What have you been smoking this morning?! *huh*

    1. Why not include them in the DA then instead of shops "no one" knows is there?
    2. Lego needs more sets for future waves, DA shops would be perfect to fill those spots
    3. Lego have made them before, it even was there the very first year of the theme (4723 Diagon Alley Shops)

I can see them make sets of one shop alone or maybe sets of two is better e.g:

-Eeylops Owl Emporium and Potage's Cauldron Shop
    -Madam Malkin's and Magical Menagerie
-Slug & Jiggers Apothecary and Twilfitt and Tatting's
-Madam Primpernelle's Beautifying Potions and Terrortours
    etc

I for one would definitely buy sets like that

I really love MOCing the Diagon Alley and Hogsmeade shops will all their unique interiors, so from an entirely selfish viewpoint, hope that LEGO doesn’t make these... HOWEVER, the designers have done such a wonderful job of the revival series that they would definitely create builds beyond my capabilities!

I agree with Roebuck that there is a market there... but maybe there are other more action-packed scenes/locations that could take priority.

Only TLG knows what will happen ;)

They will run an authorization straight away when you place the initial order, eh? If you've not got the funds available right now, the order likely won't go through. I'm sorry, I think I misunderstood your question. I thought you were waiting on an item you'd already previously ordered.

I do have funds - just wondered when it does come out! ☺️ But thanks for clearing up :)

Scarlet Patronus' lovely version of Fortescue's is under 500 elements, I reckon you could knock it down to around 400 in an official set and keep it roughly the same scale and detail level.

As far as I know the other minor shops never have their proprietors on screen, so not sure whether if they were present in the D2C they could be 'staffed'.

Awh thank you ☺️ Can’t wait to populate mine with the figure of Florean!

  4. “Harry didn’t have to do his homework by flashlight anymore; now he could sit in the bright sunshine outside Florean Fortescue’s ice cream parlour, finishing his essays with the occasional help from Florean Fortescue himself.”

This MOC is of Florean Fortescue’s ice cream parlour from the wizarding world of Harry Potter! Located in Diagon Alley, London, the parlour keeps witches and wizards satisfied with the coolest, most colourful ice creams and sundaes!

The model is based off the recreation of Florean Fortescue’s ice cream parlour in Universal Studios Florida, with inspiration drawn from Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban book. The large ice cream cone attached to the upper floor gives the parlour its recognisable appearance, whilst a stickered bright light yellow 1x10 brick details the shop name. Light blueish grey masonry bricks have been used to create a “worn” texture, blended with bright light yellow bricks to give the parlour a sense of shabbiness.

Inside the parlour, the iconic white and black checkboard flooring has been recreated using alternating 2x2 black and white tiles. The ground floor has an area for Mr Fortescue to serve his customers, complete with freezers, stacks of ice cream cones and soft-scoop ice cream machine.

On the upper level, there are small diner-style seating areas for customers to enjoy a sundae whilst looking out onto the cobbled shopping street below. On summer days, an ice cream cart, complete with umbrella, can be used to serve witches and wizards, with a small table and chairs outside.

The journey of getting from “render to real life” began with a build on Bricklink Studio. From there, pieces were picked from our existing collection of LEGO. Any others were sourced on LEGO’s Bricks & Pieces service and Bricklink, or substituted for alternatives we already owned. The model was finally assembled when all pieces had been gathered. Photos of the "real-life" build will be posted soon. Any thoughts or feedback would be welcomed!

It was already available in Germany for the last few weeks, and since last week also in the Netherlands. So I assume it should become available in the UK too soon. I got mine from Brickshop.nl, it's not available yet from the Dutch S@H.

    Excellent cheers!!

Beautiful build! My wife and I just went to Universal (for the second time) last October, and already I want to go back!

Thank you! It’s amazing there - so much so that we want to capture that version of Hogsmeade Village in LEGO form!

  8. I know this is a little off-topic, but a while back I posted Honeydukes and Florean Fortescue's MOCs in this forum. I remember a few people said they'd be interested in seeing more pictures - there's a link here to my Honeydukes post, others coming soon. I'm on instagram too if anybody wants to see more pictures.

I'm really excited to see more HP leaks coming soon. Might even wait up until midnight June 1st to purchase some lockdown treats :D

  9. “There were shelves upon shelves of the most succulent-looking sweets imaginable.”

This MOC is of Honeydukes sweetshop from the Wizarding World of Harry Potter! Located in the non-Muggle village of Hogsmeade, this sweetshop keeps students from third-year above stocked with the most delicious and magical treats a witch or wizard could find!

