Actually this is a parody of Snow White. Instead of cooking, cleaning up etc. for the dwarfes, she is doing danceshows while the dwarfs get drunk. Unfortunately CCCVIII-entries have to be PG13 (wink), so the MOC only depict the beginning of the evening... Folder when public: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=4740907

You mean... something like they did from 2007 to 2009. Think about it, they had orcs, undead, trolls, dwarves and pretty noble knights. Well for over a year or so everyone was talking about and wishing for forestmen with pointy ears. (wich is they only thing that was missing)

Get your catapults ready to bombard this Castle

It is a reference to characters and gags from monthy python: Well the knight hast a ckicken, but the lego-fish does look better than the turkey leg. In "Asterix" there is also a character named Unhygienix, who uses his fish in fights. -
Hey Guys, this is the castle wich i have on display at the moment. On one hand I think ist pretty decent, becaus i finally had enough pieces to build something like an entire castle with landscaping and some sort of interior. On the other hand i am still not pleased with it, but i am not quite sure if i modify it or if I should disassamble it and an entirely new MOC from scratch. If I modify it, i would start with the smallest tower on the lower right (on the front next to the gatehouse), then the gatehouse and would finally build another story on the keep. But i have to admit, that the technique of the modularity is very crude, so building something new would be the better option. Hey Guys, does the term army usually imply that there are only troops of one 'faction'. Well, i have a different approach at building an army as i like to have several Knight with distinct colorschemes and heraldy in my army. Well, just take a look at it. Folder when public 'Good Guys' 'Baddies'

Any suggestions for how to use KK2 colored knights?
Kumpelkante replied to Shroffy123's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Catapults need Ammo. ...and there are a lot of catapults in KK2 -
Even more years ago, the sete, which were released in the castle line, were modular. This means most of the sets were a individual module for one big castle. Yeah I know, thats old news, but hey i get another post on my counter http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=4287805

In fact that is the way i built my last castle/keep (which i'll show, when/if i get a new cam for b-day). Building it by modules makes it a lot easier to built the individual buildings or part and access the interior. It is also pretty useful if you plan to build a whole medivial town. In fact there is the Classic Castle City standard, though it is not seen that often in Mocs anymore. But you meant by "modular" building these s@h-exclusive sets. Well, you could consider the MMV as an attempt to make a set like these for the castle theme. But as already mentionioned medievial architecture does not face in the same direction or at a straight alley. As far as i know they were more build around a central spot like a market place or a church. This makes it harder to build modules that can be connected by technic pins. But on the other hand the MMV does look as it could be expanded by following exclusive-sets. Also the two building could be modded into modules. Last but not least: Are there any techniques to build a castle by modules, where you are still able to have a landscaping whith at least some comlexity?

Well first i mixed pirates and "knights" when i was a kid. I used them as some kind of bandits. I did not include that soldiers, though. Nowadays I incorprate some pirate-figs into my legocastle display, the same way as i did as a kid. ...just a little more subtle. I also use certain parts for castle-figs like heads with a particular beard or muscets for the dwarves (pimped with those clip-on-axeblades) When it comes to Brikwars I use all Figs i can find and make two big armies for me and my ex-girlfriend. (well i did, when she was still my girlfriend )

Ladies and Gentlemen, recently i was looking for videoreviews of legosets on youtube and found this channel Brickshowtv. They have a wide variety of lego-sets from late 2009 and 2010 so far reviewed on ther channel. Becaus these are videoreviews, playfeatures can more easily be shown and you can see the sets more detailed or from more angles than on photos. They also have three ratings for different age groups. On the other hand they sometimes use terms like i.e. wrecking ball instead of mace. Also in one of the latest it was said, that the "rat" is rare piece (which it is not imho). So it is not perfect but still entertaining while having a coffee break. Watch, enjoy, disuss and keep bricking KumpelKante

Despite the raised baseplate this set looks a lot better than on the box, might have bought this one, if it originally was released in europe/germany. Nice review, Andi... nice review I'm a conformist!

