Penguin - I have looked at this MOC maybe 10 or 11 times and each one it blows me away. I just finshed the game Arkham Asylum and I have to say the MOC and photography really capture the mood that is set by the prison. Incredible job, I really think this is one of the best MOCs I have ever seen. Awesome! Dan

I just got this set in the mail today, and I have to say it is really awesome. For the price you can still get it for, it is one I recommend for any castle or even ship fan 100%! It is awesome and has so many options with all of the weapons and figures. For what you get even today, it is incredible. I recommend this to anyone!

LEGO Collectable Minifigures General Discussion

I just heard that Lego may be discontinuing the line... is this true? I want to get my hands on a few before they are gone -
SP 2 and Ice Planet 2002. Love the early 90's lines! I loved the little posters that came with the sets.

Yes, absolutely. If I can remember, one of the first licensed lines were Star Wars. After its success, Lego probably hoped for the same results with some big names. Personally, I think Indiana Jones was a good idea and the Batman and Spiderman series were interesting concepts, but I think at this point they have gone too far. PoP was cool but for some reason I don't feel like it fits. Ben 10 or whatever it was called is too much. So was Cars. I think Legos were best when all figure had the yellow, simple faces. I like the new pieces and designs, but I feel like they have gone too far and in some licensed sets I see less and less creativity (bigger pieces, stickers, etc.) Maybe it is just me, but I miss the old sets like Black Knights, Forestmen, old Pirates, etc. I think Lego has changed tremendously over the years but after the 2001 Star Wars and Adventurers desert theme things started to change. Just my .02, but I think TLG needs to go back to its roots before it becomes something its not. Maybe I am wrong - maybe today's kids really like this stuff. But as an adult builder I don't like it nearly as much.

I think Wolfpack was the best subtheme. It was a shame they didn't develop it more, I think it had a great story line and interesting figures and sets.

This is a great MOC! I think it is an awesome fort and looks like a lot of fun. I really liked the treasure hold part. Great job!

So basically making the ship a little taller with those layered? I think it could work, check out the ship from Imperial Trading Post. It was a small merchant vessel but used that piece (I think?) to make a sleek, small ship. I think it came out well. It would be tough though making a large one with those... If you're talking about putting them side by side, it would be alot tougher because the shape of the piece makes a major gap inbetween the two pieces and makes it look a little rough IMHO. It is worth a shot with the right pieces almost anything is possible. Hope this helped.

Really awesome from beginning to end, every bit of it is detailed. Looks awesome! Thanks for posting this up.

Not just printing, but I think the old pirates are alot cooler. I think the new ones look a little <insert that tiresome argument>. Hate to say it but they remind me of that awful 4+ line.

Poll please? I was looking through my stuff last night while I was packing to head home for a few days and I was looking at the old figures from 1989-1997 and compared them to the ones in 2010. Some of the figs I got today and in terrible shape (quality). They are misprinted and the print has a running-like look to it. When I looked at the figs from 15-20 years ago, I realized not only are they better quality, but I think they are cooler and better looking. I feel like the new figs are all so different that in the big picture they are the same whereas the old ones are the exact opposite. Thinking about it, to this day my favorite fig still is the one from 1747 Treasure Surprise. Timeless!

This set just came in the mail from ebay... I got it for $3.00 and it is in mint condition. It is great I love it, awesome addition for the army with the accessories cannon balls flag boat etc... I would get another one for the right price. Perfect Navy buider.

Nope, I only got one in that set. Looks like it is a matter of luck. I'll take it.

I just got this set along with the Wizard yesterday... I ended up getting 2 extra plumes for the helmets (2 red 2 green). I think it was only supposed to include 2 not 4? either way I was happy used them on a ship I was converting last night.

Def. understood and I want to change the 3mm tubes and chain but I am at school and my pieces are at home. I plan on further fixing it when I am done. As for the holes, I like them, I wasn't looking for anything realistic when I made it. Thanks for the insight though, I will keep it in mind if I ever decide to change it and go with something more realistic. As for the blunderbuss its fairly simply. Take one flintlock rifle and cut off the barrel by the trigger. Then trim down the nozzle to likings and super glue. Finally let it dry overnight and take a nail file and make the barrel smooth at the area it was connected. Then trim the stock. It was pretty easy overall, I was awake one night in my dorm room with nothing to do and decided to try it when Deadliest Warrior was on... If you have a few rifles you want to customize, I certainly think it is worth it.

Ok so... Here is my dilemma. I have a choice of 3 sets to buy here they are... I need some help, I don't know which one I want! Price does not really influence this, it is just to show Sabre Island is not as expensive as the others, etc. Forbidden Island - Most Forbidden Cove - Middle Sabre Island - Cheapest I was curious which set I should choose given the circumstances. I like all of them but when it comes down to it I can only buy one. Curious which one it should be! Please help...

LEGO 8684 Minifigures Series 2 (Official Pictures)
Cpt. Dan replied to GRogall's topic in Special LEGO Themes
This may be a dumb question but where will/is Series 1 and 2 being distributed in the US? I gotta find the cowboy robin hood and spartan haha. -
Figured it out! Now it's time for bed. Work is lurking early in the morning... Bring it on Imperials

I got fairly bored of the sails on the BB and I decided to do my own without the stripes and new Jolly Roger logo from TLG. I went with black because I felt like my crew and myself were tougher and more intimidating. This is my version with a few tweaks to the ship. Personally I think it came out pretty well and I can't wait to have the time for some pillage and raid the Soldeier's Fort and steal their gold and rum. New Sails for BB I couldn't upload the pics to the site so I just made a flikr for this one. It is worth a look (I hope) and I was looking for some feeback from the Pirate experts here! Hope you enjoy. Dan

Signed. Probably one of the best and pure lines lego has ever come out with.
