  1. Has there been a comparable case of an elaborate Part in an expensive set that everywhere wants, such as the black horse barding in the joust? I have plans for a regiment which would need 4 of these and I am trying to estimate the costs in bricklink... What do you think? More like 7 Euro or more like 15 per piece?

Well, the cows are popular pieces, although there were two per set and the sets only cost ~$100, not $150. So, if you figure relative rarity of the barding is three times that of a cow (given the cost and # differences), I'd estimate Bricklink prices will start ~$20 and stabilize around $15 per barding.

On the other hand, the lion barding in 7946 can be had for ~$4, so that would intimate ~$6 for the joust barding. However, I think we can all agree the price will be considerably higher than that.

  2. I got an eldorado fortress and lagoon lock-up bundle.

A caribbean clipper, forbidden island, sabre island, and raft raiders bundle.

And a lot of 8 bluecoat soldiers.

I am very excited for them to arrive in the mail as these will be my first classic pirate official sets. I currently just have a poor-man's black seas barracuda I built from parts I had and some from bricklink, with many a color/part-swap in the build.

My plan is to focus on the bluecoats/pirates.

Eldorado Fortress and Lagoon Lock-Up should reach you soon. :pir_laugh2: Have fun!

  3. Checked today, nothing in my local Target. Also read a story on ToysnBricks about Halloween polybags discounted to $.39... and they all were still ringing up as $3.99 in my store.

No story ... I bought 90 polybags at Target yesterday for $0.39 apiece. 51 ninjas, 21 fire helicopters and 18 Atlantis subs. I paid for them using the Christmas giftcards. Free and cheap Lego for the win!

  4. I guess I was confused since he said in past years, which made me think that he thought the sets listed were from previous years, even though two are from this year.

I just wasn't sure if here knew what I assumed he knew.

Carry on, and I think a full sized ice rink would be cool.

    ???

The sets are from previous years. The theme started in 2009 with the Toy Shop, continued last year with the Bakery and this year's set is the Post Office. There is one per year. The holiday train, while not officially part of this theme, was released in 2007 and goes nicely with this too!

2012: I'd like to see a small house, or grotto.

  5. I just got the newest LEGO catalog yesterday and it had the post office and bakery in it, so are you guys speculating for Christmas 2012?

What else would you like to see in the future for the Winter Village? My prediction is it's going to be a church or a simple village home. What is your prediction?

  6. Well, since these people didn't read your instructions in the title of the thread (guide only, no comments) and it's already messy, I'll just point out someone needs to figure out a better solution for these guides. Perhaps so you can lock your thread whenever you'd like, so comments can be avoided...

In any case, I'm sure there is a better solution out there than strictly relying on people's reading comprehension.

EDIT: In other words, I am really enjoying the guide.

Edit again: This was moved from the other thread, along with a half dozen other posts...nice job mods!

I don't quite understand what you're saying here. Are you saying you only want to buy from those in Seattle, or at Brick Con? Or, are you saying that after you went to Brick Con, you realized you were interested in what you have listed?

  10. I am a reasonable person and therefore am withdrawing my complaint publicly. I will reserve judgement (for a while at least) regarding this entire issue until I receive (or do not) the sets I purchased.

I do have to say I now feel for the Eurobricks member that contacted me (Elderscroll, the unnamed member and I all know who s/he is), since I assume he had first dibs on this set (and since I purchased four sets, it sounds like he actually wanted the other three as well). I am unsure how to proceed - but the money has already been sent.
