Are we not getting a Neville this time? I still need one... :(
-
One would assume that Hagrid's Hut was not shown because it's going to be a store exclusive limited item, the same way that the limited sets for Star Wars aren't shown at Toy Fairs.

Those are AMAZING!!! How much of those minifigs parts--if any--are just regular parts and how many did you customize?

I have the 2010 Gremlin set, as it's my favorite little quirky vehicle from Halo Wars. It was an okay build and I like it because it's the Gremlin, but it really isn't very much fun to look at or put together. I didn't like the minifigs it came with either.

I bought 7754 Home One at Toys R Us today. I've been thinking about this set for a long time, and with the 33% off sale ending tomorrow that brought it down to $73 instead of $110, I just couldn't resist.

I have an unhealthy internet addiction. Luckily (or unluckily?), Eurobricks is part of it. So I'm on here waaaaaaay more than 10 times a day. Addictions... can't live with 'em, can't live without 'em... right?

What made you get out of your LEGO dark age?
MaxGoof replied to BearHeart's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I think my story will be a little different from most, as my LEGO dark age was pretty much my entire life. My parents never bought me Legos as a kid--ever--so at 26 I had never built a LEGO set. Ever. My wife and I bought our XBox 360 in Fall 2008 and it came bundled with LEGO Indiana Jones. I was transfixed with joy by the game, and ended up getting 7623 for Christmas from my parents-in-law. The last year-plus of my life has bordered on LEGO obsession. At first it took me ages to build the kits, but my skills are slowly, slowly evolving. Now I'm a 28-year-old enjoying his LEGO childhood with absolutely no regrets. None! [set 7623 is the Temple Escape for those who don't know the numbers without looking them up (like me). I still don't understand how some of the people on these boards have the astounding databases in their brains and can know a set by number alone!] -
Nope, licenses don't work that way. That would be AWESOME for Lego if it did work that way, but no. Legally, you have a set period of time (usually a couple months) in which to liquidate ALL of your old stock after a license expires, otherwise it has to be destroyed.

I truly think that Lego Indy is just going to take a break for a couple years until Indy 5 comes out. If they do all the cool remaining sets like the Tank and Grail Temple now, there will be NOTHING to support the sets from Indy 5 in a couple years. There are just not enough remaining sets to keep the theme going until Indy 5 comes out, IMO, so it's going on hiatus for a while.

Review: 7590 Toy Story Woody and Buzz to the Rescue
MaxGoof replied to Pugsly's topic in LEGO Licensed
This really does look great! Piece for piece the price is pretty bad, but this is definitely a must-have! This will be my first (and possibly only) Lego Toy Story purchase from the first batch of sets! -
I'm actually really torn on this set. I loved the idea of a buildable Zurg at first, but his body is made of so few pieces, and the pieces are all large--his appearance makes me feel like he's a Megablok or something instead of a high-quality Lego set...

I really think that we will get the Endor Landing Pad with the Imperial Shuttle. This would be awesome twofold: 1) It adds a little variety to the previous Imperial Shuttles we've received; 2) It builds another crucial scene in for Endor sets. I would LOVE to expand the Endor Bunker with a Landing Pad, especially if we're getting the Endor AT-AT later this year! The Landing Platform could have removable turrets for attacking the AT-AT with, as seen in the video games!

Things are the same here in Upstate NY. All Targets and Wal-Marts seem to have received one (or none!) shipments of the 2010 Legos, and they are not being replenished yet. Finding the TIE Defender is easy, but everything else (including the 2009 sets!) are rare. If I remember January 2009, it was empty like this as well. I think stores start to seriously be restocked/replenished in February onwards.

I'll probably buy this set as I need a Sandtrooper and a Tattooine Luke. However, I really wish that this set didn't come with the ubiquitous R2-D2 and C-3PO. I think it would have sold phenomenolly well to army-builders if they'd included a super-rare Jawa and Tusken Raider instead... Oh well. Maybe for the 4th Landspeeder release? ;)

Marvel please. With Batman complete, the richest part of the DC Universe has already been mined. I think there's a ton more interesting possibilities over at Marvel, including Blackbird Jets and Quinjets!

New Castle/Historical themes to replace the Fantasy theme.
MaxGoof replied to Emperor Claudius Rome's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I would adore a Wild West theme! I don't know how long it could go on for or how much set diversity there would be, but I definitely think this could be a lot of fun! -
I do not understand the argument that the final three Potter books/movies are too dark to be made into a video game/sets. We got a TON of sets for Revenge of the Sith as well as a game, and it is one of the bloodiest, darkest movies for "kids" ever. Dozens of characters people have grown to love are brutally killed including Mace Windu, Padmie, Aayla Secura, Plo Koon, Kit Fisto, Count Dooku, General Grievous, etc, etc, etc. Lego not only made that game, but made it FUN. It could have been deemed "too dark" and not made, but the programmers clearly know how to make even a dark story a lot of fun. Between riding broomsticks, mine carts in Gringotts, Quidditch matches, and so forth there's even enough material there for some good vehicle-based levels. Does anyone REALLY believe that Lego will end the Harry Potter game franchise with Book 4, wherein the ending is Harry's classmate being brutally murdered and the Dark Lord rising? If they can make that in a Lego game, they can certainly make Books 5-7.

I honestly can't see them charging $90 for the Slave-I. It's a mid-size ship like the Republic Attack Shuttle and Y-Wing, so I could see it pricing at $65-$70 US. But $90? There's just no way.

Are these promo sets expected to be part of holiday releases at Target like the Star Wars and Power Miners 2009 sets?
-
I would like Neville as well, but it seems extremely unlikely since this is called "Quidditch Lesson" and not "Flying Lesson", and Neville never plays Quidditch.

What in the world would Padme being pregnant at one point in the Saga have to do with her not ever getting another minifig? That makes ABSOLUTELY NO SENSE. We've gotten plenty of minifigs of Anakin, and he is the one who makes Padme pregnant, after all. I don't see Marion being blacklisted over in the Indiana Jones line, even though she was pregnant with Indy's baby, Shia Lebouf, who ALSO has minifigs. Are we to believe that Lego has something against MOTHERS? Ludicrous...
-
The new sets look pretty cool, but are we not getting Lego minifigs of Slinky Dog, Bo Peep and the Potato Heads? I know those properties don't belong to Lego, but surely something can be worked out??
-
Of course it's going to be available in the United States. When was the last time a Star Wars set wasn't released in America...?
-
It wasn't a huge year for me--at all--but I did manage to get some cool sets... Sets I Bought: Sets I Expect to Receive for Christmas: Not bad, for a modest collector like myself...
-
I really don't understand people who are loading up on these sets and selling them on ebay for $100 with free shipping. With tax, this set costs about $65 in the store. Ebay and Paypal fees will cost another $10-$12, and shipping will be anywhere from $12-$15 via USPS because of the size of the box. Factor in the gas and time to buy these and list them and drive to the post office and package them, and you're making like 10 bucks per set. Is it really worth that kinda trouble for so little return? Really?
