Does anyone think the new helmet would have worked for Whiplash too maybe? His helmet in the movie seemed a little taller and different from Tony’s, plus it opened. Maybe its harder to mold in silver or the printing wouldn’t come out as well?

    Nah

In the final battle of the movie it didn't have a seperate faceplate like the Iron Man helmet and just retracted

The Square Enix helmet actually fits Whiplash MK 2 very well

I refuse to believe that there is a single soul who likes this helmet design more than either of the last 2 designs. If the complaint was size and bulk why are these bigger and bulkier?

I only like the fact that it allows for more varied looks and it flips but that's the only positive I have.

My negatives are that I tought this helmet would fix the bulkiness of the old one whilst keeping the best feature of it which was the flipping faceplate but instead it's somehow taller and wider than the original

And it being a 2D print doesn't help either since his face looks so derpy once you seperate the faceplate from the helmet. Also the visor and lower parts of the helmet look too tiny now

At least the 2012 helmet still looked like Iron Man even with the faceplate removed despite it being a tad too bulky

i love the helmet(best of the three) on its own  but agree it is too big for the minifig

It looks like a Megablox head placed on a LEGO. At least with the previous helmets, they felt like Iron Man in LEGO form

I agree. After seeing pics of it up close, I think i prefer the original helmet.

    Same here lol

I guess 2012 and Square Enix helmet still reign supreme

I agree comic sets are not inherently the problem. The repetitive character roster and uninspired build selection we’ve seen in recent waves, is. Instead of endless spidey mechs with the same rotating cast,  a relevant build with heroes such as those you mentioned is something I and many others would go crazy for. But comic based sets are not inherently undesirable. Might just be me and my nostalgia but the 2014 Avengers Assemble wave was so cool to me and I am still very fond of that wave, the original X/Deadpool set (that one is almost like a fever dream). Etc.

Feel like people are a bit harsh on the baby Groot build I don’t think it’s creepy and think it’s done a good job relaying the cute factor of the character. That said it’s not something I see myself getting.

Mm I don’t completely agree with this. Looking at footage of that game online its clear the characters are depicted, costume wise very catered to their cinematic designs but facial features were not made to mirror those actors. The game had a mix of cinematic and comic influence on the character design and this is reflected in the Lego sets but I don’t think that’s the same thing as saying Lego itself took mixed inspiration for the sets. As for most of their other “comic” content, the issue here may lie in that its not always really comic content. 2012 Doc Oc set was cartoon (Ultimate Spiderman, namely) inspired, as was the 2013 Bugle and Nick Fury/Venom chase. The 2016 wave is arguably also based on that cartoon although an argument could be made that that wave in particular took mixed inspiration from both the cartoon and comics. Similarly a lot of the recent Spidey sets have been largely inspired by either into the spideyverse or the new kids cartoon people keep referencing.

This may cause confusion but ultimately when you look at these , I’ll them “non cinematic” sets, the inspiration isn’t all that mixed. The 2014 Avengers winter wave was clearly based off Avengers Assembly, same goes for the Captain Marvel Avenjet of 2015. Come to think of it, I could see how you’d confuse the 2017 Iron Man set as mixed influence seeing as how it has a comic villain and modern comic design for Iron Man, but Agent Coulson from the MCU /agents? It did come out when agents of shield was airing.but to that I say, hasn’t Agent Coulson been transferred over to the comics/cartoons as well? Far as I’m concerned his car may not exist in the comics so that Lola may be a give away to mixed influence, but that doesn’t change the fact for the bulk of the other “comic” sets, they really only took inspiration from either the comics at large, or a particular cartoon/animated movie.

But this is basically all that I've said. The Avengers Assemble sets even had suits from Iron man 3

    2 hours ago, JediJosh said:

I have the same problem.  I'm just going to add the new suits to my current hall of armor display using the old design and not include the new design.

I think it would look weird incorporating the new design with the old design.

