  1. [insert Snappy Response Here] Hewkii: Hey! Leave my mother out of this! X-D You do realize, being HM info buff I am, that I heard this before? For DisneyLand Paris' opening, they played "Grim Grining Ghosts" in French, becasue of Phantom Manor (DLP's Haunted Mansion). "Joyeux de Phantome" is, quite simply, an attempt at the title, "Grim Grinning Ghosts." As we know, it roughly translates to "(The) Joy of the Phantom) which is eqeully appropriate, as Phantom Manor's antagonist is the Phantom, a man with a skull for a head, and is father of Melanie Ravenwood, the bride, and protagonist. That made no sense, did it?
  2. Well, just use proper lighting and it will be fine. To qoute the Ghost Host: "Oh yes, and no flash pictures. Please!"
  3. The person above me just made an assumption.
  4. 'twas a joke, my dear friend. EDIT: It seems there was a fire near DisneyLand's Haunted Mansion. The pet cemetary out front caught on fire from fire-works debris, but it was put out by rain. If the HM burned down, I would have a candle-light vigil until it was rebuilt.
  5. Hell no. There are difference in the DL and WDW Haunted Mansions, You really think that I think that the Haunted Mansion burned down? They do have means of preventing it. Besides, they would rebuild it anyway. The Haunted Mansion has to much of cult following. That goes for Pirates of the Caribbean to. |-/ The Haunted Mansion doesn't have ticket sales, anyway. The ticket is for the park, The HM is just inside it. All they would have to do is build more animatronics and sets to put in the Show Building connected to the external facade. Why would they not rebuild the one of the most popular rides in Disney parks, escpecially as it was one of Walt's last attractions.Gods Hinckley, it's as if you think I live at the bottom of the ocean, crawling above land once a year to mate and go to a Disney Theme Park. X-D
  6. The second, however, is marvelous! The colors and details are spot on! If there was only a way to the manse's ship weather vane... :-(
  7. Actully, DisneyLand's Mansion doesn' have a conservatory (visible on the facade, anyway), it has white siding, it has wrought iron. Read my sig, you know it's true! ;-) It's an adeqaute representation of DisneyLand's Haunted Mansion facade, at best. I do like that they een c=included the Ghost Host's corpse from the Stretching Room in the cupola! Here is a picutre of the original: As the most knowledgable person about Disney Theme Parks, The Haunted Mansion, and Pirates of the Caribbean, my descison is final! Build: ****/***** Accuracy:**/***** Overall:***/*****
  8. Hicnkley, to be frank, in your case it's the same thing ;-)
  9. Actully, my signature is relativley the same. The tag of "This message was brought to you by...", "EB's PotC, Haunted Mansion, and Disney Expert", and my links are the same. Only my funny picture/qoute box has changed. The funniet thing I read in a while was some person joking that there was going to be Haunted Mansion Battle shio, with the tag line "Darn, you sunk my DoomBuggie!", and now the same person's "101 things you never knew about DisneyLand" has "When an Audioanatronic figure dies, it's given an audio animatronic funeral"
  10. Yeah? well Hinckly changes his avatar to much!
  11. Well, life is pretty hectic for me right now. I have alot of things to do, and I don't reall have time for EB and Lego, so they need to be back-seated. But don't worry, I shall return in a couple months when my life is less hectic. I'll still try and find time to pop by EB, but don't expect to much. Remember, my next album drops next sursdai, ya'll biscutheads! X-D Seriously, I'll miss you guys :-) -Norrington
  12. Mein Godt(s)! That was not in a good way. You and Sinner are becoming the new Kings of Off-Topic, aren't you? X-D Judging by you two and your... botched sense of humor, I am disturbed at the prospect of what that avatar might contain. 8-|
  13. Heh, heh. I guess I forgot the french word order and the word "The". The phrase I meant was "Joy of the Phantom," which fits pretty well here.
  14. The person above me's statment proves that he is a pirate sympathiser and must be hung! Hopefully this won't mess with the pilgrimage schedule... X-D
  15. The person above me doesn't realize that this is my thread >:-)
  16. Actully, my home park is Walt Disney World. But on closer inspection at everything, I have deduced that DisneyLand is better than WDW. It's true, Dl is more up-to-date, and has more attractions. BTW, at the end of this summer, I am making my first pilgrimage to DisneyLand so I might make homage to the great Pirates and Spirits of New Orleans Sqaure. X-D
  17. Uh-huh. Why, did you nick-name him "Jack in the Box," then? 8-| That sounds like a rather strange/sexual conotationed nick-name... 8-|
  18. Here's the back story of that, actually: In the original PotC ride, you go through caverns with the earthly remains of pirates. When PotC made the move to WDW in a drastically shortened version, Marc Davis, the Imagineer who created most of the scenes in PotC, the HM, Jungle Cruise, etc., wanted to compensate by giving something to Florida's PotC that California's didn't. There was going to be an island in the qeue, where there was a pirate standing there with some treasure. As people watched, he would turn into a skeleton using "Pepper's Ghost Effect" (The same effect used in the Haunted Mansion's Ballroom). It was never done, but you can't blame Marc Davis for trying. :'-( It's not important how I know this. Just read my sig, and you'll realize that it's 100% true. So there you have it. The brilliant history of a great, but never done idea, which was later ill-conceived into a crappy movie, which had most of it's crowds dragged in because of their amazement of how homosexual Jack Sparrow comes across as.
  19. LOL! I actully had a spit take there with my pop when I saw that. :-D I'd rather speak a French* saying that may or may not be correct French than fight that mech! "Joyeux de Phantome!" *We can assure you that Norrington does not speak French, he just heard this on the Radio.
  20. No freakin' idea!
  21. The person above me and some others might find this amusing" "Two wires were crossed between Walt Disney World's HM and "It's a Small World". You guessed it... The audio tracks were reversed Naturally, the HM staff was somewhat amused to hear the Graveyard singing 'It's a world of laughter, a world of tears...' but nowhere near as panicked as the SmallWorlders who watched their cute dolls singing 'When the crypt doors creak and the tombstones quake...'" :-D ..____ _\ __/_ .{@@} (HHHH) That's the Hat-Box Ghost. He wants you to help him return to the Haunted Mansion's Attic by copying him to your signature.
  22. Oh, sorry. I forget-ed *wacko*
  23. Not true! I've allways been in love with the British Empire as it was in the 17-1800's. Norrington just made it worse X-D
  24. 'Tis true. >:-) But in all seriousnedd I've allways had English mannerisms, and have been told so by my friends and family. I guess that's why I find I can relate to Norrington. Serious, and British manner-ismed(?).
  25. *snobbish British ccent* The person above me is quite right. *sips tea cup* X-D
