Thank you very much. I will try this in a bit. Although the crane idea is a great idea; it's for an interactive mini fig scale German U-Boat. I needed your mindstorm solution for the dive planes and periscopes motors... EDIT ..just downloaded it and tried. It's exactly what I wanted. Thank you very much for your help! I shall sing songs of praise about Phoxtane today...

I'm using the PC to program the block. I'm assuming this is probably a simple program but I'm about 10 seconds from launching my laptop through the window. Here is what I'm trying to do. 1. At the press of the touch sensor I want the motor to turn unlimited. 2. At the release of the touch sensor I want the motor to stop. 3. At the press of the touch sensor I want the motor to turn unlimited the opposite way of step 1. 4. At the release of the touch sensor I want the motor to stop. 5. Back to step 1. I want to slam my head into the wall I'm so frustrated...

Today's music was entire albums: The Kinks' Low Budget, The Cars' Candy-O, and Warren Zeavon's Excitable Boy. I think today's musicians could learn a thing or two about putting out a complete album with no duds....

Love this! Very well done!

I hope somebody could help me out on this question before I go out and spend a bunch of money... Can I hook power functions motors up to the Mindstorms NXT block? If so, can I then use the push button sensor to control them (IE: push once to turn on/push again to shut off)? If they are compatible do the power functions motors program the same as the mindstorm motors? Thanks for any help.

Congrats! Very well deserved! Loved everything about your display

Once again had a super time. Got a little bored at opening ceremonies - but I really don't have an idea to make them more exciting (a set reveal would be cool). I may have been tired after driving for 8 hours... Incredible creations by everyone! Cant say that i have a favorite...they were all that good. Are the power points from the classes available? Would love to see a few that I missed.. So excited at the prospects of moving to a larger facility. I'm already working on expanding my u-boat drydock as with a larger area I won't feel bad about taking up more space..

nebraska replied to DaleDVM's topic in Brickworld
Anyone make a reservation at the Westin on Wed and can't make it ? I was able to bug out of work a day early and was looking to add a night but the Westin says they are booked on Wednesday and can't add me until they have a cancellation... ....but everything is packed up and ready to go. -
Very nice. One thing that came to my mind when I saw this was 'Run! Go! Get to da choppa!'

No problem. Just follow my posts on mocpages and you'll get the idea. Expect to order tons of tiles, 1x and 2x plates, 14 and 10 stud long technic bricks, along with # 3,4,5 technic connectors. I probably won't have an update until late June..

Hello! I would love to make instructions for my type viic U-Boat and use the LDD program to design instructions it so everyone can see...except I have no patience and would rather start putting bricks together. As far as the colors; the exterior is the dark blue/light blue gray tiles. If you are building an interior; it's pretty straight forward and I have many pictures on my flickr or mocpages accounts that show fairly good details. The good news is there is another.... I'm currently working on a type IXC U-Boat; the U-505 which is currently on display at Chicago's Museum of Science and Industry. I'm dedicating myself to doing a better job of documenting the building process and have a little lesson in curved hull building on my mocpages account under the WIP of the U-505. It will be a fully enclosed hull and not a cutaway but will have the mindstorms motors powering the propellers, dive planes, periscopes, torpedo doors, etc. Expect to see the U-595 and U-505 at Brickworld 2013 (but not the dock unless I buy a cargo van or a trailer). mocpages: http://mocpages.com/moc.php/320792 Here are some shots of the U-505 conning tower full flickr account: http://www.flickr.com/photos/51492892@N02/ If you have any specific questions; don't hesitate to send me a PM. MOC: LEGO Mini Fig Scale Worl War 2 German Schnellboot
nebraska replied to nebraska's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Sorry guys I didn't see anyone had responded. Yes this is coming to Brickworld 2012 - Chicago as "Schnellboot in Action!" Thanks for everyone's kind words and here is some newer shots of just the boat. I don't have any new ones 'in the water' as it's a bit of a pain for clean up :). The hull interior wasn't going to work. I had to use some rubber bands to help hold the cigar shape hull together which really got in the way of my interior. Plus the access holes on the deck were going to hurt the boat structurally. The control room is complete though but doesn't photograph well. -
A very beautiful design of the base. Love love love the buildings and your style. The fence is masterful along with the crane. I love everything about this. You have inspired me sir!

Here is a Lego Minifig scale German World War 2 S-6 Schnellboot. Just need to add a few more details to 'Schnellboot in Action!' but thought I'd post a few pictures. Need to add the crew, lifelites, and a few interior details. The whole hull is present including the 3 props and rudders (I'll try to upload those pictures to flickr tonight or tomorrow). I also noticed a few other details have changed since I took those photos; a black round tile is now in the tube giving it the impression that it's dark and long. I also have changed the 'hinges' of the torpedo tubes to all white. I'll get some more pics posted soon..

Brickworld Chicago 2012 Registration is Open
nebraska replied to BrickworldBryan's topic in Brickworld
.....anyone else getting excited? I've been watching the clock since preorders opened wishing June would hurry up and get here. -
Hey guys, I recently took a dive into the mindstorms world. Does the rechargeable battery pack allow the NXT to stay connected to a wall outlet while in use so I maintain a constant source of power? Or does the power cord have to be disconnected to put the batteries back on the NXT? If it does have to be disconnected and run on batteries alone is there any after market power sources that allows a constant flow of power? Thanks for any help.

Absolutely stunning! I may have to use some of these techniques! Very well done!

...I don't like sellers with such low feedback for a high profile item. Please use caution..

I have an additional thought for Brickworld 2012 and it has nothing to do with space. Two words: Open Bar Westin has a pretty nice bar area and I think we should open it up on Wed. after opening cermonies. It would be a great chance to unwind before being wound up. It would provide a wonderful setting to sit down and get to know fellow AFOL while enjoying a adult beverage. I'd pay up for a keg to start off as long as Westin doesn't overcharge. Maybe at 1:00 am have a building contest and see how AFOL's do while being a bit tipsy...