Personally what I do plan on doing is using just the new helmet mold for MK 42 up to MK 85 figures. Every other suit in my collection sticks with the 2012 mask and if LEGO makes new versions of MK 6, 7 or a Mk4, I'll switch the mold with the old one

Because the 2012 helmet piece though great and neatly molded only really works for Phase 1 and a few Phase 2 suits. The helmet designs in the movies changed post Iron Man 3 and Age of Ultron and the 2012 helmet doesn't really do justice to that

Well, if some of them mysteriously disappear from this year’s slate, we know what happened :laugh_hard:

They could also release random comic-inspired sets again :shrug_oh_well: Hoping for something movie-related

I don't mind the idea of LEGO doing comic book sets but my complaints come from the fact that they use the same characters and place in mechs whenever they have the chance

Like c'mon, Marvel is just more than the Avengers and Spider-Man. At least put in the X-Men, Fantastic 4 or other Spider-Man villains that aren't Doc Ock, Green Goblin, Mysterio or Sandman

There's also the fact that their comic sets aren't really comic sets, they just take aspects from various media. The 2020 Avengers sets mixed the game designs with MCU ones and some of the Spider-Man figures were inspired by the PS4 game, the 2022 mech Iron Man was just a bad manship of the Civil War Iron Man suit and Mk 42

4 hours ago, The Stud said:

That was more of an assumption that me and a lot of other people were making. Lego has been going all in on anniversary waves for their evergreen themes in the last few years: Star Wars in 2019, Ninjago and Harry Potter (on a technicality) in 2021, and Friends in 2022.

There’s also the fact that it’s been ten years since the first Avengers movie and technically twenty since the first Marvel sets with Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man.

Would LEGO even acknowledge Sam Raimi Spider-Man films, they barely do a lot of movie sets outside the MCU

6 hours ago, The Stud said:

I just want some Avengers 2012 sets. A Quinjet, Leviathan and Loki's Chituari Chariot thingy would go perfectly with a D2C Stark/Avengers Tower, if that's what the $500 set ends up being. So far, the 10th anniversary of Lego Superheroes has been very lackluster imo (especially DC but that goes without saying), so hopefully Lego musters up some surprises for the second half of this year.

    Same here

Loki's 2012 figure, the Mk 7 suit, Black Widow and Hawkeye are outdated since they relied on concept art. Those characters need updated pieces

    7 hours ago, THELEGOBATMAN said:

    Don't jinx it!

You might give them ideas. Please, no random comics sets. Unless they include something that's actually fresh, like Daredevil, X-Men, F4, or countless Marvel characters they keep omitting for Avenegers' and Spider-Man's sake.

Come to think of it, it might also be connected to LEGO Super Heroes' 10th anniversary or Spidey's 60th anniversary.

YES, YES, YES to all of this

The new helmets look great, although I hope they'll still use the other 2 every now and then, just whatever works best for the suit they're trying to make. Not too sure if I'll buy it though as other than the new and updated figures, the set itself isn't really all too interesting, for that price at least. I kinda want a new malibu mansion rather than another hall of armor every year or two. This Nick Fury is also getting very repetitive, there are way cheaper ways to get him.

My major issue with the new helmet is that they used it for the Mk 3. The 2012 helmet works really well for the Phase 1 and 2 Iron Man suits so I think this new mold should be used for suits like the MK 42 up to Endgame armour

At least this new mold allows for multiple prints and could even be used in comic sets

41 minutes ago, Mr. Cube said:

As a minifigure collector, who owns all Iron Man variants (OK, except that 2012 Toy Fair one ), I have mixed feelings about this. New helmet mold looks great and fits better with the later MCU suits and it's definitely better than that one-piece printed helmet, which I really don't like. But they used it also for MK 3, so I'm afraid that they will use only this new mold in future sets for all Iron Man minifigures. The set itself looks cool, but it's a little bit strange that they changed design of the displays. And that price is...a little bit overpriced. :sceptic:

Yeah exactly what I'm saying. The MK 3 looks great with the 2012 mold since most Phase 1 and 2 Iron Man suits had the same helmet design with different color variations

I do think it's disappointing that there isn't a MK 6 or even Mk 4 suit here.

