  1. Thank you so much for the information, Klaus-Dieter! I think that another Police theme is great, but I am beyond excited for the return of a Space Port-esque theme! Space Port was a BIG part of my childhood that I cherished, because it helped me aspire to become an astronaut for a short period of time. It really motivated my interest in space overall, and to hear about its return puts me into an excitement too great for words. I cannot wait to feel that nostalgia once again, and that treasured curiosity. There is not a feeling like it. And dr_spock, I was a very avid collector of Police when I was younger, and had the same insecurities about a potentially over-sized police force. So I decided that instead of expanding my town to accomodate such a force, I made it into a high-security launch facility. Good times
  2. Thank you for your outstanding review, dr_spock! As a kid I used to be a BIG space shuttle fan, but for some odd reason I was not as thrilled when this set came out a couple of months ago. However, your review and input of this set has rekindled my passion for the LEGO shuttle, and I am now left encouraged to purchase this set. First time review? Holy smokes. You are skilled Thank you a ton!!
  3. Dave, I really admire this intricate MOC The well-detailed minifigures gives this scene a lot of realism, and the ship is adjacent to what I would picture a "future cargo shuttle". Overall, very well-executed and I think that this is a great success! Beautiful!

    Dawn of Tron

Rook, I absolutely love your Light Bike concept! It pays an excellent homage to TRON and it gets me even more excited for the sequel! I'm a conformist!!
  5. thire5, I applaud this excellent remake. I have never before seen such a well-executed homage to an old set, and I think you are one of the only MOCists that can truly bring out the energy and impression of these classic themes. From the distinct stance of the detailed robotic arms, to the beautifully updated trans-crimson cockpit, this update really captures the spirit of Spyrius. I especially love the returning circuit-console thingy It must be exciting to know that you have built this fantastic rendition! Brilliant work my friend!
  6. I'm an American myself, and although I have carried a great fascination for American light-rails, passenger trains and city transit liners even to this day, I have to say that I favor European designs, because of their sleekness.
  7. The curvature in this Cement Hopper is wonderful! It is adjacent of real ones! Great colors, great design, amazing details!
  8. I am truly out of words. Despite how simple the concept is, that itself is one of the most ingenious creations I have ever seen. It is almost Cyber Punk in nature, as I can see a Steam Punk artist with the same concept! I truly love the design of the wheel and it's function to transport the vehicle; I can see this mode of exploration being used (though not on coarse or rocky planet surfaces ), like a possible breakthrough in transportation or in an Arthur C. Clarke novel. Brilliant concept and creation, my friend
  9. I personally do not think that there is a best Sci Fi sub-theme, only because each one has had their own unique style, pieces and concept. If I were to choose the best, it would be the greatest sub-theme in terms of set count, diversity and originality, and we all know that Classic Space is one of the top candidates for that title. However, if I were to choose my own 'best' themes, they would include Insectoids, Life on Mars, Space Port and Rock Raiders. I know that may seem like way too many, and way too strange of a choice, but the main reason I choose such themes is because of the nostalgic value and fond memories they have given me. They were a main pillar of my childhood imagination in LEGO, and no recent or classic theme beginning to find their way into my collection has given me that same sentimental feeling in that great of a scale.
  10. I really like this concept for an aerial vehicle! It reminds me of the airship in Rush's music video for their new song 'Caravan'. My favorite details are the Imperial flag (including the redcoats themselves), the propeller and exhaust tubes, and the incorporation of the Adventurers' dirigible itself! This is a truly unique MOC and it is also quite simplistic! It looks very swooshable and it has a big "English expedition" appeal! I like it, a LOT!
  11. That is a very sleek and well executed design that screams "BLACKTRON!" I just love the octagonal-cockpit you used, reminiscent of the Blacktron II windshields, and especially the minifigure piloting it! His black SP3 Commando helmet is quite impressive... and I never would have thought of that idea! The various translucent details are perfect, and I adore the engines and spoiler you used: because of these attachments, I can see a score of these blending into the sky highways of Astro City waiting to incur... Brilliant MOC
  12. I must agree with Black Rabbit, Galidor was a terrible theme! But I think that it falls under Action Figures... As for a Sci-Fi System theme... I would have to go with either Mars Mission or Insectoids. I was an avid collector of Mars Mission, but the storyline was very predictable, and the sets were often bland and repetitive of earlier themes. It based its setting completely after Life on Mars, and the alien minifigures in the first wave were terrible (despite that awesome glow-in-the-dark feature...) Insectoids, while very innovative and different as far as a Space theme goes, were released during an unfortunate time when LEGO was over-juniorizing their sets and outfitting them with large pieces (including the sound brick). Though yet, Insectoids also remains one of my most cherished themes because of its sentimental value, and the concept of an alien-bug-cyborg race using insect-like starships and mobile bases... what an amazing concept captured during one of TLG's most inevitable eras! Don't get me wrong, I have loved every LEGO Space theme released dearly, but if I had to choose from the 'worst', well, that is all I can think of.
  13. I really love that little set up you have there- it really executes the "small town" feel perfectly Having grown up in one, I can say that your MOC is somewhat nostalgic. I love the way you used the gold domes on the Burberry™ Store, not to mention all of the translucent window blocks!! In all, this is a beautiful MOC and you are quite talented! Great work!
  14. I think that the pirate minifigs from the past were a lot more diverse; for example the Islanders, conquistadors, French and English militants, governors and pirates in general. The pirate minifigs of today however, are a lot more detailed. Though I have not had printing problems on my modern pirate minifigs, I have heard of a lot of issues regarding printing and brick quality in the new wave.
  15. That is a very stellar City You managed to fit so much detail into it, and it looks very bustling in some areas! It also looks very nice from all angles, and I hope that you continue to add onto it! My favorite features are the Wind Tower in the center of the city, and I also love the Atlantis minifig you have standing in front of the theatre! Very, very nice City!