As much as i like fantasy elements, they do not fit in as well as in the fantasy theme (hence the name fantasy theme). But i still think that the new theme as great as it is, needs some kind of icing on the cake. But face it, we had the following in the past: Wizards, witches, dragons, dwarves orcs and undead, and some beast from the vinkings line. What does fit in better would be some arthurian legend inspired looking figs with a slightly mythical or otherworldy maybe epic (dunno) look to them. ideas include: Some kind of Green Knight for the Dragons. maybe some kind of angels or knights/paladins with angel-like wings Gargoyles (i consider the baby dragons on the dragon tower as some kind of gargoyle) Maybe some kind of giant using the large new legs another idea would be, as the new theme looks a bit like it takes place in a earlier period, to have some barbarish looking faction in it, maybe picts or looking like any unspecific barbarian/heathen (like those tribe, wich were in some cases around in europ until the 11th century)

Alright, then here is the link to the onlineshop Metalandi aksed for: Spielwarenkontor 24 (german online shop)
-
Yepp you can purchase at spielwarenkontor 24 [i simply googled it, too. btw. is it allowed to link to onlineshops or is it considered spam?) ... a prison carriage that has a sun roof. I want a prison carriage that is a cabriolet in the next wave errm you remind me to mock about that in the review thread for that set. Hey, the MMV also had stables, so in this set it would've been easy to add a saddle. But otherwise MMV is too great to let this be the source of a conmplaint. But think of other older set like the prison carriage from the DRagen Masters subtheme (6056) there were two horses pulling the wagon, AND a saddle, so that one knight could (asthetically pleasing if that is a word) be mounted. But thats minor complaining anyway.

I ordered the entire 2010 wave of Kingdoms last week at an onlineshop (except the battlepacks and the adventcalendar) and they arrived this morning. My thoughts so far are: -The Buildings look greater than i imagined from the photos, especially the castle, whose front looks a bit boring on the fotos (at least the walls). But on my desk it looks really fine with the walls on all four sides and the towers. (I love that there are just a few open spaces) I still think that front of the dragon tower looks better than that of the castle and it is also a bit higher. Though it looks better on the photos. The small outpost is ok, nothing special. Summarized: 3 of 5 regular sets are buildings. Great thing this is. (i alway wanted to have more buildings in the fantasy line) -The figs are great, too. Again, the Dragons are a slightly bit bette than the Lions. (must be the colour scheme) Too bad, the do not have a (mounted, knights HAVE to be mounted) Knight as a leader. The "great helm" is -nomen est omen- great. I still wait of the reintroduction of the bullethelmet. The princess has the right hair colour: yesssss. I only have two complaints: First there could be more figs in general and more dragon knights/soldiers in particular. Second there needs to be more cavalry in general and some cavalry at all for the Dragons. Btw. the jousting set is missing -Is it me, or was there a bit more value for money in the fantasy line? and @TLC: If there is a horse in any set, please do not be to cheap to add a saddle.
-
What the new castle-subtheme really needs is more cacalry for both factions but espacially the dragon knights. I got the new sets this morning and what i am missing most is a new jousting set. Ok, thats a set and not a fig, but a jousting set is a nice way to supply some unique knight (mounted of course) just like the golden knight, This would also be a nioe opportunity to add some squires, if we do not get real peasants in regular sets. They could look like the "soldiers" accompany the mounted knights in the yellow castle. I would do this by giving them a peasant looking torso in the colour of their faction. [ I just hate taking men from my army to use them as squires, but knights an heroes need some sort of sidekick ] I also would like to see the bullethelmet in one of the new colour, as it would fit in very well with the style of the theme und look good next to the "great helm". And I have too agree: It would be nice to have a neutral or renegade faction linke the forestmen or the wolfmen. Though there shoul only be one fig of that faction for 2 or 3 of figs of the other factions ihmo. (well they are renegades and not a force that rules the land.)

Hi, Im Kumpelkante and one year and a couple of month of lurking is enough. So I come out of the closet and join the clup. I am an Afol since 2005 (doing some MOCs with LDraw/MLCad) and started collecting Lego again 2 years ago. My favourite themes are Castle, Pirates and impulse sets (I know, thats not a theme, but i started collecting these as sets and not as "parts packs"). I also collect sets that include creatures/monsters or animals. (wich makes Atlantis-sets interesting, though im not into action themes and vehicles) Besides Lego my main interests are B-Movies, Camp (think of the batman series from the 60ties) in general and all kinds of oddities. At the moment i am studying philosophy and history of arts at the WWU in Muenster, Germany. nuff said KumpelKante Befor I forget it, the title is meant comletely ironic, I am not gay.

Ladies and Gentlemen, Afols and Kfols, this is my first post, and this was my first castle-set and also the first Legoset I remember playing with. My Grandma bought it three times back then (fortunately not three copies at once ) I appreciated the horse and the knight (rider), but I never liked the set as a whole. (wanted to have kings castle or Bff instead)
