Heroica RPG - Quest #146: Red is the Bloodiest Color
KotZ replied to KotZ's topic in The Heroica Archive
"What's that?" he asks, leaning in to hear her better. "Help? I need help? I'm not that old! Oh, you need help? That makes more sense. What do you need? You look like a decent fellow." -
Sorry, went down for a nap. Molly, just how did you "Verify" the targets were/were not town? OR were you referring to the PRs who were doing the killing?
-
Devil's advocate here: Say Molly was scum, why would she have given us two scum, especially so fast? To get us to trust her and throw us off her tail? Also, why wouldn't the real town block say anything, unless it was Perce. Could Molly have been converted?

"What's this?" Old Man Kendall exclaims, ripping the poster from his back and handing it back to Avalanche. "Get away from me!" "You might need to get someone to distract him," she advises. "Using traits suitable to you may help." -

"I myself am not so sure on their experience, I've been too busy running the day-to-day functions of the town," he replies to the yeti. "Captain Greyson, our militia leader, would be able to answer that better. He served in a small mercenary company over in Dastan before settling down here. Greyson recruited a few people from the town who had aptitude and has been training them, but there's only so much he can do. Some have fought off a few raiders but they're are now too many of them to fight, and we don't have enough soldiers to defend every ship that leaves our port." Turning to Annie to answer her question, he replies, "I've been lucky, or perhaps unlucky, to see a few of these men. They've mainly done hit and run attacks when they do come ashore. Most of the time they stick to the sea and harrass our ships. We've lost thousands of gold worth of cargo since they started attacking. Basically, we're dealing with a large group of pirates. I've never heard of anything like it. My bet is there someone is higher up pulling the strings, but I'm at a loss at just who it would be. Surely it's nobody in Eubric." "Here you go," Lacy responds to the mage. Supplies for sale Potion (Restores 10 health to the target.) Costs 7 gold. Remedy (Removes all negative effects from the target.) Costs 11 gold. Holy Bomb (Causes 5 points of Light-elemental damage to all enemies.) Costs 15 gold. Elixir (Restores 50 health and 10 ether to the target and removes all negative effects from the target.) Costs 25 gold. Tridentian Cape (Max Ether +3; protects from Blinded effect; suitable for mages, clerics, necromancers and scholars; backwear). Costs 40 gold. Nondescript cape (SP: 3; protects from Cursed effect; suitable for rogues; backwear). Costs 40 gold. Elaborate Robe (SP: 2; Max Ether +4; protects from Enamored and Doomed; suitable for mages, clerics, necromancers and scholars; backwear). Costs 60 gold. "Really?" she asks excitedly. "That would be so helpful. I'm moving my shop to a new location in a few weeks, and I want everyone in the town to know. Here are seven posters you need to put up around town. Here is the list you need to place them at." She hands Avalanche the items. "You can finish this at anytime you are able to before you head back to Eubric." Lacy's Information Posters (7), quest item Locations to place: Mary Lancaster's Bakery (1) Pillars at Dock (2) Animal Pens (2) Old Man Kendall's Back (1) Shrine of Ennoc (1) "Mary Lancaster's bakery is down the street. You've already been to the docks so you know where that is. The animal pens are just outside of town. See that man stumbling around? That's Old Man Kendall. The Shrine is around back. You might not be able to complete everything at once; you may have to get some help." -
Heroica RPG - Quest #146: Red is the Bloodiest Color

