  1. Hi all,

I'm looking for couples to talk about a potential feature article in Blocks, the LEGO magazine for fans, that explores how people have used LEGO bricks in their weddings. If this is you, or will be you in the near future, please get in touch!

Not to be a prick on main but why did you call the Lizard an amphibian? Lizards are reptiles, a totally different branch of the animal kingdom. ( And as an altered human the Lizard himself would be a mammal, at least from a certain point of view.)

Why? Ignorance, dear Kallus. I completely forgot the animal kingdoms were a thing (oops) - I've written to amend and thanks for the point!

I can attest to this. I felt similar to the Marvel CMF, having difficulty finding it in stores. Found some of the Boxes of 6 on Target.com but didn't get the entire set. The instant I saw them show "sold out" on Lego.com I knew it was only a matter of time before it became even more difficult and just bought an entire series on bricklink. If you still find them in the wild @therealwalkers i'd recommend getting them.

My rule of thumb for CMF is get them ASAP. If you see them, buy them. If you don't find them and you want to get them another way, do that quickly because prices will only rise.

I missed out on CMF Series 20 because I was afraid to go out to stores at that time, and there's now simply no way I'm ever getting the Viking, for example.

    CMF are going, going, gone.

Thanks both! I found a box in Sainsbury's (a supermarket in the UK) when they first came out but was tired and didn't want to spend the money then (plus I really wanted Wanda, who was gone)... needless to say I regret that now I need to find six of the set...!

Was Muggle Studies ever shown on screen? I don't remember. If not then I don't think it has a high chance of being made into a set. There was a Care of Magical Care set back in the day, so it could be remade.

It's not shown but it wouldn't take too much: I believe older games just had muggle objects in glass cabinets (rubber ducks, anyone?!) etc etc. But in the wider scheme, I'd be very surprised if it comes out...

With the current wave being split between:

    1. the old style builds for non Hogwarts buildings

    2. the anniversary style stackable boxes

    3. the buildable items holding scenes like the books and chest

    4. the large one off set

    5. And the usual vehicle build

I'd love to hear what sets people people think we might get in those styles in 2022. Do we think the anniversary box design will continue this summer. Here's a few of my thoughts.

    1. Wedding tent, shell cottage, Shrieking shack. The tent would be great for outfits and some guests that were at the wedding and you wouldn't get them otherwise. Shell cottage could be a cute build that might sell it and the shack would be good to get Padfoot in. I wonder would they ever make the leaky cauldron as a seperate building with the magic wall.

    2. I can see them doing Umbridges office in the box style maybe as it would fit the style. Dumbledore office could be done in the box style as well. The common rooms have been stolen by the trunk so I doubt we will see them in the boxes. Maybe a troll set but thats another bathroom set again.

    3. We will have gotten most of the iconic classes in the book style and I'm not sure they will do all the different dark arts teachers class as they are all the same room.

    4. Gringotts hopefully but maybe ministry. Or another train but I'm not keen on that. Would love a large great hall with courtyard.

    5. Drumstrang ship maybe.

And I'd love to see series 3 of the Harry potter figures. Still plenty of characters we have not gotten yet.

Re classes, the only two that remain that could be different would be Muggle Studies and Care of Magical Creatures. Given the teacher of the former is murdered at the beginning of DH1 and the class forms a minimal part of the books, I doubt there'd be much there. If they were ever to invest in DH2, it could be interesting to see the Carrow twins receiving books - DADA and MS - but again since they tortured students/spread essentially racist anti-muggle sentiment, I doubt there'd be much chance of that happening.

I agree re Umbridge's office. The Troll attack would be a classic. It does feel like we've reached a point where 95% of rooms have been covered since the re-launch, but obviously this soft reboot gives some opportunity. If the next series is POA/GoF focused, there's not loads that comes to mind: Remus's classroom (boggart cupboard would be great), prefect's bathroom, Griffindor Common room with Fat Lady portrait (YES PLEASE!)? If the focus does shift to films 3 and 4, then actually we might see a move away from the castle: Shrieking Shack, Task 2, Task 3, etc. I guess we should also expect Hagrid's Hut to be remade in the coming year or two also.

It's very annoying as like you I'd like to stack sections to save on display space. I have it with the 2018 - 20 castle sets instead. It almost seems like a 'connector' set in some ways though to bridge between the 'old' castle sets and the new modules.

It might be nice to have Polyjuice Potion jumping into the CoS below so it's quite a tower, but that'll mean there's a 1/3 of the space left to fill... as someone said above, I reckon they'll bring something else out to go below this set. Otherwise, I actually quite like it and enjoy its different look!!

It has hinges on the two outer sections which mean they can fold back outwards towards the clock. It looks like the photo shows the hinges slightly open creating a curve effect.

The trouble with the flying lesson set is that the middle door section is 10 studs wide and not the 8 studs of all these other modular sections, so it, wouldn't fit straight on top.

Oh that's a good point - I've not looked at Flying Lesson closely enough clearly! What a bugger...

  8. Is it me, or does the 'clocktower' set look like it slightly curves in? I wonder how it'd look on top of the First Flying Lesson set, although the grander style of the top won't really match. Playing around and getting it all to fit might be interesting.

I really like the Divination set. The Moments are a surprisingly good series of sets imo and Divination is distinct enough (the drapes, etc) for the aesthetic here to work; DADA, however, is just another classroom.

We already have that in the Clocktower set, the only addition I think we'll get to it is a Madam Pomfrey figure

Course but we've also already got a Potions classroom (a few) and, technically, Herbology! It doesn't seem whether or not the room has appeared before dictates: otherwise, there'd be limited potential for anything in the future (no DADA). Just a thought!

  10. Had a very lucky run in Sainsbury's yesterday and managed to snag Ginny, Ron, James, Bellatrix and Fred. Only felt around 8 packets! Just Lily and Harry to go now!

I doubt anything major will come of Legacy sets wise - maybe a mini figure pack or the odd small build? Certainly won't be another modular (cool as it would be).

Found them in Sainsbury's, Bexleyheath on Saturday. Stood there for about 25 minutes until I'd found them all. Nobody said anything at all.

I did make sure I used hand sanitiser before and after of course.

I figured if it was a real "problem", they should include some sanitiser nearby... personally I think the security guard thought we were doing something dodgy. Completely respect his decision but given the time we spent there, I don't think we were really breaking any "rules"... might pop to my local Sainsbury's tomorrow to finish the set...

That's annoying, I was so afraid someone would tell me off as well! But I got all 16 from two different toy stores (in Germany) and nobody said anything. In one store the box was actually right next to the cash register and I stood there for about twenty minutes but the employee just thought it was funny I think. I got all 16 without making any mistakes even though this was my first time trying, so yay!

That's great! I, foolishly, only went looking for a few but should've really just got the set... thought I'd got Myrtle and had Hermione and when I thought I Fred I actually had George (on point, I guess)... might see if UK LEGO stores (Westfield in Stratford, anyone?) have all the figures pre sorted for the final 8 - it'd make life easier...

  13. How are people getting on with feeling packets in shops? Got told by a security member (Smyths, Romford) it wasn't allowed after 30 minutes despite shop staff watching for the whole time... eight out of sixteen figures collected for now!

    That's great! :pir-skel:

Just built GH - lovely set, but purchased second hand so some small pieces missing. Hilariously, and annoyingly, however, the house flags are all upside down... :ugh:
