    After the war, there was a sever need for trade, even if former enemies had now become neutral. One side had things the other wanted and vice versa. Sometimes traders would not accept currency of another nation. So banks were needed. Exchange your currency so you can purchase what you need. Gold is gold, but sometimes you need the correct face on a coin to get that deal done. Maybe you want to save your money or need some financial security (literally). Come to Westface's first official bank since the war ended. The old clock is as accurate as the bookkeeping. Which is very accurate.
