  1. Small update without any pictures (I'll have them up tomorrow for you). Finally I removed the Switch track from behind the FB and replaced it with some flex track which has plates on to keep it straight. It looks a lot better and gives more room behind the modulars. Still no sign of the sets and I'm beginning to get a bit frustrated with the order . With a bit of luck it will arrive tomorrow. And I really hope it does because I've spent the last couple of days just sitting there looking at my city wondering what else I can add to help improve it, but with out those new sets I think that's impossible.
  2. Oh no I didn't make that video, I don't even own the set yet I just found it on YouTube and I thought I'd post it as it might be useful for some people.
  3. Just love these new Emoticons. My favorite has to be ,and . When ever I see this one > I keep thinking he is licking up some water rather than drooling
  4. We finally had a thunder storm in the east midlands today We haven't had a decent storm in ages. The one thing I love about when it's been raining after a hot day is this. It may be weird but I love it. I hope we have more thunder soon.
  5. Here's a video of the pet shop being built -
  6. Thank you for the kind comments . I got the wind turbine from S@H (It's not available anymore but I'm sure if you want it it's probably still available at some stores) A block of flats would be interesting in the city but I'm really lacking windows and doors at the moment. I'll have a go at building one sometime in the future when I have more pieces and time to build bigger MOC's The transparent plate was from the 10184 town plan or the 10216 bakery. Sadly the order hasn't arrived so hopefully they WILL actually arrive soon and if they don't I'll just continue to add more and more things to the city
  7. My previous name was 'the red brick' but now it's changed to yellow. This time it's not because I have to many yellow bricks it's just because It feels and sounds better with the word yellow.
  8. Looking nice LT. Heres an idea, why not build a car park for the shopping centre ? You could build a small ticket office or ticket machines (we have them here in england, not sure about Australia ) Anyway keep up the great progress. Can't wait for it to be finished.
  9. Hmm I don't seem to have them. I wonder if there just for certain ranks . Anyway they look awesome. EDIT - I'm using an IPad and when I select "show all" it doesn't let me scroll down so I'll have to check on my computer.
  10. Thank you. I didn't get any lego sets but I did get the POTC video game :)

  11. This is just what I've done to the city lately while waiting for the order to arrive - I've added another bench to the left side of the park, a small tree in the corner and some more flowers. I also plan to add a small food stall in the bottom left corner The tree I added in the corner really looks nice I've swapped the FB and the GG. I think it looks alot better from the front and the back which you will see further down. The FB looks better next to the GE I've made the roofs alot more lively buy putting the BBQ and the umbrella back on the GG. on the FB roof you can see the crew enjoying there break in the sun A closer view of the GG rooftop C & C welcome
  12. I didn't get the Lego order on my birthday so it might turn up on Monday (6th), and if it doesn't I might actually go crazy Anyway, I'm having the table measured again so I can have the boards to go on the bottom made. It's going to be difficult to get them all in so I'm having them made in sections. I hope everything goes to plan
  13. Thank you HighFlyer, There are still lots of sets I haven't put in the city like the grand carousel and the creator log cabin. you'd think I'd be able to fit the log cabin in but I just don't have the space. Hopefully they will be in the city soon so everybody can see them Thank you Zorbas, The park area is my main concern at the moment. I've been adding more flowers and trees to it and over the past couple of days which will hopefully make it look better. I've used the tree which came with the Log cabin on the corner of the park and that really makes a difference, I'll get pictures up tomorrow. A small snack shop sounds a great Idea, theres already an ice-cream stand there so I'll make something a lot different.
  14. once I get the wooden board made to go underneath the table I'll try moving or reorganising the city more. The only building I have planned to go underneath is the police station which at the moment is sitting all by it's self on the carpet collecting dust So I want to try and get that into the layout as soon as possible. I'll consider moving the cinema, Pizzera, bank and house underneath. i'm thinking pf having a more residential area underneath. What do you think? originally I did want the hill next to the beach as that would be the most sensible place to put it, But after may times of reorganising and trying to get it to fit in, I couldn't find a place which was right for it? Anyway still no sign of that order so hopefully it will arrive tomorrow which happens to be my birthday so that would be abit weird More updates on there way
  15. Nice city jth781 , most people who try to mix classic town and modern city sets usually go overboard by putting too much in but you've managed to find that perfect balance and that's what makes your town very nice. Great work
  16. A Lego store in a Lego mall. I agree with dragunoc.nyou mall needs a Lego store LT It will be interesting to see how you would make that. The shopping centre looks great. I'll have to look back at the previous pages as I haven't had a chance to see what you've done on them yet.
  17. Thanks for this fantastic review Pandora I must admit I'm not that impressed with this set compared to the town version they released. there are some great pieces in this set like the mermaid tale which can come in very useful when making MOC's. anyway thanks for the review.
  18. Not sure. But I do have a plan in the back of my head. I can either move the pets shop and the apartment down the sides so they are next to the railway tracks and next to the GE and CC then that will leave me room for a modular to go into there place. Or I could move some other buildings like the City House underneath so I can have a long stretch of buildings
  19. I'll try not to make it blocky. I'll throw in some curved pieces to give it a nice feel to it. I could always decorate it with some leaves and flowers like the parlour it's self, try and set a theme going.
  20. I do have some trans blue 8 x 8 plates lying around so I could use them to shelter the customers I'll see what I can do.
  21. I am starting to run out of room now. Which is why I'm gonna start building under the table . I'm really looking forward to that. But it does really defeat the whole objective on having a table in the first place, which was to stop me bending over and hurting my back. Oh does anybody want to see the original plan for my beach I made last year. I took the photos ages ago and there lost in my files somewhere. If so I'll try and dig them out for you.
  22. Thanks Roger Rabbit , I too am very excited for it to progress. Soon it will be completed (that's if I can't think of anything else to put in it) Thank you Legocrazy81, I will move that light to somewhere else because now that you mention it, it does look very out of place. Hopefully the new sets will come tomorrow and then I can put them in the city. When ever I order something new It feels like the days are going very slow and that really Annoys me when all I want them to do is arrive so I can build them. I'm sure any other Lego fan feels the same way.
  23. Welcome Minifig3, do you have any favourite themes. Enjoy the forums
  24. Thank you Jedi master Brick I have tried swapping the pizzeria and the bike shop around before but the pizzeria just don't look right there, mainly because of the height. Now I'm sure the customers wont mind looking at the back of the bike shop as I'm planning to build a small waterfall on the corner so they can look at that rather than an dirty old petrol station Time for an update. Now when you first look at these images you might be thinking "What on earth has he done to the beach" but don't worry there's a perfect explanation to it The Explanation - Light Blue box - Is where the blue baseplate's will go (I guess you kinda already knew about that) Lime Green Box - Is where the marina will go (Again you probably already knew about that) Red box - Is where the blue baseplate's and Just the baseplate's, which come with the light house will be placed Yellow box - Is where the lighthouse will go Now another thing you might be wondering is why I've added some more water area on half of the beach, Now if I had left the water area as it is then the blue boat which comes with the marina wont be able to fit around that small pier thing which sticks out. So it will allow more space for it to move around without it having to actually move onto the beach. I know that's abit confusing but again you will understand when the sets arrive. Now here are some more pictures - The ice cream parlous new location Now any questions about this very confusing update. Don't hesitate to ask Thats all for now people. More updates soon .