    City 2010

I really like that light-rail in the Public Transportation set! The windscreen is very adjacent of a real one. I just wish that it came with some non-electric track, but perhaps it can be outfitted with train wheels to fit on a rail In all, these are great looking sets, and it may get me back into City!
  17. I believe that in Life on Mars both the humans and Martians were on good terms, despite the latter Mars Mission theme... If Space Police III continues into 2011 (which is entirely possible, but not traditional), I would like to see civilians of the Astro City world... and the introduction of human baddies is always welcomed in my book I do love all of the Insectoid references within this theme, and while I was skeptical about Craniac being one at first, he is slowly growing on me... there is even an Insectoid logo on his back!! I just hope that another classic theme is revamped next year, or makes a cameo just as Blacktron, Insectoids and M-Tron (kinda) has!
  18. Bonaparte, I would like to join Reviewers Academy
  19. I really, REALLY love how you used the fire in this MOC Not to mention, the stone formations you used in the side gives this Cathedral a very natural, edifice-like feel, which I also love! It is very powerful. I also like the neat details at the rear of the building, it is all so neatly and well done!! Great job, Wowplayer!
  20. I really like your usage of the 2nd gen Power Miner helmets! I was waiting for someone to use them for MOC minifigs! I also really like the backpack the Sergeant wears! The only minor suggestion I would give is to outfit the soldiers with more armor, or equipment. They look a little bare with only their uniforms on... though you may have a reason for this, such as futuristic protective poly-fiber suits or something crazy like that! I really like the color matching code you have going on as well! Very slick!
  21. My God... it's full of green! The immense grandeur of this display cannot be put into words. Never before have I seen a MOC that shouts "industrial" so well... nor uses Power Functions any more ingeniously! The imagination put into this creation gives me hope that LEGO has endless possibilities... brilliant work Legohaulic and Nannan Z!! Wow!!
  22. The monument reminds me of Trafalgar Square! I just love every detail about this masterpiece Stellar work, kris!
  23. I'm not going to lie; some of the details in this MOC beats the LEGO street building sets by a long run I especially love the rooms in the attic/roof! Glorious work, Teddy!
  24. Space Police shopping and Toy Story 3! What a night it will be :)

  25. The rocket pods pay a wonderful homage to Ice Planet's beloved play feature But that is a fraction of how awesome I think this mech is. Beastly!
