  1. I wanted to build a geisha in vibrant kimono, and an another samurai character to accompany her. A tea ceremony scene felt natural way to do it. It was going to take place in a tea house or a pavillion at first, but as I didn't have parts for the walls in this scale, I changed the setting into a garden. The geisha also became a maiko, an apprentice geisha, as they wear more detailed attire. Vibrant and rugged colour scheme and details on two different sides of the creation reflect the character's nature and class; the maiko is surrounded by flowers, and the samurai's swords rest on the rocks beside him. More pictures and talk on my blog.
  2. My entry to Legacy Contest, new version of 9448 Samurai Mech. It has been made as an official Legacy set, 70665 THE Samurai Mech, but the retake felt inferior compared to original. I wanted to enhance the samurai armour feel of the original's silhouette, keeping some key elements like round, kabuto-like cockpit, spinner crown on chest, cowcatcher shoulder pads with cannons and the weapons, while re-imaginin completely the blocky legs and making the helmet more helmet-like. I felt actual grim face on the cockpit would look imposing and unsettling on a huge mech, striking fear to enemies. The hinged cockpit opens, revealing Samurai X piloting the mech. Her katana is stored under the mech's plate skirt armour. And yes, the mech has knee joints. Thanks for watching and thanks to Peppermint_M for organizing this inspiring contest! -Eero/Pate-keetongu

    Japanese Castle

Hi there! Long time, no see. I've been inactive for a couple of years, not posting or anything. I haven't stopped building LEGO though, so I present to you my latest MOC! It's a Japanese castle, as you can see, inspired by a certain real life castle (can you guess which one?). Sorry for the shitty pictures. I don't really have the tools or know-how to take good pictures. I might try to take some better pictures eventually, but for now I just want to share my MOC with you guys. :) It's not completely finished since I want to expand it by adding more baseplates, but this section is done. You can remove a couple of the floors but it's kind of a hassle.

    [MOC] Battle of Nagashino, 1575

Hello! I'm happy to present you MOC about Japanese history! The Battle of Nagashino (長篠の戦い Nagashino no Tatakai) took place in 1575 near Nagashino Castle on the plain of Shitarabara in the Mikawa Province of Japan. Takeda Katsuyori attacked the castle when Okudaira Sadamasa rejoined the Tokugawa, and when his original plot with Oga Yashiro for taking Okazaki Castle, the capital of Mikawa, was discovered. Nobunaga's skillful use of firearms to defeat Takeda's cavalry tactics is often cited as a turning point in Japanese warfare; many cite it as the first "modern" Japanese battle. Seeking to protect his arquebusiers, which he would later become famous for, Nobunaga built a number of wooden palisades in a zig-zag pattern, setting up his gunners to attack the Takeda cavalry in volleys. Forces of Oda Nobunaga and Tokugawa Ieyasu. Forces of Takeda Katsuyori. Thanks for watching!
  5. The Samurai Code represents an ancient Japanese village in Feudal Japan. The courtyard on top of the grand stair case has a samurai dojo, shinto shrine, and Japanese bell. Stunning waterfalls, ponds, rivers, caves, rice fields, volcano, and Japanese characters throughout. Play features like power functions and zip line. Illuminates with LED lights. Please support my Idea project! 6. I really love the 2019 Ninjago Legacy sets, but the Samurai Mech is sadly an exception. Not many details, little articulation and not much to look at. I bought the set anyway because i like the minifigures and i planned on beefing this thing up a little bit. Have a look at the new Samurai Mech with improved articulation and more details. Like the original, i got inspired by the iconic samurai armor. The skeleton of the mech made from the mech frame piece (introduced with the Nexo Knights Battle Suits) and Mixels balljoints as limbs. These are covered with various layers of bricks to make it look like a heavy armored samurai. Because of the somewhat bulky arms and legs, articulation is still a bit limited but the mech can be posed without problems and it´s well balanced. 7. I can´t be the only one who looks at pictures of upcoming and new Lego sets and thinks about details that could have been better or changed....and then you start building your own. Well, this is basically what happened when i saw the new 2019 Ninjago Samurai Mech.A simple little build where most parts are slapped against a single 2x8 (or longer) plate as a backbone. A bit stiff and void of much details is that little mech, isn´t it? Well,i fired up LDD and tried making a version that´s similar in size but comes with a bit or articulation and details. Ninjago - Samurai X Mech-1 I used the versatile and easy to use Nexo Knights mech suit frame and build a small Samurai Mech around it.Notable parts of the original will be reused (including the decorated pieces). My version also has a bit more articulation, especially in the legs.Balljoint points are at the hip,the knee and the connection to the feet, and each foot can move the front half of the foot a bit and has some small adjustable rear "toes" Ninjago - Samurai X Mech What do you guys think of my version? Any advice or things you would change?

    [MOC] The New Shogunate

The last samurai of the old rule is challenged by the warrior of The New Shogunate. This was built for a Finnish LUG contest with the theme "The new meets the old". I had wanted to build a samurai for some time now so this seemed like a good idea. The whole scene became a lot larger than I had intended - these are 30 cm (one foot) thall figures, so the environment needs to be big... More can be found on my blog Cyclopic Bricks.

Have you found a better samurai warriors display than this one? If so please share a link to it. LEGO Akai Shiro Castleground MOC by ACPin
  10. Some of you may remember Samurai Samukai, a MOC which I posted here back in June. I was planning to do a follow-up build in the same scale, with Pythor being a ninja (as the natural counterpart of the samurai). However, other projects kept me busy and then I lost motivation, so I shelved the project. To my surprise though, Samurai Samukai turned out to be one of my most popular MOCs of my display at Brickmania Antwerp, many kids enthusiastically told their parents that they knew him from Ninjago. And so, I decided to try an upscaled Pythor. Snake Emperor Pythor In the end, I've stuck more to the show than my original plan, but I'm fine with that. Green Samurai Samukai I swapped out the blue and updated Samurai Samukai with green parts that were introduced in the Ninjago summer wave. Side by side Thank you for looking! C&C very much appreciated!

