, and it actually is A-wing (Would TLG include two of the same ship in the same wave?) My thinking is, the only time we ever see the Seventh Sister and Ahsoka in the same scene is their fight on Takobo in the episode where they rescue the force sensitive babies. At the end of the fight, a group of Imperial Troop Transports surround Ahsoka, although she escapes. Is it possible that the set Ahsoka is going to be in will be an Imperial Troop Transport? It's a vehicle that's been featured in several epsiodes of Rebels. And to hike the price up I'm sure they'll include something like the door Ahsoka makes her big entrance through and/or the pillar that the Seventh Sister gets thrown against. I could be entirely wrong, and the A-wing set is an A-wing, (She does pilot one in the show, coincidentally in the same episode) but it seems weird to have to variants of the same ship in a single wave. Ahsoka is also seen on the Phoenix Squadron Command Ship, but that seems like it would be quite large, (Unless they did something like the Mon Calamari Home One set). Also the Seventh Sister has a personal TIE Fighter, but it looks similar/identical to the one the Grand Inquisitor uses, so I doubt they'd make that set again so soon. Then there is the transport where the Seventh Sister kidnaps one of the children and that Ahsoka later boards, but it seems too obscure a ship to be easily recognised. Again, I'm only speculating, and I'll probably be proven wrong within the next couple of weeks, but I just wanted to share my reasoning with everybody. Thoughts? -

While reading this discussion of Darth Revan, I have formulated my own theory. Darth Revan is, as most of you have pointed out, a character from the TOR/KOTOR Video Games (I can't remember which one sorry) while Mara Jade and Thrawn are from a 20 year old book series and are "Outdated". Someone said that Darth Revan could have been included in a TOR LEGO set that was cancelled, so they decided to reuse the minifigure for a promotional release. My theory, based on the one above, is that the can't release Mara Jade as a promotional minifigure because she wouldn't stay promotional for long. With the release of Ep. VII which is apparently set 20 years after Ep. VI, it is possible that Mara Jade may be in the movie. Because of this maybe TLG has been told not to release a Mara Jade minifigure because she can/will be released in a future LEGO set. I don't know how TLG decides to make what sets, but I'm sure there is some degree of control owned by Disney/LucasFilms where they can dictate what movies sets have to be based off and what characters should be included etc. -

In my post I was referring to the fact that we got those two sets along with the UCS Ewok Village, despite none of the 3 being revealed at toy fair. Also in 2012 we got Palpatine's Arrest and Pre Vizsla's Mandalorian Fighter, although we did see the Mandalorian Fighter at Toy Fair it was preliminary and the Minifigures were stand-ins -

It would seem that a couple of posts stating that this years 2nd UCS set is the Slave I, have made some die hard fans of the UCS Falcon very unhappy. Personally I have no strong feelings towards either , but I must question the credibility of these facts/rumours. The past few years have taught us that the LEGO Group releases two UCS every year, the Sand Crawler being one of them for 2014. Earlier when it was decided that the second set was the Millennium Falcon everyone was rejoicing and complaining without a second thought. Now that another rumour has come out saying that a UCS Slave I is coming our way, people are doing the same thing. Is it possible that both rumours are false and the unknown UCS set is exactly that, unknown? Nether rumour has had any links to any credible sources (to my knowledge, correct me if I'm wrong) or to any pictures. Also, could it be possible that the Millennium Falcon and Slave I rumours refer to System Scale sets, not UCS Scale sets? On a side note, we still have 2 unknown sets to look forward to (excluding the UCS set) Every year two exclusive sets are released after the Summer wave. Perhaps these two sets may include a final tribute to the Clone Wars and the remaining revealed cast of Star Wars Rebels. -

If we look at half of the sets the LEGO Group has ever made for the Star Wars theme, we can see that they will include minifigures in sets that they belong in. If you give me an hour I could make a list of them all, if anyone is interested. -

