I'd say a Second Task set would include Harry, Krum (shark), 2? Merpeople, Ron and Hermione (those last 2 are unnecessary but inevitable). Though 6 figures are pushing it imo

Which leaves Second Task Fleur and Cedric as perfect figures for the second CMF series

As long as we get all four champions I will be happy ??

It's always possible that they are going to do a merpeople set without Gabrielle and they included this face so you can use the figure in another set, like they did with this new Hagrid. But this does point to them doing it in the near future.

They wouldn’t need to include Cho either as she came in the CMF. So they could either do the four champions and a merperson, or up the figure count to include Ron and Hermione too. But seven figures seems a bit unlikely for what should be a fairly small set.

With Stranger Things getting a SDCC exclusive figure, I’m getting really worried that the likelihood of HP getting one is a little higher

Surely that’s just to promote the exclusive Upside Down set? LEGO have already done four exclusive minifigures in the Bricktober pack!

I would hope actual releases of those two would be much better, they both look horrendous

I don’t mind a brick built Fluffy, as long as it looks good (hopefully better than the book version). But the troll really needs to be molded. Mixel eyes? Really?

I think new moulds would do both of these justice - it’s a must for the troll (in my opinion), and for Fluffy, a new head mould would definitely be needed at the very least.

I have (sort of), 4867 with modifications. When I have pictures ready, I will  put Instagram link  here.

That would be great thanks! I’d like to integrate the two but I’m a sucker for continuity so wanted to see how other people managed to merge them together!

You are right this time around Lego are putting in minifigs that was in the scenes in the movies, in the past they often put in figs that was missing! E.g. Snape and Hermione in the quidditch set, that has never happened before.. In the GOF sets this year we got 2 Cedric, 2 Krum and 3 Fleur, back in the days we would instead get 0 Cedric (we already got one in the CMF), 1 Krum and 1 Fleur. The 5 available minifigs spots would have been used on important figs that was missing.. The result of this is that we are missing a lot of important characters from the first 4 movies, but we have also gotten many that never had been in minifig form before :sweet: I have faith in what Lego is doing whit the HP line this time and I am sure most of the missing figs will show up down the road

I think a lot of that probably has to do with the CMF as well. For example, not many people would be bothered about a Susan Bones in the CMF so would make more sense to put her in a set and include a more iconic figure in the CMF to make the CMF sell better.

I have more faith in this series too. LEGO seem to be a bit more ballsy with what they’re doing, which has given us some really lovely sets (Yule Ball and Beauxbatons Carriage).

  7. Might as well join the list craze...

    1) Clocktower - I never thought we would get so many Yule Ball figures, let alone a set dedicated to it! It has a beautiful exterior that is a great addition to the Hogwarts display we have so far, and I love the Christmassy features.

    2) Beauxbatons Carriage - our first new set without a Harry figure! I’m glad we are getting a new set that has never been done before, and the inclusion of Olympe, Fleur and Gabrielle makes up for LEGO sort of ignoring their existence in the original GOF sets. So glad they’ve done this instead of a Durmstrang Ship!

    3) Hagrid’s Hut - maybe a little overpriced, but I love the figures and the new Buckbeak mould. I actually like that the back is open as it makes for playability and every other building has an open back anyway.

    4) Expecto Patronum - a small, compact but beautiful set. The only reason this one isn’t higher up is that I love the larger builds. The new Sirius is really exciting as he definitely called for an update.

    5) First Task - I would have preferred this to be a more expensive set with perhaps some stands included as it looks a bit weird being just a tent and a dragon. Nevertheless, the figures are a key reason to buy, and I don’t mind the dragon TOO much.

    6) Rise of Voldemort - not a massive fan of the ground build, but as most people have pointed out, adding to the Hidden Side graveyard would make it more padded out as a display. Interested to see the play feature, but a bit disappointed with the Wormtail figure as he shouldn’t be ginger lol.

    7) Knight Bus - it’s the best version we’ve had so far, but I don’t think it offers all that much on the previous iterations. I would have preferred a Shrieking Shack (but Stans hat is great).

A fantastic wave all in all, I’ll be sure to be picking up all these sets!

Anyone know when/why LEGO stopped doing alternative builds in the instruction manuals?

I think the Wrestling Champion's hair works best, even the color is quite close :classic:

Thank all you guys for your suggestions!! I think the colour of the wrestler might best match the eyebrows. I don’t really know why LEGO insist on making him ginger tbh :shrug_oh_well:

I’m not a fan of changing official LEGO figures if I can help it, but might pick up that brown Moody piece for Sirius!

I personally would be happy either way as long as the sets look good it is fine by me if they are FB or HP.
Yes, HP has more fans overall, if we remove fans of both HP and FB from the equation, there are more fans that only like HP, than fans only liking FB. That being said I loved the first FB movie, the second was more like a book on speed so I need to see it one more time to get every detail, but it was OK and had it moments.. The two FB sets last year was very well made and better than most sets in the same price range I would say, so I hope we will see more FB sets in the future

I agree. I think the HP sets are fantastic for nostalgia, but I like the creativity behind the buildable magic beasts from FB that you don’t get as much in other themes.

  10. The thing that would make FB sets stand out to kids, compared to other sets, are the buildable beasts. The beasts seem to be the focal points of the sets released so far - especially the suitcase. I don’t see the Graveyard as a particularly strong CoG setting, especially if it didn’t come with a builable Zouwu. I could be wrong though.

I thought Circus Arcanus with a buildable Zouwu - or even snake Nagini - would be an interesting set as kids would like the circus theme, but then it’s not particularly important to the plot.

Sorry for the confusion. I accidentally said 75958 not 75965.

75958 - 50€ set with 430 pieces, rumoured to be the Graveyard Duel set

75965 - 20€ set with 184 pieces, no actual rumours

I actually hope that these two sets are FB sets, it would also explain different release date. I think five HP sets plus an advent calendar are enough.

I agree. The HP line is strong as it is - I don’t see that changing anytime soon. It’s the FB sets that I worry about being discontinued.

I wonder whether LEGO’s decision to make all the Hogwarts students more childlike was based of differentiating them from the adult wizards in FB?

  11. Does anyone find it strange that the five June sets and the advent calendar (September) have all been officially revealed, but we still haven’t seen or heard of any leaks regarding two further sets in August? I’d love for more Potter but am very sceptical as to whether we will get another two this year...

  12. Really impressed with what we’ve seen today - the Christmas theme of the Clocktower makes me really excited for what to expect with the advent calendar!

Have I got it right that these five are the June wave and we are expected another two reveals for August? One of which is presumed to be the graveyard?
