Hoang Anh, nice to meet another new guy, I arrived recently and have yet to go on my first quest. perhaps we can band together, we would be well matched. A trip to the fields of glory just fell through. but with a well matched group, perhaps we can petition the hall to still let us go. however we would need at least another, well matched to us, to stand a chance. <beardy grin>

<arrives from the hall> and walks to the first exhibit and upon finding something of intererst begins making notes. upon seeing the rockling doing the rounds with deep heavy footsteps and tectonic sounding movement approach, greetings you must be the curator, I'm given to understand that the items on display are replicas for informative purposes. But is the information on the maps and suchlike accurate, i'm interested in the knowledge the items give rather then the items themselves.

theres a computer version on the heroica website. I've slowly built up a complete set including the rare ganrash set. but yes, i feel that once you've played each set (or even as you play the first sets) you need to create a bit of the narrative for yourself. plus i've bought in extra pieces from another game, including a princess and a female barbarian. but theres also pirates and a glowing purple skeleton out there.

so yesterday me and a mate and a young man in my care played fortaan. we played as monsters fighting a castle of heroes. the plot being we were heroes cursed to appear as monsters. our objective was to get to the king (previously rescued at nathuz) who had a crystal that could change us back. the young man played as the prince (cursed to be an ork for the duration) he has both mental and physical disabilities and can only use one arm with great dexterity. he can therefore roll the dice fine but we had to guess direction from other gestures which are less certain. the prince had only one 'no damage this attack' potion and i didn't expect him to survive the game, we had suspended the just knocked out rules. when he was close to death near the end the young man gave us a gesture that we felt meant keep pressing forward. he then rolled a shield getting him through a locked door that neither i nor my friend could follow through as we had no key. the prince then confronted his father alone and won the game with a single health point left. i had no idea it would happen and it was insanely fun. ballsy gaming and powerful story telling. For the rest of the night he kept signing winner at me while grinning.

Behold my image and let your mind's eye be rested. please note most my very deadly looking broomstick and my ruby ready to deal out some devastating magic. the um.. bed roll and healing potion are strapped to my back of course, ready as I am to travel. Ah that bottle of 'embalmers old peculiar' was quite delicious. I shouldn't drink to much or it'll unbalance my humors slowing me greatly for my first quest. ooc: anyone know when the fields sign up closes? all i can find is that its open for the time being. thanks.

i seem to be the topic of conversation, <chuckles> i will eventually gain experience , strength, better armour... but i also do not wish to burden you. If the fields are a fruitfull place of treasures or coin then i propose. buy me some health potions or some armour and i will pay you back with interest of ten per cent. if ye be willing. as unpalletable as being a borrower be. if that or another solution be impossible i would consider standing down.
