  1. But I really fear that whatever LEGO does, they won't be able to do the size of Smaug justice. Judging from the size of his head compared to Bilbo, a decently sized LEGO version would need to be at least 3 times bigger than the current Castle dragon. He could easily be a massive brick built set just himself.

Maybe a Smaug with the same size of the SuperStar Destroyer :classic:

  2. I would like to know that too but for French official Lego stores. And if they do, do you have to ask the employee or are will the tower be on the shelves?

I asked to the employee at the Lille LEGO Store and he said me that you'll have to ask it because the sets won't be on the shelves

  3. Cammo, there are shipping fees on Amazon.es :cry_sad:

I went to the Lille Lego Store today and bought "Doc Ock Ambush" + "Wizard Battle" to have Jor-El and I asked to the guy if it was possible to have the Tower of Orthanc before the 17th but he said me "No way"

The sets won't be on the shelves, you'll have to ask it to the staff

  4. I've seen a few people say they're waiting for double points to get Orthanc but (at Us retail) that's only going save you an extra $10. I would think another Jor-El bag would sell for more than that easily. So I'm not worried about waiting for another promotion, just figuring out when and how to put it in my budget.

Double Points or another polybag/offer because I'll have Jor-El saturday 1rst when I'll buy Battle At The Black Gate so no need to hurry for the Tower of Orthanc. As Cammo said, maybe it will be more interesting to wait a better price on Amazon BUT if there is a surprise (like a Radagast polybag  ) for the VIP on June 17th, I'll be among the firsts people at the opening of my LEGO Store.

  5. The reason the prices are so high is due to population differences. The US has a higher population, and get lower prices because more people can buy LEGO. Britain has a lower population, and prices have to go up because less people can buy LEGO sets. Same thing with France and Germany, etc.

That's right but today it's not about France, Germany, Belgium. etc but about Europe. I live in Lille and I often see german or dutch people in our LEGO Store. European people move a lot. I also often visit the LEGO Store in Koln (Germany) or in London and I know other AFOL's who do the same. So it shows that AFOL's are ready to travel to visit LEGO Store. They should consider the european market like just one big market and not several little ones.

  6. Thx for the heads up. But I will only pay a visit when the Orthanc Tower is available.

What are the Lille prices btw?

    The official prices:

    - 14.99 for the Wizzard Battle

    - 39.99 for the Council of Elrond

    - 59.99 for Battle at the Black Gate (if I remember well)

    - 99.99 for Pirate Ship Ambush

I saw them at Dreamland last weekend but to pricey !!!!

    - 17.99 for the Wizzard Battle

    - 44.00 for the Council of Elrond

    - 129.00 for Pirate Ship Ambush !!!

I won't buy the Tower of Orthanc too quickly because nothing offered for the VIP's on the 17th so I'll wait for a special offer or a "X2 points" day. I'll just buy the Pirate Ship the 1rst June to have the Jor-El Polybag.

  7. Hello there !

Many of you have noticed that they are 2 prices for the LEGO sets: the "US" prices and the "rest of the world" prices.

We are a lot, here, in Europe, to think that it not normal to pay for exemple 419 euros in Europe for the set 10188 when in the USA the price is 341 euros, including taxes so it means that there's a difference of 80 euros ! It also means that for the same amount in the US, we could have 2 or 3 sets instead of just 1 everywhere else in the world. I don't say that it's not fair, because prices in the US are already high, it's expensive for what we got (I know, quality, competition, etc...) but personally, I'd prefer to pay 400 euros for 2 sets like in the USA than to pay 350 euros only for 1 set.

TLC has always been close to its customers and very kind with them so I'm sure that if we had a lot of signatures on this petition, they could reconsider their prices for their prices.

Thank you for having read my topic and I wish you a nice day.

  8. It may have been said at some point before already so i apologize, but does anyone know, when the release date is for the sets in europe?

The guy at the LEGO Store said me for the 1rst June too (in the LEGO Stores) but it's already available in some other stores (TRU, Pikwik...) in France.

  9. Was just joking about having to do what Lego told me to do but I have the rule to just buy one of any set to keep the cost down, there have been lots of sets I have wanted 2 of and if I had got them all I would spend way to much so the rule helps me not get carried away in the moment of a good sale or set. With LOTR Lego sets you could buy two or more of all of them and moc a bigger set to make it look more like the real thing but I have to stop some where. With the black gate I will get 2 sets because unlike other sets that are just a bit smaller than they should be the black gate is missing a lot of it and the second tower is a must for me so im glad that it is made to have two so I feel better about breaking my rule and won't mean that now I buy 2 of everthing. I need the rule to stop me buying too much. Do other people have rules for this reason?

I have the same rule: I want to buy just one of each set, never add even just a minifig when I'll display them all but if in the Black Gate instructions they show 2 Black Gates so I can buy 2 Black Gates. I know, it's seems ridiculous but I don't want to denature the original LEGO sets.
