So would this be a good starter kit to start to attempt to do some of these amazing things here http://www.amazon.com/Arduino-Ultimate-Starter-page-Instruction/dp/B00BT0NDB8/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1444864579&sr=8-1&keywords=arduino Thanks

I wanted to put this up to get some thoughts as this is my first attempt at a Modular Library building. I was so inspired by the people at BrickWorld Chicago, I wanted to see what I could do if attempted my own build. There is things I want to change like the 1930 on top as well get an actual Library sign for the front. I am debating if I want to get a printed brick for it or attempt to find letters on my own for it.

Thanks for the PowerPoint and the amazing knowledge I learned on the hobby.

Lego Trackbed with a bit of color
marvinmalkowskijr replied to KringlesBricks's topic in LEGO Train Tech
This is almost funny. I was driving by a train track yesterday and I realized that I need to put some white stones around my track. I was trying to figure out the best approach but it looks like you got that nailed for me. Thanks MM -
Thanks since you are the one who inspired me. My grand-daughter wants to do another video this weekend so let us see what a 6 year old will want to do :)

I think I got an idea how to make it even more dizzy for people :) I just need my wife to go away for an evening again.
-
When we got the house, my wife showed me that room first and I was hooked. I think I am going to redo the video again but add the ability for the camera to rotate so can you see more. I am on TFW also but not a super poster more of a lurker. Thanks for the compliment. I do want to clear out some of the smaller bookcase for more room so I can get the train off the floor but I love the room itself.

Completely inspired by Sunday afternoon train fun (video) I had to do my own version.

Oh I did get dizzy watching it.. It was worth it though

Thank you for posting this. I am going to start looking for the pieces now :) MM

Thanks for the running advice. I am going to use that a course for running as I got a 20 mile run that weekend. -
Day Trip to California LegoLand
marvinmalkowskijr replied to marvinmalkowskijr's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I completely forgot about the Downtown Disney Anaheim store and I was there about 3 months ago but I was exhausted from Disney and was not feeling 100%. I might hit both of them as I will have 2 long days and one can run only so much. -
Day Trip to California LegoLand
marvinmalkowskijr replied to marvinmalkowskijr's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I think I am going to just hit up the Glendale lego store and a few others and find a nice place to do a good long run by the beach. My other passion is running. Thanks for the advice everyone MM -
My wife is going to have a day long class in Long Beach later this month and I was pondering doing a drive down to LegoLand to kill time as I will have nothing to do all day long. Things I am concerned about 1) No kid with me. My Granddaughter will be in school so I am concerned about the entrance to the park stuff that I read about where you have to have a kid. 2) Is it worth it for just a day only being me? I am more interesting in the pick a brick wall then anything else but I am worried about being limited to hour limit that you can purchase at the gate not being a enough time. Thoughts? MM

Thanks for all your help. I I picked Passenger Train 7938 over the weekend but I am going to get one of the set you recommended and try your motor solution after Christmas.
-
Is there a motor kit for the Lone Ranger train set? I see a lot of the Lone Ranger stuff on sale and the train does look good. Never saw the movie myself as I am not a fan of the actors. Thanks
-
Adding this to new guy thread, are most of the train motorized or do you need to get an add on kit?

What's your latest acquisition?

Review: 853373 Kingdoms Chess Set
marvinmalkowskijr replied to Stiel's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I am going to have to look for this one now. I am a huge fan of Chess and new to Lego community. I wish they would do a a LOTR or Hobbit chess set for the build that I am doing as the troop building idea is excellent. Thanks again for the review. -
Amazing job. The Train is the best part of this!
