Strange behaiver op part 4735 - Robot arm. The alignment of the clip is not correct. If you click it onto a bar, it is not straight. Angle is not 90° If you connect it between 2 bars, the second bar is not vertical. Still it is possible to put several 4735 parts on top of each other. The clip end moves into the bar. If you connect it between 2 bars which are fixed, it is still possible to put several 4735 parts on the bars I wanted to make a panthograph, but the top bar is not aligned. Still LDD4 accepted it. Error 001 - part 4735. LXF

LDD internet access
private_lego replied to Andrew Harvey's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
Yes this is a typical router-firewall problem. The good thing is that I have made a copy op LDD3, before upgrading to LDD4, on my computer and blocked it to access the internet. This way it remains LDD3 and can not upgrade to LDD4. And my second LDD is now upgraded to LDD4. Handy when you come in trouble with files in LDD4 -
Outline of bricks is not available on my old computer. The option is gray and can't be selected. I use an Pentium D 3.0GHz processor and a Geforce 7650GS graphical card. LDD4 on it self works perfect. Another strange thing: on my old computer the Universe mode was activated on the first start of the program, without changing any ini-files. Probably it remembered this mode was activated in LDD3

IMPORTANT - Removed bricks in 4.0
private_lego replied to Superkalle's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
LDD4 should have a build in routine which replaces the old design numbers with the new ones, instead of just delete them. This would solve a lot of problems and frustrations -
IMPORTANT - Removed bricks in 4.0
private_lego replied to Superkalle's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
I hoped that they wouldn't remove any more bricks. Just for the loading older models without error messages -
How is the LEGuanO connected to the PF elements? Do you have a shematic of pictures?

Lpub help needed

Can you post your file which has the problem. It is rather difficult to guess the problem or give a solution -
First sneek peak at LDD 4.0
private_lego replied to Superkalle's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
This is odd indeed. Still I can't wait to try the new version -
I just hope that when such a club would be raised, it would be available to everyone. Now days there are a lot of things, like brickmaster, which are only available in parts of the world. Even the free lego magazine is only available in the UK, the Netherlands & Germany. Not in Belgium, which is a neighbour country.

How did you connect the 2 middle wheels? They must move a lot at the curves.

Lego Universe (the game) and LDD
private_lego replied to Superkalle's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
If I understand you correctly, you want the bricks to fall down if you remove the supporting bricks below? Or even make MOC's fall over if they are not in balance? This will be a challenge to get this in the program. I don't know any program with this function. -
All the train companies had their own cars, types & colours. Now there are European firms who rent rolling stock (engines and/or freight cars). The train companies rent these when they need them, so you find the same cars all over europe. If there is a difference, it is only a logo or so. A lot of independent train companies are present now. These are bound to a country. Some have only engines and some ride only 1 line, such as chemical transport between 2 chemical factories. Chem4Rail companie Most companies use the Class 66 diesel Common electrical engines are Traxx & Siemens Taurus

Simple animations using LDD
private_lego replied to JopieK's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
Group transformation is really necessary to make something move. Suppose you want a car take a turn, and you have to move all bricks one by one, along a curved path. If this works, then we are one step closer to animation. Let's find out. Tried it and failed. Changed the numbers after pivot = No result Changed the numbers after transformation = No result or error : file could not be loaded. When you rotate or move a group in LDD the numbers doens't change. Anyone ?? -
Simple animations using LDD
private_lego replied to JopieK's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
This is possible, using en excel to calculate all the parameters and manual bring them to the file, step by step. In povray you can define your formula and let the program do the calculations. I have made a movie a few years ago, with a college, and several computer where rendering for days. With 15 frames per second, you can make 1 second worth of animation in 1 hour or so in LDD. A 10 minute movie would take 600 hours ?!. And there is no option for background, lightning and scenes with several movements together. -
Simple animations using LDD
private_lego replied to JopieK's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
It would be nice to be able to use animations like in Povray or Blender. As far as I know, there are no programs to create a povray file out of a LXF. The only way now is by using LDraw as converter. But then some bricks are missing. Stop motion is nice, but take a lot of time. Complex movements are very difficult to create. -
Making of... Circus Arena
private_lego replied to Bojan Pavsic's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
Nice of you to reveal the building secrets after your beautifull MOC. The 1500 2500 (oops) brick limit is indeed very low when building on large scale. -
Actualy only one paantograph is up at any time. The second one is spare, mostly used for driving in the other direction. More panthographs mean more different power voltage possibilities to drive from one country to another in europe. Each pantograph is connected with a different trafo to convert the power to useable voltage. the Netherland 1.5Kv = / Belgium 3.0KV / France 25Kv Voltage list countries

[KEY TOPIC] LDD feature requests
private_lego replied to Superkalle's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
Possibility to add complete LDD MOC's to another MOC. I use this function all the time in LDraw to create large MOC's from a large archive. This has the advantage that if you change the added MOC, it is also change in the other file. You only add the link to the new MOC, not all the bricks Now with LDD you can only paste into your new MOC. -

[KEY TOPIC] LDD feature requests
private_lego replied to Superkalle's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
It can be more cost effective, but should only be an option (suggestion), not an automated operation when uploading. Sometimes is done to create a line motive on the MOC. Also it is not always possible to exchange the bricks. 2 1x4 plates have other connection options than a 2x4 plate. -
This is not a problem with LDD alone. The same copy behaver is going on for years now in LDraw & other programs. A lot a people post only pictures, and will send you the file on request. Some people make a business of it If you want to be sure that your work isn't copied at all, don't post it on any site. The credits work among adult, but not with kids.
