[KEY TOPIC] Wanted bricks in LDD
private_lego replied to Superkalle's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
Just for setimental reasons and to be able to build the old 600 series. Brick 1 x 4 with Car Grille Pattern Brick 1 x 4 with White Legoland Logo Pattern And some wheels offcourse It is unlikely it will happen, but one can only dream. The option to add own patterns would be the best. Possibly create an editor in which you can make the prints and then must send them to TLC for approval. -
Brick Lettering in LDD
private_lego replied to Mr. Lego-builder's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
All the letters with diagonal lines are very hard to make. You must choose between slopes (and gaps) or not smooth. Also I sure it is impossible to build the angled tile in the middle in LDD. The best solution is make names without a N or M -

Make a solid connection with the 1x1 headlight brick (backside) Letter problem.lxf -
Stealing ? => sharing sounds better. Your updated version with the unofficial parts is in my post. The idea of posting 2 versions, with or without unofficial parts, sounds good. So everybody can choose what he wants. 7128 set with unofficial parts

Do you have MLCad installed on your computer? Are the ldr/mpd files connected to the MLCad program? If not take an MLCad file, right mouse button > open with > choose MLCad & option "always open with". If MLCad is not in the list, choose at the bottem "choose program" and go to the MLCad.exe program. Now it should open with MLCad. Your open option is now set to wordpad or another text editor.

LDD Statistics at Eurobricks
private_lego replied to Superkalle's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
Very impressive. Although it will be hard to get higher in ranking than TLC -
Boundry error with element 4727 Flower stalk It is impossible to place 2 elements next to each other. When you turn the brick 45° it is possible, but then they merge into each other slightly Placement error with element 6255 Leaves 3 elements It is impossible to place the element in the middle of 4 studs. Only at the studs.

True, this is more a balancing test. I always used boxes of sugar or salt. Nice compact, easy to use and in different sizes (0.25 up to 1kg) A bridge has past the test, for me, when it can hold 3 kg on its weakest point for one hour. This is about double the weight of a loc and 2 large MOC cars. My largest bridge so far was a 96 studs span, build out of only 1x4 plates. http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=962208

You can measure it on the tracks with a standard meter. It ia about 1.5V voltage step / click on the controller (4548). Meaning 0 - 1.5V - 3.0V - 4.5V - 6.0V - 7.5V - 9.0V. With more than one motor on track it is slightly lower.

Help Please! Prefab Baseplate vs. Building
private_lego replied to Fuzzylegobricks's topic in LEGO Train Tech
I never use the standard train baseplates. The are always too small or too large or the wrong colour. I always use standard plates with a 2x6 technic plate for connecting the bodie plate to the body of the train. -
Nice lay-out

LDD Community Build?
private_lego replied to Superkalle's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
1. Is the most structured solution. In this way you can controle the flow and prevent that the project dies quickly. Mail with read acknowledgement. 2. Should also work with a small group 3. Will be chaotic. But as an experiment it is worth to try it as a second line, and see what will be the result compared to option 1. Create a seperate file for each step by adding a number after the file name. This way nothing gets lost and you can see it grow. Possibly start more than one line. A free theme and fixed themes Put a deadline for building to prevent that it take weeks. Lets say 3 days. That should be enough for 50 or 100 bricks Build in standard or Universal mode? I want to participate in this adventure. -
Boundry error of element 74784. When building a bogie for my train, I used 72587 (small antenna). It should be able to rotate until it nearly touches the wheels. Apparently the boundries of the wheels 74784 are to big, so the antenna can't get close enough. The colours are fake to improve vision. Error 004 - part 74784.lxf

In LDD3 it was possible to shuffle around with element 6019, and to create impossible combinations with misplaced bricks. See bottom misplace brick. This bug is fixed in LDD4, but if you load the old file into LDD4 the brick is not removed as it should. Another new bug is the placement of a tile (element 3069). It moves into the stud of the neighbour element. See top Error 003 - Part 3069 LXF
