  1. Hey everyone! I am looking for a little help. I have been collecting older LEGO magazines, but am missing a few. I am purchasing as many as I can find through Bricklink, eBay, etc., and downloading scans of others, but there are some I haven't been able to find. Does anyone have scans of the following (or know where scans might be located online)? Bricks 'n Pieces: Spring 1990, Autumn 1990, Summer 1991, Autumn 1991, Mar/Apr 1998, May/Jun 1998, Aug 1998, Oct/Nov 1998, Jun 1999, Jan 2000 Adventures (UK): Apr 1999, May 1999, Jul 1999, and all issues from Mar 2000 through Jan 2002 (except for Issues 15, 18 and 19, which I own) World Club (UK): All except Sep/Oct 2001 I appreciate any and all help!
  2. Well said! I have the same feelings about Warm/Pearl Gold: It works for some pieces, but not for others. Although the horse armor uses it (which I really like the design of, by the way) It looks like the king's crown is using a different material. I'm guessing it is Metallic Gold, because it is more shiny than Warm/Pearl Gold, but not as shiny as Chrome Gold. This will be a new color for the crown that we haven't previously had.
  3. I completely agree. The dragon faction armor with red sleeves reminds me somewhat of the Fright Knights' soldiers (which was always one of my favorite castle subthemes). Seeing these figures up close makes me like them even more!
  4. I, for one, am excited for this line! I assumed LotR would replace the standard castle themes as long as it ran. I'm glad I was wrong! I am looking forward to the new molds that will be introduced in this series (those wonderful corner pieces), and I really like the look of the new flags. The color schemes really work for me; I like the inclusion of brown with the medium and dark bley and blue accenting pieces. I don't see why people are complaining so much about the lion emblem. Like Aanchir said a few pages back, I think it looks better than the lion from the Royal Knights/KK1 lines. I will reserve judgment on the dragon shields until I get a better and closer look at them. The basic design is similar to other castles, but that is nothing new. Look how similar some of the castles from the '80s are to each other, yet we classic castle fans still love them. I definitely agree with this, however. It has been a long time since we had a raised baseplate, and I honestly miss them. (Not that I want every set to start having them, but including them every once in a while definitely helps to keep things exciting!) Having collected nearly every castle set produced for 25 years or so, I can say that all the over-reactions I am reading on this forum are quite silly. (There is a lot of negativity, with very little constructive commenting. If you are going to complain, please also include some specific suggestions as to what you would have done differently, and use specific examples. This helps both TLG and LEGO fans alike know what in the world you are talking about.) For some reason (maybe it is the negativity that pervades our culture) there are some people who are completely ignoring all the awesome things about this line, and are focusing ad nauseum on a couple things that they have a negative opinion about. Be grateful, people! We are getting (long-awaited) LotR sets, AND a brand new castle line with new minifigs, new prints and new pieces in the SAME year! I am eagerly anticipating the release of all these new sets!
  5. 6956 Stellar Recon Voyager [M-Tron, 1990] LDR File Errors: None Notes: For some reason POV-Ray rendered some of the magnet casings as being red instead of black. The LDraw file has the correct color for those pieces. I'm too new to the world of rendering to know why POV-Ray made that change. If someone knows what is going on here, I will be happy to re-render and add the updated picture. 6989 Mega Core Magnetizer [M-Tron, 1990] LDR File Errors: 3x Minifig Tool Hose Nozzle with Handle with Black String (194cx2) not available, subbed Minifig Tool Hose Nozzle with Handle (4210a)
  6. 6923 Particle Ionizer [M-Tron, 1990] LDR File Errors: None
  7. Sounds like a fun contest! I would like to book sets # 6923, 6956 and 6989. I will probably have more later, but I will post about those once I finish these three.

  10. I like this topic! Sorry if my battle pack is bird heavy, but I've long thought we need a greater variety of birds. Jaguar (5 points) Turtle (3 points) Albatross (3 points) Seagull x2 (2 points) Toucan (1 point)
  11. Sorry...I'm a little confused about the use of "Architecture" in the Category B contest. Does the architecture have to be from one of the official LEGO Architecture sets? And if not, does it have to be based on another easily recognizable "real world" building, or is any building we choose suitable? Thanks for the clarification, and sorry about the confusion!
  12. I have a quick question. Hopefully I am not repeating a previous question, but I read through this troubleshooting forum and didn't see this problem described anywhere. Is there an issue with the most recent version of LDD that causes severe lag? It doesn't seem to matter if I am working with 5 bricks or 5,000. It doesn't happen all the time; I notice it most frequently when I am trying to drag a brick from the palette to the workspace. Closing the brick palette seems to get rid of the lag, but it is annoying to have to keep closing and reopening it. I also notice the lag when I am using the color palette sometimes. I have reduced all the video settings to provide the least strain on my computer, but that shouldn't be a problem because my computer is plenty powerful and my drivers are all up to date. I'm just wondering if others have experienced this problem as well.
  13. These are a few of the parts I would like to see. They are mostly Bionicle/Exo-Force parts, but the ones at the top are more general and are ones I would definitely like to have included! 4784 2046 41672 424 55767 47459 47460 47461 47462 47463 50623 50624 50625 50626 50627 54171 54175 54178 47314 47335 32551 44790 50858 47298 44350 44351 I would also like to see many more printed parts, but especially the following: 4444pb03 4444p03 4444p06 4444pb01 4444p02 4444p05 4444pb04 4444p01 4444p04 2345p01 2345p44 2345pb01 2345pb02 2345pb05 2345pb06
  14. I know...I am just hoping they will have some reason (perhaps because of usage in LU) to make an exception, kind of like they have for dozens and dozens of other bricks we now have access to, which are also not in production anymore. In the interview you referenced, that possibility is raised. Also, one other piece (also older and not in production anymore) that I hope makes the cut is the smallest version of the wagon wheel (part 2470):
  15. First, I am ecstatic about all the new pieces released in LDD 4.0! So, thank you to all the developers, etc., at TLG who made this possible! There are a few pieces I would love to see make it into future releases, however. These are all old pieces, so I guess I shouldn't set my hopes too high. I would love to see the following: All the old hinge plates (pre-click-hinge era) like 4275, 4276, etc.: These guys were so much more versatile (albeit weaker and more prone to wear) than the newer click hinges. Also, the old rope bridge and the old stairs from many pirate and castle sets (parts 2549, 2046 and 4784): If only these five made it I would be happy. If I could request more, some of the specialized weapons from ExoForce and from KKII (large figures) would be nice (I mean...as long as more Bionicle pieces are added, these might be as well).
