It really is very good. Makes you think that maybe they could do a full Hogwarts minifigure scale set for the D2C. Especially if they went movie accurate like yours, compared to playset prioritization for the new style of sets.

Thanks. I mean it is not that unrealistic considering my model has something like 10 000 pieces in total (including full Quidditch Pitch, Hagrid's Hut, few trees and huge rock base). I would be probably pissed if Lego did that, because the whole point of my MOC was to get simillar castle silhouette as microscale Hogwarts castle but in playscale, so if there was suddently official set like that I would feel like my work was waste of time :DDD

@Textorix Are your Bell Towers your own creation or did you snag instructions from somewhere?  I've been considering doing my own custom bell towers, but a couple of the versions I've seen seem too big in relation to the rest of the 2018 sets.   Yours seem well proportioned.

Bell Towers version that I have in my castle is a MOC that I bought from JL Bricks (super talented guy) on Rebrickable. Honestly it is the best version I have seen, because it respects the original design of 2018-2020 Hogwarts sets.

You managed to come up with a very beautiful model!

Thank you so much. It was very diffucult to connect all these sets in the most accurate way, and yet keep them in their official form for the most part.

I‘m more wondering when the first minifig/creature leaks will drop :classic: It started on March 6th in 2019, the 18th in 2020, and the 13th in 2021, so we’re “officially” late  Granted, the leaks may not be as plentiful as they used to be, but I’m still hopeful we get to see something at least :shrug_oh_well:

Everything seems to take more time to leak than it used to I think. The sets are coming in June right, so that gives us just something over 2 and half months for potential leaks.

What would everyone's top 10 LEGO Harry Potter sets be from 2018 on? I want to compile the answers to find the most popular set.

    1) Diagon Alley

    2) Hagrid's Hut

    3) Clock Tower

    4) Privet Drive

    5) Great Hall

    6) Knight Bus

    7) Astronomy Tower

    8) Hogsmeade

    9) Burrow

    10) Rise of Voldemort

....Microscale castle would probably be in top 3, but I don't have it as I don't collect non playscale sets.

  5. FB franchise not being successful enough for Lego to make sets means that this theme won't last forever like Star Wars or Superheroes, for that you need constant flow of new content. So once they run out of ideas and remake every set, give us all possible characters, this theme will likely end, which is actually a good thing, because then these sets will remain very special and we won't end up with like 5 versions of Hagrid's Hut, Hogwarts Express, Great Hall etc. :D

2020 is tough to beat, but this will be the best wave to me as well if at least three of the following conditions are met:

    • 76403 is actually based on DH and Yaxley is indeed included
    • 76408 is a playset based on something new (at least not already covered since the start of the reboot)
    • 76405 is a DA expansion with Gringotts
    • Tonks is included somewhere
    • 76407 includes at least one creature (Werewolf/Padfoot)

I think the chances are good :excited:

Most of this is very likely now imo. I think the D2C mystery will torture us for few more months, but we could get other info soon I hope.

If the retailer exclusive is a playset and turns out to be something Second task or Durmstrang Ship related and then the D2C is Gringotts / Diagon or Knockturn Alley related, then considering the Shrieking Shack and Ministry this will be the best year for me.:moar:

Same here, depending on what the final products will actually look like, this might be the best wave for me even though I still don't like the new Hogwarts system :D

Too bad we don’t have a piece count yet as further evidence

Yeah, piece count could immediately tell us if it is play set or not. Because for that price playeset would have something like 1000-1200 pieces and if it was a couple hundreds more then I would assume it is buildable figures set.

I love Stonewarsde but they aren’t always 100% like Promobricks. This is just an educated guess based on price point. Many leakers have told us that $120 set is labeled as a playset.

Yeah them guessing that it is maybe Ron and Dumbledore figs has same value as us guessing it is Durmstrang ship or whatever. They clearly have no source on this so it is a pure tip.

Also looks like we’re getting a new Whomping Willow in the Shack.

