Right. For now, some Remedies should suffice. I'll also try to start buying artifacts that I can swap out of my third slot to protect against effects like that. (the ultimate goal being to merge every negative-effect scroll in existence with my Dread Hat, but that'll take a lot more Gold than I have now, and I suspect that QMs are already trying to make sure that that can't happen )

I agree, AoE isn't such a huge concern as long as you have heroes with high Defense. I don't know if there's a place for her, but I'd also like to see Tesni in there. Plenty of offense and defense. And if you're going to have a Paladin and a lot of players with high Defense, you probably don't really need a Druid.

Docken and four Level 1s?

I should still be waiting in the Hall if we can get that team together, since I need to wait for Thormanil anyways.

Heroica RPG - Unlimited Quest: Fields of Glory
Brickdoctor replied to Sandy's topic in The Heroica Archive
"Alright, no one target those Bugbear Healers until the other enemies are felled! They have the lowest Levels, we can take their Free Hits. Master Rone, stick to the Back Row and target one of those Archers. Master Unth'or, Master Emorith, take Cats or Dryads, your pick. I'll attack Dryad A from the Front Row with my Frozen Saber. "That'll leave us taking five Free Hits. Master Rone, I'll have you second in the Order so that you'll only take a Free Hit from one of the Healers." Order of Actions: Bartholomew Docken Dyric Rone Xander Unth'or Althior Emorith -
Yet another reason for stats to take precedence over roleplaying.

Heroica RPG - Unlimited Quest: Fields of Glory

"Good work. Alright, since you are the most vulnerable, I think you will be able to make the best use of the Skeleton Decoy, Master Rone. If you are certain that you have no use for a bomb, Master Emorith, I will give one Fire Bomb to Master Unth'or and I will keep the other one for myself. "Does anyone have any preparations to make before we head to the Apple Orchard?" -
Alright, remember, guys, discussion of sets that you hope/want/wish to see in the future belongs in Future Star Wars Sets. I've moved a few posts over there.

LEGO is a medium with which virtually anything can be built - oceans, landscapes, ships, castles, spacecraft and more. But now that you've created that great set for your brick flick or comic, you might be thinking, "What about the sky?". Yes, you could build a big blue wall and various clouds and celestial bodies to attach to it, but maybe you don't have enough bricks, or maybe you just don't like the way that looks, and you would prefer the simpler look of a sky and its atmospheric effects created in photo-editing. This will be done in this lesson using Adobe's Photoshop. Prerequisites: You'll need to know how to use your camera and how to take a crisp and well-composed photo with it. Photoshop is a terrific piece of software, but it can't completely fix an image that's out of focus, blurry, significantly grainy, poorly composed, or otherwise lacking. If you want to know, I shot my photos for this lesson with an entry-level DSLR, the Nikon D-3100, with a basic 18-55mm lens and an exposure time between two and six seconds and an aperture of f13. You will of course need Photoshop. This lesson was written using Photoshop CS5 Extended, but the techniques should work with other versions, though I have no experience with them. (I do know that the only features that CS5 Extended has and CS5 does not are 3D tools and image data analysis tools - you won't need them for the editing described in this lesson, so if regular CS5 is what you have, you're fine) Contents: Preparation: Setting up to take the Photo Daytime Effects Adding a Daytime Sky Adding a Sun Adding Daytime Clouds Nighttime Effects Adding a Nighttime Sky Adding Moon and Stars Adding a Starfield Adding Nighttime Clouds Adding a Sky to a White Background Assignment

Happy birthday, Bob. May the Force be with you.

Because I hadn't realized that until now.

No amount of emoticons and text can convey how much I agree with this.

"We can take three Free Hits without them Damaging us! Concentrate all fire on that Super Star Destroyer just one Scary Crow!" I attack Scary Crow H from the Back Row with my Briar Bow. Order of Actions: Bartholomew Docken Xander Unth'or Althior Emorith Dyric Rone -
Because I was a little busy and didn't do the math. I edited my post in the quest to include the new plan of attack.

"Alright, only six remain. Only Master Rone will take Damage from a Free Hit from one enemy, so we can absorb three Free Hits with no Damage taken as long as Master Rone remains last in the Order. Two of us should concentrate on the enemy with the least Health, Scary Crow I, and the other two of us should take two other crows. Master Unth'or, since you can take out any enemy with one Hit, you should attack one of the crows with higher Health." I attack Scary Crow I from the Back Row with my Briar Bow. Order of Actions: Bartholomew Docken Xander Unth'or Althior Emorith Dyric Rone -
Of course....and that is why I no longer try to roleplay.

Makes sense, except for the part about the good eye; there's a post somewhere in the Hall where I said that he'd lost his eye in some crazy story involving Crusaders (true Crusaders from the LEGO storyline; I think that was the story I introduced them to Heroica in) and a drunk guy. It was terrible roleplaying, but I still consider it for the most part to be a canonical part of the Heroica storyline. Also, Tesni already did the "eyepatch over good eye" thing. If I remember correctly, it was Quest 1 in which she lifted up the eyepatch to look at something, and there was a perfectly healthy eye beneath it.

I think it's just the personality that each character has developed. Even in the case of players who don't make any effort to roleplay, such as myself, the character develops a personality based on the choices the player makes. Everyone knows that Docken is an original Ranger min-maxed for defense, which limits the amount of Advanced Classes that fit him based on his non-roleplaying decisions alone.Am I stating the obvious here, in my ignorance of the skills of roleplaying?

Thanks for the render, bbqqq. The blues are a little bit... off, now that Kalle mentions it, but I don't really care; it's a beautiful render. And my Classic Space statue! -

Agreed. Star Wars references are better! Though I must admit that my knowledge of the Hunger Games goes no further than that quote and the general concept of the plot; didn't watch the movie, didn't read the books, and have no intention of doing either.

Got it, thanks. So, to answer the original question, if there are no Expert Classes that allow use of bow and shield and have rolls and abilities I like, Docken will go from Warden to Mime.

Heroica RPG - Unlimited Quest: Fields of Glory
Brickdoctor replied to Sandy's topic in The Heroica Archive
"Good work, Master Emorith. Eight enemies left, so it won't make a difference in the area of Free Hits if we target three enemies or four enemies, since I can take the fifth Free Hit at no Damage. Two of us should take Scary Crow B, since he has the lowest Health; if the first kills him, the second will automatically target another. The other two should take two other Scary Crows." Watching the eight remaining birds flit around, I line up my Briar Bow with Scary Crow B and fire from the Back Row. Order of Actions: Bartholomew Docken Xander Unth'or Althior Emorith Dyric Rone
