If I can figure out which one came with my Piggy Suit Guy, I'll give it to you for free.

Amazing!

I don't mind getting them, I resell them in pairs. Everyone needs 2, if you ask me.

Is it just me, or is the Millennium Falcon Microfighter reversed? The cockpit is on the left side, not the right. Also, I'll wait to buy the McLaren F1 set when it's McLaren-Honda, thank you. ;)

The big bubbles, the twisty bits, and the plant with the inverted half-dome and the technic gear are my favourite parts. Great stuff.

Ahhh, I stand corrected on that, then! A Facebook friend is an avid digger, and he once posted a Gatling gun 1" round he found with his detector. They were huge cartridges. Your way of representing them is pretty well spot-on. http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/b/ba/Gatling_1inch_round.JPG

Not too shabby. My only critique would be that the true, historically accurate Gatling gun wasn't belt-fed. Even if it were, you'd want to have that belt of ammunition go into the part where you've created the rear gun-sight. The Gatling gun of those days had a gravity feed system, with essentially a pre-loaded magazine that affixed to the top and turning the crank spat out the rounds as they fell downward. But you've captured the overall look of it rather well, and while the belt isn't correct historically, it's rather well done. At first, I was more interested in what you used to create it, until the Western History nerd in me took over.

I made one using a wire oven rack and a cardboard box lid. It's good enough to sort out the bigger stuff for me. I had looked at Box4Blox and decided to save the 40 bucks and build my own. If there was a similar product with a finer final sorting tray for small pieces, I'd be all over it. Alas, I've yet to find something like that, and will probably have to make my own if I want it.

Be safe, and thank you (in advance) for your service to your country.

It's definitely a different "mold" than the hat available on Bricklink (of which I have quite a few). This image should show the difference. Much taller crown and much wider brim than any other LEGO cowboy hat available. Alas, it appears the difference does not appear in actual LEGO form anywhere. The prospector hat didn't exist until after the CMF series, so perhaps this hat will appear eventually as well. Thanks for the help.
-
Nope, the crown on that one is lower than the one in the screenshot.
-
Thank you kindly! It's a shame that hat doesn't exist, but hopefully that'll change with the next Western sets (whenever that may be).
-
I'd appreciate a little help, as my efforts via Brickset.com and various other methods have failed me. I've uploaded a screenshot from the The LEGO Movie, when the prospector asks the cowboy about investing in zeppelins. There are 3 pieces that I can't find, either in the color portrayed in the movie or just in any form. I've put an arrow and a number next to each piece in the uploaded picture, but they were the tall cowboy hat (like a 10 gallon hat), the short beard in brown, and the large round smooth table top with 4 studs in the middle. Purportedly, most every piece rendered was an existing piece, or would be (in the case of the molds for the unique minifigs for the TLM sets, but the prospector hat didn't exist (I don't believe) until the new CMF series came out. So I'm wondering if some of these pieces are the same in that regard. I have seen short beards in other colors, mainly white, but I can't seem to find it in brown or black. And the other two, the 10-gallon hat and the large round table top, I haven't been able to locate anywhere through my searches. Appreciate the help!

I was in awe, and then I saw the lighted pix. That's when my jaw dropped. Incredible work, so much packed into such a great MOC. Well done!

[MOC] Bandit's Secret Hide-Out (revamped)
ElCrab replied to Swan Dutchman's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
That was the set that briefly ended my first dark age. Bought it because the Old West and the US Cavalry is an interest of mine, but didn't buy any other sets and went back into that dark period. Love what you've done with the design. Personally, having bought or received as gifts every Lone Ranger set, the Mine was the best set IMO. And I think its resemblance to the Outlaw Hideout from the original Western sets is a big reason for that. -
Great work on the water/ice, and the run-down appearance of the buildings. Nice work.

Just ordered the 2014 Star Wars Advent Calendar through work. Picking it up when I go in tomorrow. Is it December yet?!
-
I bought horses because I want to do MOCs of the Old West. And someday, I'd like to do a whole cavalry regiment, though a company might be a more reasonable goal, unless I buy a house.
-
That would make sense, and I'm surprised I never thought of that one. Thanks!

I don't have a pic, but in "The LEGO Movie" during the Emmet intro, at the construction site, someone says "I need a 1x2 keyhole" but I can never see the brick. What is a 1x2 keyhole?
-
I went to the Sacramento LEGO Store on Sunday, and they had a few good choices. Got a bunch of 1x2s in clear and tinted, reddish-brown 1x2s, 1x1s in light blue, plus a bunch of other elements. But the best part? 19 horses.

Great build, especially love the various use of flags as shingles and chair backs.

Love this, especially the wagon wheels.