I guess Im a lone in this but the new helmets look super cartoony, I'm not a fan...

I was debating just bricklinking the few new figures anyway due to the price, but Whiplash looks so bad I may skip it altogether :( Does he even come with a Mk2 helmet?

I think it looks alright on the MK 85.  LEGO definitely did this so that the helmets can be used for both comic and MCU sets

And yes Whiplash has the helmet

  7. There's no Shop at Home updates yet hence why it's taken so long for the Hall of Armour set to be revealed

These sets look absolutely fantastic, there are definitely plenty of things I could nitpick, but that would be all it is. No real complaints from me about these sets, I’ll be getting all of them, perhaps even the Gauntlet

My only major nitpick is the Iron Monger himself but everything else is okay or passable at least

  9. The Infinity Saga box art looks freaking dope

The standout figures imo are the MK 3 and Obadiah Stane

The Iron Monger is wayy too big and feels more like the Iron Giant. Would've been better if he was similar in size to the Jay mech in LEGO Ninjago set 71740.

The movable head for Thanos is also fantastic and opens up opportunities for future big figs, would've been nice if he had a removable helmet piece but it is what it is. Though the torso printing is a huge downgrade from the 2019 Thanos torso

Doesn't look like Scarlet Witch has a skirt piece.

Also is the MK 85 figure new or reused?

The 4 plus set looks decent. It's basically an Age of Ultron Cap set but LEGO really missed the mark by not having that set be based on The First Avenger.

The Dragon Flyer looks decent I guess.

  10. This is how LEGO expects us to believe how Wanda acted in the final battle

Together the old guardians ship had almost exactly 900 pieces. Now the question is do they focus on outside (a UCS version of this ship could be done at 4000 pieces and would still not satisfy some people) or do they make a compromise. I am optimistic that it can be really good while many will not be happy.

And concerning the figures: Lego could surprise us with so many things; but honestly I think leaks actually help Lego. Because with them, people see the mediocre or even bad figures before the sets hit it in their faces. If they do a proper Thanos - even with some new big fig way of putting a head, that can then be exchanged, turned (Thanos, Hulk etc.) - thats already more then people could have expected without the leaked list, if we compare to the shitty last waves. You can always hope; but please let's stay adult here if sets don't turn out to be beyond what factories, budget and call it evil cooperate men decide for the children toys.

Marvel builds sucked like 40% of the time and figures were like the worst since endgame. I wouldn't expect them to do dual molding and everything so suddenly. Yes it can and should be done but in the past it wasn't so it would be great if we get but there's no reason to assume it will.

I honestly think LEGO Marvel was fine till 2018

  11. Seen the new Wanda fig and I really hope there's a skirt piece cause I wouldn't like it as much if it's just the way it is

The torso is fantastic and the hair is great though it could've used a different shade of brown. But not having a skirt piece like the Civil war variant would be a downgrade

I can’t get away from the fact that Wanda has two smiling faces. She’s one of the most tragic characters, Vision is dead and it is chaos in the world, yet she still smiles. Too bad the 2016 head isn’t as accurate in terms of facial details. I like the idea of using Elizabeth Swann’s hairpiece though.

Maybe LEGO Wanda don't care.🤣Maybe to LEGO Wanda Vision was a robot she could toy with😭

Big hint from Bohner that Zemo and Walker won't be in the CMF. Lines up with what has been said about a later Thunderbolts project.

Oh that's disappointing. What if Falcon and Winter Soldier in the CMF has only Bucky and Sam figs cause I can't see anyone else apart from the two who would be cool figs(Maybe Sharon but even she ain't confirmed)

I like the new torso! I already have the Iron Man 3 Pepper so this one is just a nice variation

I'd like to see how the Iron Man 3 Pepper face would look on the 2021 Pepper Torso

Not picking up any sides, but Falcon implied Bohner's list for the CMF might not be truly accurate.