Finally, the sun sets allowing everyone to rest and regain their strength. The voyage took seventeen days. A good five of them consisted of avoiding ships. They even had to wait half a day (much to the dismay of an impatient Slate) outside of port before the coast... literally and metaphorically, was clear to enter Tridentia's port. Luke led the Heroes off the ship. For the two returning Heroes, they were able to see the town had grown. The shops were bustling, there were more buildings. Perhaps Tridentia no longer needed the term "colony"; it was a full fledged town. Waving to them was the Mayor William Morris. Peaking out from their house was his wife, Lacy Lane Morris. "There they are!" the mayor exclaims as he goes to hug his adopted son, Luke. "Good to see you again, son." He ushers the cleric over to his mother as he approaches the Heroes. "I'm glad we have two old friends back with us. I'm somewhat surprised there aren't more of you. For you two new allies, allow me to introduce myself. I am William Morris, mayor of this fine town. You've already met my son and back there is my wife, Lacy." He extends a hand to Avalanche and Calamity. "You have no idea how pleased I am that Heroica has heeded our call. Hopefully this won't be as trying of a challenge as our previous problems. Do you have any questions?" Lacy makes her way over to the group and takes her husband's hand. "Hello, Annie, Warlen." A warm smile comes from her as she notices Avalanche and Calamity. "I must say, you have to be warm there, sir. And, miss, I may have some clothing options for you. Actually all of you. Ask me at any point if you need to see my shop. And mentioning my shop-" "Sweetheart," William interjects, "they might be a little busy." "Oh, nonsense," she dismisses with a wave of her free hand. "They've been able to help me with my shop before, I'm sure they'll be able to now. They're only training soldiers anyway. If you Heroes do help, I can give each of you twenty gold." -
I'm actually finding myself agreeing with Ray, is there anyway we can know how you came to the conclusion? Even if that's through PMs. Vote: Foorth Dyke (Tamamono)
-
So then who do you find scummiest at this point, Ray? I understand Gale could be town, and it's 50:50. Just brining up ideas that he's running under the radar. I agree he's probably not the best vote right now, but it is somewhat annoying how there has been minimal dialogue from him and his large belly.
-
... so you jumped on a bandwagon? To an extent, I agree. By that I mean we voted based on evidence we believed there was against him. Although why didn't you find Ewan particularly scummy? His defence seemed to become erratic as the day went on. This is for my sweat-addled brain: Alright, there are nine people left. Eight have left us. Two of them were scum. So one or two scum left I venture to guess. Going off of what Julia has said, Gale has been quiet. Scum flying under the radar maybe? So Gale could be either the last scum, or second to last.
-
There was? And welcome, Skeleton!
-
Also I believe there was a night where there was only one kill. Something doesn't add up.

The captain, overhearing bits and pieces of various conversations, wonders if the correct Heroes were hired for the job. -
I read Woodcock as loyal pretty much the whole game...
-
He still won't come back.
-
I'm still trying to wrap my sweaty head around that he wasn't. I mean he was playing really scummy.

"Well after that whole debacle we just had, I can't say too much. As long as Luke doesn't cause any more problems and we can avoid pirates, probably two weeks. Don't worry, the trip is a fast one. My suggestion to help you, sleep out on deck, look up at the stars. Go ahead and look around the ship everyone and find yourself a place to sleep if you like." Luke only shrugs at the mention of the crystal. "Maybe it's left over magic from when the one wizard made all of our color disappear on the island. I found this one in his old cave, actually." So after a scum has been found, I vote and disappear I'm scummy?
-
For the record, I'm not scum. I would love to know why you think it was a poor accusation. There wasn't really a bandwagon at that point. I was the third person to speak. Yes, the other two spoke about Ewan. They also spoke about me. Somewhat hard to not speak about me when Ewan had accused me. I was just giving my thoughts on what he did yesterday. For your second point, you mention me, Wynn, and two scum already dead. I can't speak for Wynn as I haven't been paying attention to him all that closely. Does Ewan not ping you at all? We have an idea on him, yet do you not think it worth to follow up? Are you avoiding lynching him as you're together, or are you just trying to turn the vote on me and have the town remove another fellow townie? Vote: Ewan (mostlytechnic) That's not to say you haven't been pinged, Ray. I'll see what is revealed tomorrow and decide what more to think of you then.
-
... Anyone else want to talk? I see Molly is on and you're probably writing/collecting stuff, but does anyone have anything to say?

Score! Another Shadow down! As for Ewan, Julia did an excellent job yesterday of analyzing him. What I do want to mention is at the very end of the day, he switches his vote from Woodcock to Duke. He switched with only 30 minutes left. To me, even though it looked like a no lynch, I think it was a calculated move by him to seem less scummy and hide his role. If there is no scum protector and they knew that Duke was to be killed in the night, he could say "Well look! I voted for scum! Barely anyone else did."