    Obashi Mist Dragon

Hey all! Here's a dragon I designed recently as a prize in my Second Dragon-Building Contest. He's my first Asian-style dragon, and I'm pretty happy with how he turned out! Meet Obashi the mist dragon. All the above images link to their larger versions on my Flickr. You can also check out a few more pictures over there. Thanks for looking!
  12. Hello to all. My daughter lives and breathes Ninjago, therefore so do I. Ninjago has maybe even pushed aside pirates as my favorite theme. The Temple of Airjitzu is one of my top three all time favorite sets and after building it I was inspired to design a feudal style Japanese Samurai house and small tea house in LDD. It seemed logical that all of this needed to be on one table including 70728 and 70756. So after a trip to the hardware store and a couple of bricklink orders we (i mean she)had an expanded ninjago city table that is 80 studs by 128 studs. Presently we are watching Day of the Departed hence I thought it was a good time to share this. Dragon's eye views Upgraded version of 70756 Dojo Showdown (here it is called Dareth's Dojo) Tea House Wu's abode ( basically a redo of ToA blacksmith shop in white that's slightly modded) Wu's abode (interior) Lloyd keeping an eye on things Samurai House (open back for playability) first floor second floor (armor and weapons) Third floor (bedroom) (ToA garage door element based roof technique done slightly different) (garage door element roof just done different) view from inside Random samurai
  13. Somewhere in a realm similar to Ninjago, yet quite a bit different... Samukai The honoured shogun of the kingdom of Samurago, is getting ready to lead his troops into battle. What enemy is he up against? Well, according to his loyal spy, it's a skeletal serpentine pirate.. creature. Whatever... Pirathor D. Skellington I've finally come around posting this build. Pirathor is just a tablescrap build, though, but I thought I'd include him anyway. C&C appreciated!

    Shogun castle

My second favourite lego series is lego samurai. This castle won the 1st prise in 2011in the all Russia Lego Competition To my mind samurai castles of late 1990-s were the best among LEGO Castles. Have a look at mine. C&C are welcome.
  15. Hi All, I would like to present my latest experiment, an extreme off-roader mini Samurai - yes, another one . The goal of this project was to see, what is the tiniest chassis I can build, with suspension, steering, and 4x4 drivetrain. I succeed to shrink down to 10 studs width, and for that I built the chassis and the body. The position of the IR receiver might be "illegal", I couldn't place it in LDD, but in reality it works without any problem. Well, the result is quite fine, but the front axle is not stable enough, too much slack left in it, and the gears can slip under hevier load. I tried to reinforce with rubber band, which brought some improvement, but not as much, as I was hoped for. Maybe one day I will build a completely new one, although as it is, pulling a 42043 is no problem for this tiny monster. The rest of it pretty stable, so all in all I am happy with it. Features: 1 XL motor, 1 Servo motor, MiniZip cable, 9V battery, weighs round 460 gramms. HERE You can download the LXF file. I hope You enjoy!

    Burning Tranquility

The remote Rakath village known as the Gardens of Tranquility was certainly less than tranquil. Smoke drifted lazily into the sky, fire burning in the trees and buildings. The Spire pyromancer had struck suddenly, his host of orcs springing from the bamboo. Shadowmere's eminent necromancer-mage, Krell had managed to rally the local samurai and ninjas in defense of the village, but he knew that it was simply a delaying tactic. The Spire's forces numbered in the hundreds, whilst Krell had only a handful of, admittedly skilled, warriors at his disposal. With a shout, Krell charged into the fray, wielding dread magic. The Spire would not walk away from this unwounded. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Another freebuild from myself. With all the happenings in Shadowmere, it's easy to forget that the Spire poses a very real threat to the everyday Nocturnian! Originally I'd hoped to use the new ghost ninjas from Ninjago as the ancestors of the ninjas, but it was too many trans colours! C+C welcome!
  19. Following the Bushido honor code, a disgraced Samurai is carrying out the Seppuku ritual. The Seppuku act consists of the Samurai warrior performing a ceremonial self-disembowelment in front of spectators. After the samurai is finished, he stretches out his neck for his kaishakunin (assistant) to decapitate him. The ritual is extremely violent. Blood is spilled all over the site of the act, even the white flowers have turned red...

  21. This is my 9th and final entry to this years Colossal Castle Contest. The category was "Miscellaneous - Large Creation". Bushido is a japanese word for the way of the samurai life, loosely analogous to the concept of chivalry. Samurais have been trained in outlying academies to learn this way of life and of course fighting with the sword. I hope you like my asian style and thanks for your comments and criticism ! 23. Here it is, my second MOC dedicated to my setting, Season of the cherry blossoms. This time, it's a board game for two players, with lots of minifigures and with the possibility to customize the playing map for endless fun. The game manual (be kind to me, it's home made) and building instructions (from LDD, so you know how they look like) can be found on my blog: http://seasonofthech...ego-board-game/ A gallery of photos: If you like it, and would like to support it, you can find it on LEGO Ideas:

    [MOC] Ambush on the bridge

Hi all! Here is a gallery of a MOC I've realized in LDD. It's part of a concept set in a fantasy feudal Japan, a setting I played with table-top RPGs some years ago. This is the first of a series, and my first project submitted for LEGO Ideas. A small gallery (more can be found at the LEGO Ideas page).