I don't think it's strange that they're releasing another UCS Millennium Falcon in 2015. The first Millennium Falcon LEGO set ever made was released in 2000 and the next one after that cam in 2004, 4 years later. The UCS Millennium Falcon was released 3 years after the 2007 one. The last Millennium Falcon was released in 2011, 4 years after the UCS version. Looking at this it would seem that, since its first appearance, the Millennium Falcon has been re-released in LEGO form, on average, at least every 4 years. 4 years from 2011 is 2015 and in 2015 it would have been 8 years since the release of the UCS Falcon. I don't think it's too soon for a new update or re-release of such an iconic ship and set. While the LEGO group doesn't always follow patterns, in many ways they have been predictable in the past. For example from 2008 to 2012 a new Clone Wars Jedi Starfighter was released every single year, leading me to believe that another was to be released in 2013. I can't say I wasn't disappointed when my dreams of a Kit Fisto's Jedi Starfighter set being made were crushed. (Note that I only included Minifigure Scale or System Scale Sets in my Millennium Falcon release Analysis) -

Does anyone have any indication on what the back of Vader's new head will look like? If you remember from ESB, Darth Vader's helmet is being place on his head from within that chamber/pod thing, one of the Imperial Officers (I can't remember which one sorry) saw him. Before the helmet covered his head you could see flesh as if part of his head was missing. Could this be included as back printing on the head or would it be too "Gruesome" for a younger LEGO audience. -

To work out the prices of LEGO sets in New Zealand I just double to US price. Although the New Zealand dollar isn't exactly double the US dollar that's how it works. LEGO sets in Australia are then about 5-10 dollars less after that. Hope this helps. Also look at brickpedia at sets and see the US price and Australian price. From there you can determine what the price while be by comparing the two sets. -

Sorry I couldn't reply to you earlier than this. As I live in New Zealand I only look at online stores that sell LEGO that are based in New Zealand. Also the LEGO sets sold in New Zealand are the "European" boxes that don't have the piece count and warnings on the front of the box. The sets are ready for preorder but won't be coming until the 24th of February, just after the second Toy Fair. Whether or not the US will get the sets earlier than this or not I do not know. I can't say New Zealand is focusing too much on the LEGO Movie a I haven't seen any LEGO Movie sets available in New Zealand in stores or online. Usually New Zealand gets the sets in February but most of the time the US has already got them by now. Sorry I couldn't reply to you earlier than this. While much of this Topic is focused now on the new sets that have been revealed at Toy Fair, I do have some news regarding the Summer Wave (Southern Hemisphere) of LEGO Star Wars sets. For those of you who follow this Topic and are from New Zealand you can find all of the new Star Wars sets (except for the Droid Tri-fighter and the Coruscant Police Gunship) at Toyco. All of the sets are available as pre-orders and are expected to be delivered/arrive on the 24th of February. All new sets available for pre-order are 20% off. I think the absence of the Tri-fighter and the Gunship tells us that they are most definitely store exclusives. Hope this helps some of you and here is the link to Toyco http://www.toyco.co.nz/product/LEGO-Star-Wars-75040-General-Grievous-Wheel-Bike?i=5702015121187 -

I personally don't get the Advent Calendars because where I live they're never in store and I can't find them for a reasonable pric online so I pass on those sets. Reading that you're convinced that the Santa Trooper is a Phase II Clone Trooper, I find myself not as convinced as you. Although the first half of this year was and is heavily based of Ep. III RotS filled with many Phase II Clones, I don't think that will be the figure. Looking at last years Ep. II AotC based Calendar you can see that it was released/revealed with all the other Ep. II sets. This years calendar will e released along with several Original Trilogy Sets. I think that the Santa Trooper will either be a Stormtrooper or a Snow Trooper to go along with the Imperial themed or Hoth themed sets that we are expected to get later this year. While the Cantina is an Ep. IV set it is certain that the Snowspeeder, AT-AT and ISD will most definitely be from ESB. I think I Santa Hat wearing Snow trooper would be quite fitting. -

In summary we know that the Minifigures in the Cantina set are: - Bith (3x or 2x & Figrin Dann) - Han Solo - Luke Skywalker - Obi-Wan Kenobi - Stormtrooper - Greedo (Not Confirmed but Likely) If the 2+ NEW MINIFIGURES statement on preliminary catalogue was referring to the Cantina set, then I believe that Greedo is 1 new figure and the 3 Biths are the other one as they are all the same/identical. In that case the other 4 figures are not new and/or updated. While Luke, Han and the Stormtrooper have fairly recent designs that would work well with this set, It would be neat to see a double sided face or leg printing on the Obi-Wan figure that we last saw in 2011's Millennium Falcon. People can disagree with me on this but I think it is likely that The LEGO Group won't be releasing a Cantina with 8 new and/or redesigned figures. What does everyone else think? -

