OK, I feel convinced that it is not necessarily a good idea to have that. -
Hehe, yeah. But the problem is that getting old stuff gets pricy quickly :-(

Pretty cool! Looks big and nasty. The wings seem to be a bit small, compared to the rest, but feedin' keeps it growin' ;-)

Well, of course everybody should be able to decide whether he/she/it wants to get the MOC ranked. I was just thinking that I like some of my MOC more than the others I did and I would like to see whether other people think the same way. Anyways, not a big deal. What about the [set] tag ;-) -
I don't know if there are coders with time / interest among the admins, but I would propose some extensions to the forum. I think having a [set]3456[/set] tag would be nice. It could be expanded automatically into a a small box with to links to brickset, bricklink price guide or the proper lugnet entry, along with its name. Another thing I think would be usefull to add some kind of poll/ranking system to threads in the MOC forum. This way, one could get feedback, lets say on scale from 0 to 10. What do you think?

Play with Lego or Build with Lego

Well, I am also used to play computer games, board games, trading card games.... So LEGO is just another brick ;) -
Play with Lego or Build with Lego
ScottManDeath replied to SirScottLego's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I suck at painting. I suck at writing. I suck at *insertartisticcrafthere* I don't suck at being creative. I don't suck at building with LEGO to express my creativity. I mean, I am doing research for my degree, so therefore, I have to have to be at least somewhat creative. ;-) So building and playing with LEGO is just another way of being myself. And I don't care what other people think about me. -
[MOC a set](7250 Scout Walker) Dinosaur
ScottManDeath replied to ScottManDeath's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I try to use as many parts as I can make to fit. Here, there were a dozen parts left, which yielded an ugly looking hover tank with a waaay to large gun. I didn't like it to much, so no pix. :-$ -
I took Scout Walker The upper part of the shield looked like a face, so I had to make it into a dinosaur. The neck and the head can rotate pretty freely to grab the yummy snack.

LEGO set surveys ain't for nothing
ScottManDeath replied to ScottManDeath's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I think I was pretty neutral, but I gave reasonable answers. -
Yes, even with the correct spelling (tth, most common, vs th and tt ;-)) I got me on sale for 4 bucks. :-)

LEGO set surveys ain't for nothing
ScottManDeath replied to ScottManDeath's topic in General LEGO Discussion
It tells that at the last page of the manual, that one can win stuff when doing the survey. But apart from that, I was lucky :-) -
LEGO set surveys ain't for nothing

Yeah, I was pleasantly surprised. I didn't expect such a big set. Now I have enough motivation to do the surveys for the other sets I got since then :-) -
[MOC a SET](Battlewagon 8874) Excavator
ScottManDeath replied to ScottManDeath's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Thx. It took me a while to figure out how to make the cabin rotatable, also the arm went through some revisions. Both are not that stable, but they do their job ;-) -
[MOC a SET](Battlewagon 8874) Excavator
ScottManDeath replied to ScottManDeath's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Hehe, thx :) I am about to upload more pictures to brickshelf.... so there will be more abused bricks ;) -
Thx. So far, it seems to be a fun place :)
-
Out of neccessity (getting more sets takes some time) and out of fun (after all, limitations increase creatitcivy) I like to "abuse" sets to build something something that is possibly out of theme. In this case, I took Lord Vladeks battlewagon and made it into an excavator. The cabin rotates fully and the arm with the "spoon" can move like the original. And there is an angry looking driver, as he is only paid minimum wages and isn't in the union ;)

In summer, I got a small viking set, and I dunno what made me to do it, but I filled out the survey pointed to at the last page of the manual. Three weeks ago, I got an email asking for my address, and one week ago, I got a paket from Billund with a Ferrari model inside :D I think I made a fair trade, a $20 set, plus 10 mins of clicking, earning me a $70 set Am I not a lucky bastard *sweet*
-
Hello world, after lurking here for a while, I finally registered, though I think I will stay mostly a lurker 8-| Anyways, my decade of abstinency ended in Summer, as I saw the green dragon (Mythical Creatures) set in the LEGO store in Santa Clara. It took me two attempts to buy it, but I won over myself eventually. During summer, I got most of the other animal Creator sets, and I thought, that would be it. But then, my Evil Bastard Brother From Hell gave me the viking set* with the red dragon and the ballista for my birthday, and from then, everything went downhill X-D Now I have the complete Viking collection (except the chess game, which I will get for xmas). Being done with collecting Vikings (one big S@H order :-$) I am now collecting Knights Kingdom II (please no rants, the first and only king bears my real name), as well as the KKII action figures. As I am a bit to late of collecting all StarWars sets (the AT AT is at $274 a@bricklink, WTF?!); I am just going to get sets I like. Greetings SMD * well, I wont complain; I happened to fill out the survey in the booklet, and was drawn as a winner. Last week, I got this Ferrari as a prize