So Zemo and Walker are up for discussion again?

Pretty much what we expected :shrug_oh_well: At least she gets a new torso, that’s more than can be said for other characters (like poor Happy) :snicker:

The torso and hair piece looks really good. Face looks generic but I can ignore that though I think it would've been better if there was some flesh printing on her legs to represent the fact that she's wearing a business skirt(But LEGO Marvel and its infamous fear of leg prints made that impossible)

Overall the fig isn't terrible since it gets the basics right

Honestly, I think you're overreacting over someone just saying it'd be cool to have MJ in the Bugle.

    Huh no I'm not

If anything i was excited to see her. What I didn't like was the post implying that Mary Jane should be a journalist just cause it's a Daily Bugle set when she could just simply be in the set because she's a Spidey character

Check the screenname. Not irrational, just a serious Spidey fan that cares about proper portrayal of Peter Parker's longstanding love interest.

    Thank you😭

Plus if we're using Ultimate Marvel as valid proof for Journalist MJ then Spider-Man should be an immortal god since he was confirmed to be immortal in those comics

  15. 25 minutes ago, PGBQW said:

So she is a journalist then? Anyway, as long as she comes in the D2C in any capacity that would be cool.

No lmfao, that's like saying Spider-Man is a Nazi killer, immortal or an assassin because alternate versions of him were

She can just appear 8n the set as a civilian lol. Daredevil and Punisher aren't Daily Bugle workers but are still in the set die to their history with Spidey. MJ being there has nothing to do with her career and more so her history with Spider-Man

  16. 23 hours ago, cosmic said:

Praying its Elektra. She’d make a lot of sense with the current figure selection. Also hope Mary Jane Watson appears as she is a journalist at the bugle. Lego Marvel rarely gets good figure printing I hope this set is an exception. I have my reservations on the black cat and Punisher figures as is. Punisher should have got hip printing, Felicity looks odd without cleavage. Why is Punisher smiling? Should be stern. Unhappy with design choices.

which is a pattern with lego marvel. Iron Man looks great in his new leak but needs arm printing. New Cap needs arm and leg printing. Also should have came with a newly molded half broken shield. Or a new shield piece that maybe a has a destructing function? Its just lazy. Shuri needed leg printing  as well. And her hairpiece is inaccurate. Look at all the new molds in Vidiyo, there’s no reason a unique hair mould for characters like Shuri should be a lot to ask for. Also Mantis got no leg printing. And the new Black Panther similarly needed arm and leg printing.  It just all looks lazy and I’m looking forward to Jangbricks making a Marvel 2021 Minifigure video so I can see all these in one shot and just marvel at the complete lack of attention to detail. So many figures need leg prints and specialized moulds. Well really only Rocket and Shuri needed new moulds. But 2 is so little to demand. They all needed detailed printing none got. Its lame.

I’d love if when the X/Men enter the MCU, Lego gives us both MCU and 90’s comics inspired X-Men designs. Also hope Marvel CMF series 2 and 3 can have some space for comics designs.

Mary Jane doesn't work at the Bugle. She's been a model and actress for most of her mainstream comic book appearance. It's the Ultimate Spider-Man comics and Spider-Man PS4 that decided to have MJ be a journalist

If FalconFan turns out right with what he is thinking, we could get more sets after the movie. Those contains spoilery part of the film.

But do you think they're going to have their OG costumes? Or updated version to fit the MCU setting/timeline.

Other toyline will capitalize this event for sure, I hope LEGO would do the same giving all out characters specially the most iconic ones.

Probably OG since Feige would probably wanna make sure the characters are recognisable and since Molina said he's being deaged there's a high chance of Maguire being deaged to look like his 2004/2007 self since he's gotten older

NWH Figs I could see only showing up this year are

    1. Black and red Spidey from NWH

    2. Doctor Strange

    3. Ned

    4. Michelle

    5. Electro

    6. Doc Ock

Any spoilery character would probably not be in this year's sets

Can you tell us if Zemo’s going to be in it?