49926182863_8f9330789c.jpgHoneydukes by Scarlet Patronus, on Flickr

The model is based off the recreation of Honeydukes sweetshop in Universal Studios Islands of Adventure, with inspiration drawn from Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban book and film. Snow covers the roof of the build to replicate the snowy village of Hogsmeade as it is first shown in the films. The iconic green bay windows on the shop exterior have been captured by attaching handlebar pieces to modified bricks. A printed “Honeydukes” 1 x 4 brick in bright pink is used to recreate the wooden signing on the front of the shop.

49926184038_29bc96e3c8.jpgHoneydukes 2 by Scarlet Patronus, on Flickr

Inside the sweetshop, the recognisable white and black checkerboard floor is a key feature, created by individual 1 x 1 alternating tiles. The green shelves are adorned with the finest confectionaries seen throughout the Harry Potter series – Chocolate Frogs, boxes of Bertie Bott’s Every Flavour Beans, pumpkin juice and cauldron cakes, to name but a few. Window displays are made of sweets that can be purchased in the shop; cotton candy, lollipops and cookies amongst others.

49926183633_61b66e8781.jpgHoneydukes 3 by Scarlet Patronus, on Flickr

On the upper floor, a large chocolate fountain takes pride of place. A free-standing till can be placed anywhere in the shop, and a trolley filled with treats can be pushed along the cobbled streets of Hogsmeade village in the summer.

  10. A Hogwarts students pack would make a lot of sense imo. Since the first wave, the other large Hogwarts expansion sets haven’t included the characters in their school robes. This is an ideal way of getting around making iconic scenes with exclusive figures (the clocktower Yule Ball set) whilst still providing students to fill up the corridors and classrooms of Hogwarts Castle. Plus, LEGO must know that these sets would fly off the shelves like an inflated Aunt Marge with everyone wanting to fill up their castles!

    1. Astronomy Tower (I cannot say enough how much this set has surprised me, love it).
    2. Forbidden Forest
    3. Privet Drive
    4. Room of Requirement
    5. Attack on the Burrow (very much my own opinion as I'm biased towards the 2010 version, I much prefer the consistent colour scheme vs the new one)
    6. Hedwig

I have to admit, I do prefer the downstairs interior of the 2010 Burrow to the 2020 version - it’s more enclosed. Like I think a few people have mentioned here, it means that the Burrow will look a bit too “open” from one angle. But in spite of that...

    1. AT

    2. Attack on the Burrow

    3. Room of Requirement

    4. Privet Drive

    5. Forbidden Forest

    6 Hedwig

I do think Hedwig is a fantastic build but I just prefer playsets. I’ll still pick one up because it’s a bit different, but it’s not really my thing. Appreciate LEGO are branching out and trying some new as it’ll make the theme last a lot longer! I’d love a Niffler one of these eventually, for example.

Hey! On an unrelated note - are you keeping the set boxes? They are taking up a pot of space for me but I don't know what is best to do with them.

I always keep set boxes. My brother and I store them by flattening them and storing the flattened boxes of similar sizes together with tied string! Works pretty well. They do take up a lot of room but makes the second-hand set more valuable if you were to ever sell them!

Also, Ginny's Quidditch team is the Holyhead Harpies, the only all-female Quidditch team! I did notice her beadspread is in their colours! ;)

I thought this might be Kingnono’s hint - that QQS could turn up in DA.

if not though, I’ll definitely be picking up and extra sticker sheet for my version of QQS ?

Speaking of Graveyard Duel, I have a random off-topic question. Does anyone have the Hidden Side Graveyard Mystery? https://www.lego.com/en-gb/product/graveyard-mystery-70420 I feel like it'd go well with the graveyard... It's really giving me the old HP graveyard vibes...

Yep I got both graveyards for Christmas last year (morbid much?). They both look really good together! I’m just torn between actually modding the two sets into one or just having them side by side as they currently are. Anybody got any suggestions?

With regards to the potential mystery set in August... does anybody else think it would be weird for LEGO to just release one set in August? Or should we expect two like last year?

Hopefully they will make a few more interior sets like RoR that will bulk out the interior and give better coverage of the rooms in the castle

This is what I wanted them to do for DADA classroom in Crimes of Grindelwald. I guess depending on how well RoR sells, LEGO might release more. I’m surprised they’ve left it this long to release a proper Hogwarts “playset” to be honest!
