Does that head on that body remind anyone else of Yul Brynner?

LEGO Star Wars 2012 Pictures and Rumors
Fighter of Frizzies replied to XimenaPaulina's topic in LEGO Star Wars
So 717 pieces for $120 is quite a number. Besides the cost of new parts, could this be a case of the pricing being more determined by weight rather than piece count? -

I imagine Ree-Yees is under some copyright that would not allow it to be in an unlicensed set (or at least that particular headsculpt). But if the headsculpt were already available they could repurpose it for other SW Lego sets for other characters of the same species. -

The Skiff also looks very good and I'd be interested to see how many figures can fit on it. Though my gut is telling me that a lot of the brown parts should have been dark tan, better color uniformity and the like. As it is a weather-beaten desert ship I suppose it is not a huge problem. I'm just nit-picky. -

Wait! I just saw the box picture that has the silhouette labeled Ree-Yees. Interesting. I remember some press release saying that we would not get any other figure, Lego must have decided that making was not cost-effective or something. But if we get him and Lego just hasn't molded him yet, by all means that would be neat. Still a damn fine set overall. -

[quote name='sealslip3' date='13 February 2012 - 04:32 AM' timestamp='1329103929' post='1202973'Still hoping to see the Palpatine's Arrest set soon- hopefully it won't be long since we've seen the other retailer exclusive set. By the way, what's up with the Ree-Yees figure in the Jabba's Palace set? The "mystery figure" turned out to be "no figure." Anti-climatic but there you have it. With all this new Jabba stuff and ROTJ's 30th anniversary coming up I have this sneaking suspicion that we could see a new Sail Barge in '013 so maybe Lego could placate our alien lust then. But in the present I must say I am very excited for these new sets. Kudos Lego! -

Holy cow those pictures. Do you have any better pictures of the other Mini sets? I'm curious how much they differ from the previous models. Thanks! -
Harry Potter 2012 Set Ideas Thread
Fighter of Frizzies replied to Gregorovich's topic in LEGO Licensed
If they can do it, I'd be curious how much licensing fees would add to the $2.99-$3.49 that Lego is already charging per collectible minifigure. That is to say, would that be a big turn-off for a lot of collectors? (compared to the value of sets like Freeing Dobby or The Forbidden Forest) -
A very handsome looking set that I can't wait to pick up (on discount!) One area I'm quite pleased about is the thickness/sturdiness of the wings so that a display stand won't be necessary (unlike the 01 version).

I'd just die if Lando had a double-printed head, preferably one reminiscent of this: Ehh-ahhhhh!!! -

Slight bummer that there will be no mystery Jabba crony, but que sera sera. I am hoping that an eventual Sail Barge re-do will expand Jabba's court (and maybe a BP with more skiff guards/Gammys), but no need to get greedy now. Especially as Kithaba is a nice surprise. -
If no one minds, I have two similar questions to my previous question that I'm gonna bump the thread with. What is the oldest set that you own that still has its stickers on fine? When you remove the stickers, does it leave any residue? (old or new) My only concern is applying them and having to deal with them peeling off in a few month's/year's time.

Being an OT fan, there is not much left for me besides re-designs of old sets but given that I have restarted my collection I am certainly fine with that. I assume that stuff like the Rebel Transport or Escort Frigate do not have enough appeal to justify their high price tags. The only new sets I could think of are a Lars Family Speeder (could make for a nice, small set with Owen and Beru possibly with some Jawas and a Moisture Vaporator) and a Rancor. I would like to see Lego attempt a brick-built Rancor but if not, a sculpted one would be fine. It would be consistent with Lego sculpting other large beasts (e.g. Jabba, Dewback). Maybe whatever set it comes in could include a large gate that could be attached underneath the new Jabba's Palace set. Also, since most new sets will probably see re-designs, I would like to see a new TIE Bomber, Cloud Car, (System-scale) Imperial Shuttle and T-16 Skyhopper. I remember the last A-Wing we got had a green color scheme and I wonder if Lego would ever re-release the model by itself with a movie-accurate red color scheme.

I'm not sure that the mystery figure is Hammerhead. Aren't they just using this as a place holder? Also, the tower is probably supposed to represent this (I assume once it is turned around): EDIT: Beat to it! Still leaving this up as visual reference -

No complaint, just my preference. My Boba has since received a black head. -
Maybe it brings the food to be composted (but more likely an error of sorts).

As long as that 3PO head is a misprint.... though I would be very annoyed to get one with that printing. I would have preferred a regular black head (OT purist) but I keep the helmets on anyway. At least he won't have any flesh color showing like the new Boba Fett. -

I'm guessing it's just a bad printing job on black plastic. Unfortunately, it's not too uncommon. -
That's good to know. I may apply them, though I'd still hate having to find replacements or find myself wishing I hadn't stuck them on. #firstworldproblems

So far I have yet to apply any stickers to my pieces but only because I don't want to have them peeling over time. Has anyone been able to successfully apply any without any future damage? (also, I do try hard to keep them out of sunlight or away from any heat sources if that helps)

I'm not sure I know those guys.... (but out of curiosity, who are they?) Since these are pretty cheap sets, I'd be very keen on seeing more army builders especially if I want to army build the mini-ship as well. If it is a non-army builder, then I hope it is a new figure or at least one that it hard to come by (ex Sebulba only available in a pricey set). If any new planet/ship/figure combos meets none of my preferences, then I shall complain on the Internet some more and call it a day.
