LEGO Prince of Persia Month - the Eurobricks Contest
Asterios replied to Svelte's topic in LEGO Licensed
Actually i've come up with some good multiple catagory entries on other sites and have won prizes in them too. I've done bridge fight scenes castle siege scenes, my problem is which one to do, just from the first I heard of this contest already had 3 designs in my head for the first catagory alone and now have to decide on which one to do since whether by themselves or a bunch entered by me they will still be the same design. (but the no Brickforge items killed 2 other designs I thought of that I was already working on). -

oh crud just reread rules and noticed no BF or BA items(thats gonna hurt) and only one entry per catagory, so have to slim it down and decide(was going to do about 3 for the first catagory) -
LEGO Prince of Persia Month - the Eurobricks Contest

So basically anything Ancient persian looking will work? if so that opens up a whole new world of opportunities and will work with what I have. -
the movies were around the second world war, but alot of 2nd. rate and 3rd. rate countries had out dated military vehicles like the tank which is from the 1st. world war.

LEGO Prince of Persia Month - the Eurobricks Contest
Asterios replied to Svelte's topic in LEGO Licensed
does it have to tie in with the movie or can it be like an alternate version with like crusader knights in it? reason I ask is never played the games or saw the movie so clueless on whats in them. as it goes i'm ready to start designing, already got a head start on PoP sets: actually have 2 of the Alamut sets along with a market set and 2 desert attack sets. -
Review: Desert Attack (The second opinion)
Asterios replied to Daniel Williams's topic in LEGO Licensed
This whole series is very useful for the Crusades since it now gives us many types for Saracen's from Camels, to the cool horse and the soldiers with the conical hat and even the lead character is useful as a basic Saracen trooper, the only down side is that they are flesh colored as opposed to yellow color. -
They can't handle the truth.

ok heres some pics of crusaders: Templars (everybody either loves em or hates em): on the left you have the brother-at-arms and on the right you have the Sergeantbrother-at-arms, a general misconception of artists and movies and such always places the cross on their tunic in the middile, this is not correct, the Templar distinctive red cross was always over their left breast, crusaders with red crosses centered were not Templars but other crusading knights, same goes for their shields below you can see 2 types of Templar shields, notice no big red crosses, the order was not given into flashy showmanship and such on their tunics or shields, unlike the occasional mercenaries they hired. Hospitallers: on the left you have the brother-at-arms and on the right you have the Sergeantbrother-at-arms Teutonics: Order of Jerusalem and Ibelin: these designs were taken from the movie kingdom of heaven more pictures seen here: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=417871 most crusader designs(except for Jerusalem and Ibelin) taken from the Osprey series of books.

I always thought this was Beowolf? Sorry but the general concensus on those 2 items is 1: if their real they are way over priced and would sell for about 1/10th of the asking price. 2: still no confirmation from LEGO or anyone else of authority to their authentication, also the battle mace I've seen somewhere else and not from LEGO, in fact think I owned one and might still have it somewhere.
