Has anyone gone to ToysRUs to try the minifigure exchange yet?

Hey guys, Just sharing something cool I noticed in the recent Lego Club Magazine: There's going to be a Toys R Us Minifigure exchange on October 13 & 14. Check out my scan of the page (look at top left). Just letting you know that all the Toys R Us in Ottawa have all the new POTC sets, except the small $15 one with the ships in a bottle.

Interestingly enough, at my Toys R Us, it's only 10% discount for the games priced at $40 regularly.

So... the FREE LEGO Star Wars 30050 Mini Republic Attack Shuttle with LEGO Star Wars purchases above $35 ($4.99 value)... is that for Oct 1-7 only or for all of October?

I know, it seriously sucks I hope we start to get better Lego discounts. It's making our wallets lighter too fast!

Erm... meant to say in my previous post that Toys R Us & Zellers strikes down common themes by 25% off often. So profit margin might be higher, unless it's just a loss leader market strategy (which I doubt since it wouldn't really work.)

Y'know... I'm wondering, what IS the profit margin on lego for retailers? For the more common themes (City, Atlantis) discounts are usually at 25%!

I'm pretty sure discontinued is when TLG doesn't make anymore new ones, and there's no pending shipments of that set left. But sets can still be hidden on a shelf somewhere on clearance :)

Apparently, they start their first stores with not too busy areas first to test things out *shrugs*

I heard they're having a soft (quiet?) opening first around the 9th of July And then a hard (grand) opening at the announced date about a week later :)
