  1. +1 for nk4002r - truly a gentleman
  2. Bricktrain - Thanks for the update. How do you go about placing an order if you want to pay in $NZ by Bank transfer? Callum - would it be possible to have the minimum purchase amount for your store lowered? Thanks again for making your parts available to those of us who are in need...:) cheers Nick
  3. While I'm not collecting at the moment, I'd certianly be in the market of any spare viking figures Cheers Nick
  4. For those in the Auckland region, visited Warehouse Albany and saw series 4 minifigs on the shelves there. Also they have about 20 little red car kits (8402) reduced to clear at 9-95 with an additional 50% off all clearance for a total cost of $4-98 each.
  5. Hey, thanks for the heads up on the 30% Farmers sale! I'd have missed out on picking up the log cabin for a very good price if it hadn't been for you guys.... :) Anyone else get a bargain? Cheers Nick
  6. +1 to nk4002r - truly a great member to deal with
  7. All our thoughts and prayers to those in Christchurch at this time
  8. Welcome aboard White Nun, I'm another ex wargamer (both board and Games Workshop), ex RPG player and recently renewed LEGO fan of castle and viking LEGO. Looking forward to seeing you round the forums too. Cheers Nick
  9. Reds, Blues and Yellows can also come in useful for MOC'ing, particularly with some of the more advanced construction techniques out there for buildings (e.g. tudor style buildings). Red is also good for Brick (as opposed to stone) buildings. Blue, brown and green bricks and tiles are also very useful for landscaping. Re: TM job lots, my experience has been that big piles of coloured bricks isn't really the problem, it is the large pile of specialised bricks/parts (esp. from more recent sets) that can't really be used for much else (e.g. I had some 10x10 trans orange discs with printing on from a SW set which were useless for a castle fan). My experience has also been that if you know what you want to get, then Bricklink is often a cheaper bet than TM -particularly if all you want is parts, as there are many sellers out there who have discounted prices if you want to order in bulk. TM job lots really are pot luck and often heavily competed for, which generally makes less value for money than BL. The few TM bulk auctions I have really gone hard for have been ones were I have identified specific parts from specific sets (generally old ones) I've been interested in, and purchased in hope of getting most of the set. Even then, I've almost always had to go to BL to get parts to complete the sets. As for spray paint - wash thy mouth out....;) Cheers Nick
  10. a big +1 to NK4002R for a great trade
  11. Is there anyone out there that regularly, or in the near future intends to shop at an off shore BL store, who would be willing to add a few extra items to their order? I need a few parts that seem to be common offshore, but no-one in NZ has them, and it is not really cost effective for me to buy what I need then pay 4-5 times that in shipping and foreign currency exchange and transfer fees etc. anyone able to help, please drop me a note. Thanks in advance Nick
  12. If it was the toy place on Bush Rd (Pipsqeaks) in the north harbour industrial estate, don't bother. They only have LEGO imitators. Cheers Nick
  13. Just been to Toyco in St.Lukes to check out their range, and while I'm not to impressed with their everyday pricing, some of their specials are ok. Most of the LEGO is currently at 25% off, but a couple of items caught my eye: The city advent calendar is $35 and for your SW types the 10195 republic drop-ship, which they are selling for $250 (they claim its a 50% reduction) All the PoP stuff also seems to be 50% off too Cheers Nick
  14. Hey CF, if you are still in Albany, why not just catch a bus into Browns Bay? According to MAXX, the 880 will drop you off almost right outside the toyworld there. Cheers Nick [edited to remove double post error)
  15. Hi there all, a couple of questions for the SW guys out there: 1) Does anyone have a YELLOW Jabba Slave princess Leia minifig they are interested in parting with? 2) Is anyone interested in some of the unique/rare parts from a Wookie attack SW set? (I recent purchased a bulk lot off TW for the castle/viking stuff and the SW stuff was mixed in with it) The parts I have are: The two 10x10 printed discs about 30 of the tank treads the modified 4x4 dish and the hemisphere dome that goes with it plus some other odds and ends sorry NO minifigs The two questions are independent....lol Cheers Nick
  16. When I spoke to Toy planet, I was informed that they were told that seeing as the final HP movie is out, HP is therefore on its last legs, and therefore there wouldn't be any demand for HP lego - so LEGO NZ didn't bother to bring any more HP lego into NZ.... go figure Cheers Nick
  17. Toy planet in Takapuna has about 8 of them behind the counter. Spoke to them today and they say that those are the last city advent calendars they're getting, and no retailer in NZ got the kingdoms advent calendar....<gloom> guess I'll have to try trademe cheers Nick
  18. Does anyone know if the 2010 kingdoms advent calender (7952) is available in NZ. I have seen the city calender around, but not the kingdom one. cheers Nick
  19. Toyworld Browns Bay had them the last time I was there. Cheers Nikkiwi
  20. Minifig Update: The Warehouse Glenfield mall now has the minifigs. They're on the shelves with the rest of the lego, and there was 2 opened boxes as of midday today. Cheers Nikkiwi (+1 cheerleader)
  21. Hi there, Imperial Flagship was at Toyworld BB last time I was there. Cheers Nikkiwi PS: Fantastic result for the All Whites, if not the greatest of games to watch.
  22. News from the Shore.....The Warehouse Albany has minifgs by the front checkouts, but only in front of one checkout, and extremely limited numbers. Toyworld Browns Bay is the place to go for minifigs. Speaking to the Manager there this AM (while putting the GE and FS on Layby), I was informed that they had ordered over 600 in the latest shipment, and still had about 400 out back!!! Ron, maybe you could get in touch with TW BB and see if they'll send you some.... Cheers Nikkiwi (added 1x nurse and 1x cheerleader to the collection)
  23. And a +1 for Legoman - A scholar and a gentleman....
  24. Yes...But from 2 different boxes. No Minifgs at the Warehouse Glenfield mall (although they are having a 20% sale on lego, so the shelves were pretty bare in general) Cheers Nikkiwi
  25. Don't worry, you won't have been the first....I can guarantee it.... Cheers Nikkiwi (2 forestmen, 1 wrestler, 1 zombie, 1 ninja)