I feel like Lego Marvel news has been slow. Somebody please give us something.

Not LEGO News but Alfred Molina confirmed that he's playing Raimi Ock from Spider-Man 2 in No Way Home which indirectly confirms Tobey returning.

I do think that this could lead to the No Way Home LEGO sets including updated Raimi figs and if Jamie  Foxx is indeed playing TASM 2 Electro he could get a new variant as the comic con one is tricky to get

  19. Don't know if anyone cares but What If! character designs have been leaked

There's art of Gamora with Thanos' armour, Tony Stark in a Hulkbuster covered with Gladiator designs and clothing, Ultron with Infinity Stones and the Collector. I think these could make for cool figures especially in the CMF

    1 hour ago, mgetz said:

I need these infinity saga sets immediately. I bet someone has answered this, but is there specific time frame we will see the set pictures other than before the end of April?

Nah not really plus leaks seem random

  20. Anyways I saw the new Cap and Punisher on Instagram and I really like the torso prints for both characters. Punisher's face looks cute with the bandage though I think his hair piece kinda sucks and makes him look like a 50 year old dad. Wasn't surprised about LEGO making a Punisher fig since he appeared in kids shows like SuperHero Squad and was in the first LEGO Marvel game

Cap on the other hand looks decent with torso being a standout but I really wish there was dual molded legs for the character if TLG wasn't willing to fully print the feet. I'd take a blue and brown leg piece with no printing over the regular blue we've been getting

I did see on the forum that someone suggested that Thor would be a reused figure just with longer hair and I don't see LEGO doing that. Endgame Thor looks messier than Regular Thor so LEGO could simply print a messy beard on the face, whilst it would be ideal to have a beard mold, LEGO printing the Viking Thor beard makes more sense

Cool to know we can expect some more heroes? I say why not just complete that dang defenders! This is some street level fight!

No new villains other than Black Cat?  Oof, I was really hoping for more than that.  I really hope the next wave of comic Spider-Man sets improves the villain selection, because I was really hoping for this set to add at least a few more characters to the rogues gallery instead of just one.

More heroes?  That could be interesting.  Jessica Jones would still be my top pick.  I don't see her showing up outside of a 18+ set like this, plus I'm pretty sure she actually worked at the Daily Bugle in the comics at one point.  Then maybe throw in new variants of Luke Cage (either 1970's or modern design) and Iron Fist (maybe the white costume this time)  That lineup, combined with the confirmed Spider-Man, Daredevil and Punisher, would equal six heroes to balance out the Sinister Six.  Peter Parker and Jameson added to that lineup would bring the minifigure total to the 14 that was the minimum confirmed.  Stan Lee would be a fun bonus inclusion, but I'm not sure if LEGO would go that route.

But Falconfan literally said there's little chance of other Defenders members showing up. Maybe just future sets but in the Daily Bugle set nah

Peter has to be a new figure. The only Peter's we've gotten in the Super Heroes line are the one from FFH (with the MCU suit), and the homemade suit from the lair, no way they'll use the latter. So even if its a recycled Harry Potter body, the figure is technically exclusive. Just hope they do something about that damn head.

Also now we know for sure the CMF is MCU D+, I'm almost hoping for a first appearance Spider Man figure. Seems unlikely, but I thought a comic CMF would be our best shot. If not a figure, a newspaper Easter egg would also suffice

This is what I think could happen.

Peter's hair, torso and maybe leg print would be new but the face from FFH and the Spider Lair would be reused. Peter himself looks generic so I don't see how he'd be unique as a LEGO minifigure unless Lego makes Peter based on his Ditko appearance where he wears huge round glasses

Plus I have no problem with the current head, I think it works for a comic book Peter or older Peter like the PS4 Game. It does look weird on the MCU fig since that character is supposed to be younger
