This is my first post too.....I guess this thread is as good a place as any to start, huh?
Anyway, my "luckiest" Lego find was actually my first Lego purchase three years ago....and it is what got me hooked on Lego in the first place!
My wife and I were expecting our first child, so the excited new dad in me started looking through the toy aisles and I saw a stack of Lego sets on clearance. Since I loved Lego as a kid, I took a closer look and saw a huge box that turned out to be the Lego Batcave. Clearance price was $18. I debated whether or not I actually wanted it for a while (knowing what I know now, I can't believe I even thought about it before snatching it up!!!), and finally decided to go ahead and buy it. A few weeks after that, we found out we were having a girl....and I thought that I had made a mistake because what girl would want a Lego Batcave??? Well, now that my daughter is 3.....I am SOOOOO glad I bought that set because she and I have spent many hours together building Lego sets already. And now I have a newborn boy as well, so I'm sure he'll appreciate the Batcave even more. :)
My second lucky find was a purchase from Craigslist a couple of weeks ago. I bought a lot containing the following sets from a mom whose son didn't want his Lego sets anymore. All sets were in excellent used condition with no missing pieces that I have found so far (we have built the first three sets on the list), and they were all neatly organized in labled ziplock bags with the instruction booklets attached (no boxes). All of these sets were included, and I paid $250 for the whole lot.

And while I'm at it, I was also able to get the UCF Millenium Falcon at the reduced price during the May The Fourth sale a couple of weeks ago -- I'm thrilled to have that set, even though it's going to sit in the closet for a few years until the kids are old enough to REALLY enjoy building it with me!
