Which Themes Deserve a Reboot?
Kumpelkante replied to Lancethecat's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Yes Western sounds great... BUT next time without a license or movie tie in (if you count these Lego the Movie sets at Western themes) Vikings need a reboot, and has a thread for that already. But hey i got an better idea: Next time there is an interesting theme (other than ninjago and chima)TLC does not discountinue it immidiately. Instead they expand it with further waves. I am sure pirates (2009) monster fighters, pharaos quest and several other themes would have potential for more than one wave. How does that sound?- 438 replies

Could 2014 Make Lego Fans Bankrupt?
Kumpelkante replied to BrickBuilder3213's topic in General LEGO Discussion
me too. At least i could complete my collection of 2013 castle sets (you would buy the dragon mountain too if it was 40% off) and some lone ranger set. but not so fast: theres the tumbler and a hobbit wave coming up. -
Maybe another unikitty, green lantern, michelangelo, some of those robots. microbuilds could include a kragle, o doubledecker couch or random mish-mash which would fit the style of the sets and the message of the film besides: city advent calendar did not include much exclusive figure... at least ones that were that much worth collecting. Lets see it this way: A Lego Advent Calendar is a cheap way to pile up some more bricks and figs and have a nice little build each day in december. (btw. you dont get a decent set for 20 bucks outside the creator line anymore, do you?)

How old are you actually? Let me guess: you are under 20 or just a few years over. Just keep it going. People start to become more open once they are over 25... or you will other people after you have left high school.

Did you build it yourself(looking at one o my mocs) How much does such a big castle cost? (Again looking at a moc) How many pieces did you use (yes, i count the single pieces) Mistaking generic fig for a character from an intellectual property (for example mistaking the grey wizard from the 2008 castle line for gandalfor the barbarian from the current mf-line for conan...)

As you mention it: part of this year's city advent calendar is a bbq... in december. ...must be a southern hemisphere thing nice idea, maybe putting several different themes into one single advent calendar could be done with a advent calendar for the lego movie (maybe the dvd-release)

Hey Guys, I do not know if there is a thread for Lego related pics already. If not, there should be a Thread for wierd pics that show Lego or let you think of Lego and I start with an ad i found on facebook: I do wether know if this Lego (and i think and hope it is not) or that this should be done with Lego bricks.

I wish we'd have a change of themes every years. but i am afraid TLC ist bound to do city, star wars and friends as an advent calendar each year, for the next couple of years. hmmm maybe we get a lord of the rings/hobbit one. that would be nice or a creator one with somewhat more sophisticated builds or some nice parts

In his last battle an aged King Arthur defeats his bastard son Mordred, but dies the very same moment from the wounds he suffered in the finght. With his last breath he asks Sir Bedivere to throw Excalibur into the enchanted lake. Suddenly a hand emerges from the water and take the sword back into the deep. arthur1 von tobiasgeserick auf Flickr arthur2 von tobiasgeserick auf Flickr arthur3 von tobiasgeserick auf Flickr

Greetings, Here it is, another CCCXI entry. This time i picked a location from the novel "A Game of Thrones": The Flea Bottom. A Wiki of Ice and Fire describes it as follows: "Flea Bottom is what the slum area of King's Landing is called. A down-trodden area of town. It has pot-shops along the alleys where one can get a 'bowl o' brown.' It has a stench of pigsties and stables, tanner's sheds mixed in with the smell of winesinks and whorehouses. It is a maze of twisty, unpaved alleys and cross-streets below the Street of Flour on the way down the west side of Rhaenys's Hill. The buildings lean over the narrow alleys, almost touching." In contrast to the tv-series, the novel "A Game of Thrones" dedicates an entire Chapte to Arya Stark surviving in the Flea Bottom by cathing pidgeons and exchanging them for bowl o' brown. fleabottom1hr von tobiasgeserick auf Flickr fleabottom2 von tobiasgeserick auf Flickr Fleabottom3 von tobiasgeserick auf Flickr

Hey Guy, this is my third entry for the CCCXI. It is based on the Sängerkrieg (minstrel contest). Short summary: On the Wartburg a contest between six minstrels took place in the early 13th century. This contest then lead to the "Rätselspiel" (mystery game), in wich the sorceror Klingsor(really his name) summoned a demon, which was bannished by Wolfram von Eschenbach's songs. I used the SÄngersaal (Hall of Minstrels) as a source, but decided take a bit of an artistic freedom, because a faithful adaption might have looked a bit toooo colorful. now to the pictures: bards1 von tobiasgeserick auf Flickr bards3 von tobiasgeserick auf Flickr bards2 von tobiasgeserick auf Flickr

Actually there is no interior in the towe, other than in the top, where the walls fell apart. does not make any sense anyway to build an interior in a moc that mainly shows a bigger scene also building both an interior and exterior of a building may lead to problems with the proportion, wich you can observe in my medieval bathing house.

Hey guys, heres my second entry for this year's Colossal Castle Contest. (beeing the medieval bathing house the first one) I plan to enter it into the secret hideout category, but lets move on to the backstory: A long time ago the old fortress, that was built to guard the river crossing, was abandoned by the rightful ruler of the kingdom. Nowadays the last two towers, that remain, are inhabitated by the king of outlaws and his band of highwaymen. So after all every merchant, pilgrim or knight errant, who wants to cross the river still has to pay a toll. What it is, you ask? Not much, just everything you have, your money and your lives. brücke1 von tobiasgeserick auf Flickr bridge4 von tobiasgeserick auf Flickr bridge2 von tobiasgeserick auf Flickr bridge3 von tobiasgeserick auf Flickr bridge5 von tobiasgeserick auf Flickr By the way, im not sure wich three pictures im going to enter, so im open to suggestions.

In the dark ages taking a bath was contrary to common believe very common in most european towns. In most cases there was one big tub to bath in and several smaller ones with hot and cold water so that the temperature of the water in the big tub could be adjusted. There have also been saunas been used in some parts of europe. A part from bathing people in medieval towns went to the bathing house to get foul teeth broken out or for other more fun "activities". bath1hr von tobiasgeserick auf Flickr bath2hr von tobiasgeserick auf Flickr bath3 von tobiasgeserick auf Flickr
