Getting organized on bricklink is a project and a half I often waste many hours finding the best combination of minimizing stores to purchase from and the price of parts themselves. The cheapest parts aren't always better when you factor in shipping. This is especially true when you're not in the EU.

What an epic truck. Model team looks and Technic functions, with pneumatics and remote controls to boot! After building his fantastic 10x4 dump truck, this looks to be my next project. It's going to be one pricy build with 25 wheels, pneumatic cylinders and motors, but the scale looks much better in fitting the 8043 compared to the drawbar trailer. I think it's time to do an inventory of my parts and do some shopping at bricklink :D

That's a very cool little tank. The wheels are awesome and the chassis is so simple. Love it! -
8043 Excavator - Lego update
flyz replied to tomacwhite's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
It seems like the excavator is relisted on S@H with 30 days ship date for US/Canada and Oct 29 for everywhere else. Lets hope we get our service pack before then. -
[REVIEW] 8043 - Excavator
flyz replied to Blakbird's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Received my set today and I was excited to start building it. I promptly (bad idea) went through the whole building process and had a complete excavator in a matter of hours. When I finally put some batteries in, I discovered a huge mistake on my part. The excavator wouldn't slew! So I did a bit of investigation and found out that I've built the whole thing with the turntable upside down! With the whole set pretty much build around the turntable, I couldn't find a way of fixing the problem without taking the whole thing apart. I guess this is an excuse to build the B model..... Edit: I've now completed the B model and there's huge amounts of spare parts. Stuff like panels, 3L universal joints, the entire gearbox components and tons more. The model a lot less complex but all the functions are great. I think I prefer this one after building both. -
TECHNIC Sets from 2010

Agreed, and people do all kinds of stuff like trial trucks. Apart from a few breakages and wear, I don't see anything wrong. -

Lets hope it's sooner than that. Looking back at the first post, we should hopefully see 1H2011 sets in a month -
TECHNIC Sets from 2010
flyz replied to LordGalewind's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
It seems like 8051, 8052 and 8053 are available at S@H in all regions. No signs of 8043 in US/Canada though. -
[REVIEW] 8043 - Excavator

Ordered mine off TRU and I hope it comes in a few days :D -
To Han: I appreciate your time and effort in making excellent MOCs and then creating instructions for them. I currently have the dump truck and the trailer built and it's just simply amazing. I'm wondering how it look alongside 8043 Being in Canada and having to go through buying all the parts for Han's dump truck, I understand what Paul is doing for the AFOLs. It really is a pain in the megablocks to gather some rare parts off BL, especially if you're not in Europe.

[REVIEW] 8043 - Excavator

I'm excited but worried that TLG will not bring this set to Canada, just like the Crane Truck.... -
That looks awesome. My Shuttle arrived today! It'll be my first System set in over 18 years since the 4558 Metroliner. I can't wait to build it. I'm more of a Technic kinda guy but this set was just too amazing to pass on.

It's available at S@H right now.

8258 Crane Truck Availibility
flyz replied to Countdown's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I got mine off Bricklink for 160 Euros. It took a while to arrive but at least I got the set. If they did the same with the Excavator, I won't be a happy camper. -
TECHNIC Sets from 2010

You've read my mind. I think I'll get one set first and build both to see if I can do without either model (Probably not :D) -

Yup, not only do we get shafted on price, we got shafted on an entire flagship model. Luckily there's Bricklink... -

I like the B model of the chopper more than the A model. It wasn't on my buy list at first but I think I'll get it for the B model :) The loader reminds me of nico's MOC. Both B models are quite nice, but not the container truck.... -
