The return of dark bluish grey roofs does put a smile on my face and to all people complaining about the reboot of the Hogwarts I say.... that is how it felt in 2021 to us, deal with it :D
My Hogwarts setup is happy for it :)

What happened to Jabba throne room diorama rumour? Was it fake?

"Combines with other LEGO® Harry Potter™ sets sold separately: Gringotts™ Wizarding Bank model attaches to Diagon Alley (75978), sold separately" - the end of a debate (was kinda obvious to me anyway but to some of you who doubted :D)
-
18 minutes ago, Accio Lego said:The banks seems to be 8 or so Bellatrix’s high (error allowed for the potato quality and tiny size of my phone screen), given that Ollivander’s is roughly 5 Bella’s high (I literally just checked) that fits nicely with Gringott’s being about 150% higher than the regular Alley shops.
I think you’re making an erroneous assumption that the building to the right of the bank is supposed to be the same height as a regular shop but clearly isn’t. The one on the left clearly is (4 or 5 Bella’s tall) and also seems to have the colorful front display window of a regular shop (fingers crossed for Magical Menagerie).Thank you for making it more clear.
People are also complaining that it is not wide enough, well it actually is just as wide as it should when you look at the official source material, because the model only represents the front part of the Gringotts bank which we see from Diagon Alley. Of course it is getting wider as we go further back with the building but if they made the full Gringotts building like we see in some MOCs it would be absurdly expansive or we wouldn't have an undergroud system.

Definitely European tomorrow (so today) since they are based in Denmark

I think does it match the scale, Gringotts is not supposed to be mega giant compared to Diagon Alley buildings, just 1,5 times bigger I would say. All those MOCs we have seen are oversized in my opinion. Honestly I hope they confirm it or directly show it today during the reveal so we won't have to have this debate anymore :DDD

- Harry
- Ron as Dragomir Despard
- Hermione as Bellatrix
- Griphook
- Bogrod
- 3x random goblins
- 2x Gringotts guards
- Bill Weasley
- 2x random wizards
Why Bill? Such a random pick considering he never appeared there in the movies.

I finished my Hogwarts castle layout. I posted it on every single platform but I thought I could share it with you too since this forum motivated me to create it :D
I remember how critical I was about new Hogwarts sets when we found out it’s gonna be a full reboot. Everyone including me thought they wouldn’t be compatibile with old 2018-2021 sets and now 2 years later I can say that I was so wrong.

28 minutes ago, BacktoBricks said:Does anyone know from either setting it up physically or from digital constructing the length and depth of this new combined Hogwarts model?
It’s around 75 x 42cm, at least that is what stud.io says about 3D model.

Backside picture of the new Hogwarts layout leaked. I almost got it 100% right. The only thing I didn’t put on correct place are the roof parts with golden fence from the Dumbledore’s Office set that are supposed to go on the top of the Bathroom set.
-
I would suggest adding Fluffy and Flying Lesson sets on the right side of the layout. There are couple options where you could put Dorms GWP set but to me all of them look rather ugly because 1) you can't stack higher than two modules as otherwise both towers would loose they dominant look and 2) connecting it to sides would create wall effect which we want to avoid. Yeah the Chamber of Secrets play feature is lost here but I can't help myself, this way it just looks better from the outside.

Very nice job. Even though I own all Hogwarts sets released since 2018, most of them is not built because sadly I have no space for them currently :D

2 hours ago, Xcube said:This is the same layout that I would consider, because of the playfeature of the toilet. In the "official" Layout it seems not possible.
That playfeature is one of the main things that makes Polyjuice Potion Mistake so great but I also kinda get why they decided to put it on library instead as it looks much better from the exterior side. Also here is the render of the entire interior side which they didn’t show to us.

8 minutes ago, Ferder said:Yes always a challenge with this series to have it look good on the outside while also have the interior make sense (bathroom slide over the Chamber, Lockheart's office near his classroom, Fluffy's trapdoor over the vines)
Oh talk about that, getting these things right in my MOC was such a long process :D

56 minutes ago, Legocentrico said:how did you figure out the layout??? I still look at it now and I don't understand which pieces and where they are …….. :-O
Well I work with these sets in stud.io program for almost two years now so I know each of them just too well. I don't know if I got it 100% correct but I'm sure the library section from Dumbledore's Office set is either under Hospital Wing+Polyjuice Potion Mistake set (first picture) or under Lockhart's classroom, in both cases the entrance to the Chamber of Secrets play function is lost. I would suggest to just swap Lockhart's classroom with Polyjuice Potion Mistake set (2nd picture) but then the exterior part doesn't look good because black and white windows are next to each other (3rd picture) so it's up to your preference.

7 hours ago, krimimimi said:@Textorix, iirc, you have some digital Bell Towers lying around. If it wouldn't be too much bother, could you add them to the new grand Hogwarts layout, behind the Clock Tower and courtyard, maybe with a greenhouse in there, too? I'm betting we could get one or two more sensical years out of the 2021+ modular scheme, particularly if they stretch it with BoH foe sets. (Y'know, the sort of thing they'd need to take it from the Epic Disagreement of Hogwarts (Epic D'oH) to an actual Battle.)
Sure, here you go :) ... wasn't too difficult to figure out what layout they used.
Here 4K render actually looks great unlike on Instagram that always butchers it :DDD

7 minutes ago, ArrowBricks said:What do we see for 2024 then?
Leaky Cauldron, PS version of Hagrids Hut, 3rd task (labyrinth), Durmstrang ship, Ministry of Magic (Department of Mysteries), Borgin and Burkes, The Inferi Lake (please bring back the small 20 dollar sets), Hagrids motorbike chase scene, Lovegood house, Malfoy Manor, Tent (with Snapes patronus) and if they really want to continue with Hogwarts expansions then Troll in the Bathroom set remake would be great addition.

2 minutes ago, Xcube said:Under the hospital wing it looks so weird.
That is not the only weird looking thing in that layout :DDD But yeah it must be under Hospital Wing

Still fits :DDD

I really hope BOH set is the last Hogwarts expansion set in this system. That so called complete Hogwarts layout they showed us really gives me hope that this is the final version and then they will move on from it. At least a short 1-2 years pause from Hogwarts sets would be appreciated and then they can reboot again if there is still high demand. I feel like they should now really focus on other non Hogwarts locations that we are still missing.

55 minutes ago, BacktoBricks said:I care because it shows a lack of consistency and makes the waves look messy. That doesn't inspire me as a collector and I know of others who find it the same. That in turn hurts the theme.
This theme was never consistent. I’m a collector too, I want to have every single unique minifigure variant and I couldn’t care less about having two Harry minifigs with the same torso but different legs colour.

40 minutes ago, Axxe90 said:I don't get why the train has grey roofs now.
Because it’s actually more accurate to the movie.
-
Wow … putting only reused minifigures into Hogwarts Express is brutal. That’s like the first time I see it in this theme which is sad, because in terms of minifigures they always suprised me how they were able to put at least few new exclusive minifigures into every single set. Also why some people thought it’s gonna be motorized? It wasn’t rumored by any relevant leaker.

23 minutes ago, Balrogofmorgoth said:….and we all know Gringotts won’t be compatible either, even though the whole reason we all have wanted it for so long is to go with our Diagon Alley D2C…
Gringotts will definitely be compatibile with D2C Diagon Alley. Just because they don’t tell you “look here you connect it to Diagon Alley” doesn’t mean it won’t work with it when displayed togather. In worst case you will have to remove that underground system which we still don’t know how it’s gonna work and look like.

I’m sure the others will follow, why would they wait at this point.
