LDD 4.2.5 is out
MattTheLegoman replied to Superkalle's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
As it has been said before, the new LDD is great for designing and experimenting because of the wider selection of bricks in the normal menu. (Less time spent looking for the right piece compared to Extended mode. But hide colour first.) -
LDD 4.2.5 is out
MattTheLegoman replied to Superkalle's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
So all that is needed is to make a template for this new brick. We need to 'think outside the brick. -
Awesome Wolf's Head. Perhaps you could add the Witch-king? In the book it was the combined damage of the Witch-king's spell and Grond that brought down the steel gates of Minas Tirith.

You say it is Modular? When you put up the lxf can I create some buildings in your style to add to the town? It could be the next Market Street.
-
Yes it is a shame. This Megablocks must be handled with care because it is very fragile. What about a change this dodgy topic into a conversion of the sets into LEGO?

With this gear. But they do not connect in LDD. -
Just two pictures of the old Megablocks Western. I remember I joined this forum when Klaus-Dieter posted this MOC Post Office and I instantly recognised the similarity. And I will show the insides of the buildings next week.

I consider this of interest to Train Tech I call it the Retro Ghan, I have no idea what model it is. Reference taken from this picture taken by my dad in an Adelaide Museum.

I'm excited about an Architecture set for Australia. Have there been any other similar sets for Australia? -
Eurobrick's 4th LDD RCB
MattTheLegoman replied to Piratedave84's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
Totally agreed, this model is going to be awesome! Has anyone actually decided to buy one of these RCBs in real LEGO? -
Just an idea popping up from the fact that we all would love for LEGO to make giant Lord of the Rings sets. I propose a minifig scale modular Rivendell, and to start off here are a few designs from LEGO Digital Designer. Download the LXFs and look at the models. Then post your own parts of Rivendell. To make it compatible just keep the bases a multiple of the 4x6 plate. And modules that need joining together have the technic brick and pin joining them. I have a very specific colour scheme that I use but don’t worry about being limited by it. Brown – Earth Orange; Gold – Reddish Gold; Glass – Tr. Blue;Green – Earth Green; Stone – Dark, Med, Light Stone Grey; Dirt – Sand Yellow,Metallic Sand Yellow; Blue – Sand Blue, Earth Blue Council of Elrond Module MtL This module has been based on my old LEGO LotR set idea for the Council of Elrond. I will not include LDD minifigs as we will be seeing them soon for real. module. Rivendell Pavilion Module MtL Just a simple design, I would like to see better done on this one. The actual pavilion walkway will has bends/curves in it and a very fancy design for the roof, I wonder if that can be done? Rivendell Curved Module MtL Perfectly Minifig sized and compact, this piece of Rivendell architecture is inspired by the front hall. Valley Cliff Module MtL These can add height to the Rivendell Modules (although I still need to make its dimensions compatible with the Modules). The brick colours can be changed to make a simple waterfall. Also as an extra here is the Grey Havens, based from LEGO Herorica game.

LDD 5, what features do YOU want?
MattTheLegoman replied to BasOne's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
Just don't worry about the start-up screen. Find your model on the computer and open using LDD. EG C:\Users\MattTheLegoman\Documents\My Games\LEGO Creations\Models My gripe for LDD4 is the brick sorting. A few extra dividers in LDD5 for the minifig stuff EG animal parts, hand held, minifig hairstyles, foliage, would be beneficial. -
Eurobricks' 3rd LDD RCB
MattTheLegoman replied to Brickdoctor's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
Relay Community Builders here should cast their vote on the next one, even if they plan not to join. http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=55248&st=60&gopid=1088725entry1088725 -
Eurobricks' 3rd LDD RCB
MattTheLegoman replied to Brickdoctor's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
Pure Awesomeness, I do hope the Eurobricks will do plenty more in the future! Here's to that! So glad to be a part of it! The construction site was a brilliant idea, Pie. Classic Space has never looked this good, all it needs are some of the old space ships. One idea that floated around was a second build onto this to expand (either space ships +/- docking, outside landscaping???) -
Castle, Space, Town House. All that is left is I guess City and Pirates. But whatever it is RCB4 will be great, however I think the same rules about production pieces and colours should hold. Larger builds would limit those with slower computers, but perhaps those with their super computers could do the joining together? Just a suggestion.

Yeah, I sort of wish I had specifically finished off Hangar 3. But the amount and variety of buildings we have is spectacular! -

And also, that is the coolest Botany Laboratory, and the Local Newspaper is great! We have some of the best and most excellent builders for this! With my contribution (turn 10 - the tower with the shuttle coming out), there is still a gap in the back (could be filled in, but anything else is possible (including another shuttle)). There are also other buildings that can do with some gap fillings (I think the command centre, hangar 3, and the launch pad building) - use your spare bricks (if you have any). I can't wait until it is finished. What is the status of continuing this build once the 3rd Community build is finished. (I don't want to build but I will be excitedly following it just like this one.) -

Bricklink, I forgot about checking there. Regardless, but I wanted a blue one for my idea for the roof of Hangar 2, but there isn't any. <div><br></div><div>P.S. and I decided not to build a roof.</div> -

Gah! I meant find it on Peeron. Sorry for the misconception. It is only in Extended Mode (not in Universe). Perhaps it is a new brick coming soon? Regardless I didn't end up using it or needing it. -

Currently I have made an interesting quick transport from a tower to the HANGAR.But I need a ladder going down from the roof. Here is what I have changed -1 brick -1 brick 1 brick moved +1 brick +1 brick I will not be changing anything else that other people have made. The change allows me to add the ladder. P.S. As I am working on this build I have found that: Black is Security Red is Pilots White is Explorer Yellow ? (4 doing nothing) Blue ? (1 Blue is piloting a vehicle near the command module) I also think that you should not feel like you have to conform to this colour of suits. (All the people in the station would be highly trained in everything space) P.P.S. I can't seem to use this brick on Peeron: 91501 (search for it in LDD Extended Mode) So I suppose I will find something else to use P.P.P.S. Finished -

Trans-Neon Green = interesting and awesome colour choice. BtW I am back from StormCo, and am ready to start my addition (to be completed by tomorrow). I will see if I can compliment the Neon Green.