I hope it really looks like POA variant that has longer and much thinner branches... I can’t wait to have 2 Whomping Willows in my Hogwarts display (maybe even 2 Hagrids Huts in the future) where each would represent different movie period jn the saga

  11. Description of Dumbledores office set by Stonewars: "This tower is modeled after the part of the castle where the headmaster's office is located in the film, because it has the typical small mini-towers that rise up from the sides." - Damn does this mean we are actually getting more movie accurate representation of Grand Staircase Tower than 2018-2020 system (from Great Hall set)? :D I am suprised, because this sounds like they will try not not make generic random looking towers anymore like they did with previous sets, but they actually care about accuracy now (or I should say again since most of 2018-2020 sets were very accurate).

  12. Quidditch pitch or whatever would be an insult as D2C set... even Icons set is more worthy as it really looks like it is paying tribute to HP franchise which giant stadium wouldn’t do for me. Also can you imagine how boring the actual build would be? You would have to build mostly same generic tower like 12 or 16 times? Heck no pls. I am getting Colosseum vibes from it, aka set that looks great when it is finally built and displayed somewhere, but that is everything good about it.

Not strictly a professor, but we had the Infirmary included in the previous Clock Tower, and yet bizarrely there not only wasn't a Poppy Pomfrey included, there wasn't even one in the series.

    ETA: ninjaed by sebastian666.

But that is not the same case as cabinet/office for reasons I mentioned earlier (same with DADA classroom).

  14. 4 minutes ago, sebastian666 said:

The only one worth mentioning is the Hospital Wing in the 2019 Clocktower set, which didn’t include Madam Pomfrey - she isn’t technically a professor but that space is inextricably linked to her and her omission was glaring.

Yeah I guess, but Hospital Wing isn’t something like her personal room, not the same category if you know what I mean. It can still work without her as Hospital Wing for students, but you can’t say the same about cabinet which would be just pointless empty room without professor who could sit there.

I think, if Dumbledore’s office is based off ootp, there is a solid chance we will get a small Umbridge’s at a lower level.

Don’t get me wrong, I would love if it included her office, but if the set doesn’t have her as minifigure, then there is close to zero chance that it will happen. I don’t remember any Hogwarts set since 2018 that had certain professor’s office, but not have him as minifigure. Dumbledore, Snape, Slughorn, Lockhart had their offices in previous sets, but were also present as minifigs. Although early minifigure lists from Promobricks could be wrong in some places I doubt they wouldn’t notice Umbridge minifigure if she was there.

Well, what is it then, if the probability is 70%? :laugh_hard:

    • Buildable objects? We’ve just had those.
    • Microscale build? Nothing iconic enough left. A Hogwarts add-on is pointless considering what’s left is nowhere near as recognisable as what the 2018 set included
    • Brick-built character/creature? The most important human character (Harry) and most iconic creature (Hedwig) already got that treatment last year.
    • Vehicle? Nothing except HE justifies that pricetag, even a Ford Anglia would be a third of that price at max
    • Minifig-scale? Makes the most sense, and the most obvious choice in this category is a DA expansion

Great points here, this is exactly why I think there are only 2 likely options. Few people suggested UCS Quidditch pitch or even Quidditch World Cup, which would be a big risk at this price.

McGonagall and Snape appear in OoTP in Dumbledore’s office together after Harry’s dream. Perhaps there is a Focus! scene included in the set.

Good point, but the lack of GoF sets (except Horntail) in this wave still make me think that it is based on that movie. I mean it’s not like I care about it as long as it will include some new minifigure variants and the build is decent.

what if the retailer exclusive is more Big figs like Harry and Hermione. That was an exclusive here in the uk. Maybe this is Ron and Dobby? Would make the hints of Dobby make sense

It was discussed here earlier that €119.99 set should be a playset according to previous info from Promobricks (or Brick Clicker? not sure rn)

Since last year LEGO has been slowly moving away from doing characters strictly as they appear in the films. Younger Cho and Cedric variants in the Moments sets. Year 1 Luna in the CoS sets.

Yes, unlike most people, I am not even suprised anymore when they throw a random character into set that is not supposed to be there like Ginny