FBTB has just released a report on the Star Wars sets at the London Toy Fair. They've said that the Cantina comes with 3 Bith Minifiugres. This is the link to the full article with details for some of the other sets as well. http://www.fbtb.net/2014/01/21/uk-london-toy-fair-2014-a-brief-report/ I guess we will have to wait a few more years to get Ponda Baba, Dr. Evazan and Wuher, Unless the LEGO Group is kind enough to release an add on set next year. -

I still think that the 2 NEW MINIFIGURES are for the Cantina set as people disputing this have listed several other sets the figures are referring to rather than a single set. Is it possible that the 2 new figures refer to 2 minifigures that have never been released in physical form in the history of LEGO Star Wars? This could mean that Greedo isn't classed as a NEW minifigures as he has been made before in an earlier Cantina set. -
LEGO Star Wars 2014 Pictures and Rumors
Phoenix__Phyre replied to Erdbeereis's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I don't think the LEGO Group will have any problems making the Cantina set or any specific minifigures because of Alcohol Abuse, Violence, or Drug Use. In The Hobbit set 79004 Barrel Escape the two Elven minifigures are supposed to be watching the Dwarves in the cells but get so drunk on wine they fall asleep. One of the minifigures even has a second face to portray a druken stupor. In the set 9516 Jabba's Palace Jabba the Hutt is smoking on a Hookah Pipe with a Slave/Sex Dancer sitting on his throne. Also in the set 75005 Rancor Pit the Rancor is designed to be able to eat or grab the minifigures. While I'm sure there are several more examples of Violence, Alcohol and Drugs in licenced themed LEGO sets my point is that the Cantina set and the minifigures within it can be made despite the more adult themes it represents or shows us in the films. While I'm sure someone will argue with this I think I'm right. TLG has had no problem making sets that portray bad activities or themes, so they should have no problem doing it again. The only problems I've heard the LEGO company having in the past is that the Bionicle theme insulted the Maori people of New Zealand and that 9516 Jabba's Palace was to be removed from shelves because it insulted the people of Turkey for religious reasons. -

Looking at this discussion as people are talking about what variant of Luke Skywalker we might be getting with the new Visual Encyclopedia I have one question, what Medical Robe from ESB are you talking about? Are talking about the white robe he wears after the bacta tank after the wampa attack, or the robe he wears on the Rebel Medical Frigate after his hand has been cut off? And is it just me or does Luke get hurt a lot in the 3 OT trilogy movies, more so than any other character? -

Pablo94, on 16 January 2014 - 09:03 AM, said: The Ghost - size of Jedi Defender set, lokks like it will be lite, but it's just preliminary, includes 4 minifigs one of which seems to be Twi'lek As much as I'd love the "Twi'lek" minifigure to be Ahsoka as this confirms her appearances in the Rebels tv show, Ahsoka isn't a Twi'lek, she is in fact a member of the Togruta species from the planet Shili, not the Twi'leks from Ryloth. I'm sure that the Twi'lek minifigure is in fact a Twi'lek and will probably be one of the "Rebels" in the show. If you watch Star Wars enough times include the PT, OT and the CW you'll find that Twi'leks are probably the most common species in the galaxy apart from humans. I'd love for it to be Ahsoka as that means we'll being seeing more of her outside of the Clone Wars, however I stay by my original thought that it can't be her as the figure shown in the pictures is the wrong species from Ahsoka. -

After looking at Ebay myself I found a Link to a Greedo minifigure that looks different from the one released in the original Cantina set. However the head looks identical the Rodian head used by Onaconda Farr and the printing and colours on the torso and legs looks sharper and darker. I think this might be a custom and I also don't know if it is the same one that ChiefPie saw. Here is the Link: http://www.ebay.com/...=item5d4826c7a3 EDIT: The Seller of this minifigure also sells several other minifigures which appear to be very well made customs. I'm now certain that this Greedo is also a custom minifigure.
