    Wizarding World 2022 - Rumors & Discussion

@BrickBob Studpants Thank you! Definitely a better scale than the other Hogwarts Express. You tempted to display the car flying over? 😉 @Murdoch17 I think you are far more knowledgeable than me about car scales so I'll let you do the math, but I'd say we have a better set up than we did for recreating the battle between the Hogwarts Express and the Ford Anglia. 😃

That would be wonderful thank you . I would love the castle as well as the train, but just need to save ... A lot .

Question for anybody who now owns the new Hogwarts Express: How well does it scale with the latest Ford Anglia?. I'm guessing just from images it might scale pretty well, but hard to judge without owning the set myself.

@Salix A pixie is shown looking down at Harry from atop a pile of stuff as he enters the Room Of Requirement.

I'm just guessing, but as it was meant to be officially revealed on 16th August before Lego spectacularly screwed it up, then maybe that is the embargo date too.

I think he probably did. However, if he doesn't know by now how his IG comments will be analysed for proof of Gringotts then more fool him.

I know, but it feels like he's getting the idea of what works so if he was doing it he would know now to go in the more modular direction. We're just not in the same place we were with Lego buildings and sets as even four years ago when that first Sanctum was released. But yes, there are plenty of other great designers too.

Oh I totally agree. They have given us other arguably less famous locations this summer and I'm sure it's just a case of stretching the them out. Add to that the new decorations in the London Lego store and they clearly know that where DA is, Gringotts should be also. Marcos' comments indicate that he finished working on the train around a year ago so their planning is well ahead as we all know and he understandably can't reveal too much. I'm sure they will want to get Gringotts out there whilst DA is still on the shelves, but that's not retiring yet so they have ample time. I just hope that after all this Gringotts is done to the same scale and is compatible with DA. I can wait, but if they don't do that it would be completely illogical. I'm thinking maybe instead of a half baseplate it's a full one do that when you can put the two sides of DA facing inwards to create the street and then you can add Gringotts to the end to complete it. I don't know what Justin Ramsden is working on now, but the way he has taken the Sanctum Santorum and turned a set that has previously been done in say the style of the Ministry or Grimmauld and turned it into a more modular building it would be great if he could also get his hands on Gringotts. Haha thank you

The fact that Lego has just revealed, intentionally or not, their big grand Harry Potter set of the year and yet the focus of this chat has very quickly turned back to Gringotts should tell Lego everything they need to know. #thatwasnotthesetwewerelookingfor

I think it's gorgeous, but yet lacking e.g. the platform needed to be longer really or the arches and bridge come over like in the playscale set. I know the argument would be that it would be more expensive then, but it gets to a point where you look at something and start thinking that you really should be getting more for your money. Looking at it on the box I also wonder if the black base needed to be so high? Is there a reason that the top slope level needed to be there for instance? That would have saved a few bricks that could have gone elsewhere. The light bricks are novel, but unnecessary too I think. If Lego are going to make something a specific and very expensive price point then I would have rather those pieces / light budget went elsewhere. That being said, I can see this being very tempting as a display piece to even the casual fans as like a one off Lego purchase (or they think it's a one off; they will get sucked in haha)! and I can totally see us getting a D2C Quidditch Pitch next year in this line of display pieces.

Only because I suppose it is like something fans would really want so getting it as an extra secret thing would be real fan service. Now if someone in NZ could kindly cut the seals and show us.

    Wizarding World 2022 - Rumors & Discussion

Part of me is sure this is wishful thinking, but I was thinking kind of similar. Promobricks clarified that there should be a 8 x 16 tile in the set with the train ticket printed on it. Now either Promobricks has got it totally wrong, but they did clarify in their article today that it should be in there as well as the black plaque underneath the platform so they seem pretty sure, or there is an extra hidden box with a train ticket and maybe Ron and Hermione and their children. But like I say, pure wishful thinking although I did guess the D2C right so maybe ...

Let's be honest here, those two students are there for diversity, which I'm all for if say it is a creator or generic set, but when it's something licensed liked this and probably our only opportunity to get older Ron and Hermione, Rose and Hugo or even just Ron and Hemione it's disappointing.

Not me. I suggested it and always thought it was perfectly possible. Unfortunately whilst it is a lovely model, at that price it is a tough pill to swallow. But it's clearly aimed at catching the eye of even non-Lego fans and the general consumer as a recognisable display piece.

Front of the Hogwarts Express Box art has leaked. First impressions: there's not a lot of King's Cross for the money and whilst it is certainly impressive it just doesn't seem worth the money to me with just one carriage and little surrounding station. Of course, you can't see any figs and I'm sure that alone will make some of us buy this rather than pay secondary market prices for them all. But would I buy this for the train itself? No. Edit: Side of box with figs is also out there too.

I love that he has full printing right down to his legs, but I'm hoping that's not the correct hairpiece and just one the photographer put on considering that a) it's too dark for Lupin and b) they just used the other hairpiece in the Shrieking Shack set and the inconsistencies between leg size, hairpieces, cloth piece to print etc over a few small years is already annoying, but to change within a three month window would be ridiculous.

Think it's his Azkaban prisoner number tile like Bellatrix has in the CMF.

So Sirius's outfit is apparently the one from his Azkaban mugshot. I mean it's nice and all, but it feels like a strange advent calendar variant. Not very jovial

Clearly not a good representation of whatever it's meant to be. The plate colour would suggest something from Order of the Phoenix, but I'm currently confundussed. Room of Requirement maybe?

    Wizarding World 2022 - Rumors & Discussion

Pics of the advent calendar's contents are out. Have to say, this has to be the least exciting calendar of them all for me. Sure Sirius and Tonks are good to get, but when you've just got Grimmauld Place neither feel particularly special. And does Sirius even wear that outfit did we discover? Neville is also a welcome figure, but everything else just feels very plain and uninspired. I don't really like Christmas theme figs, unless they fit with the material so say Christmas at a Grimmauld Place would have been perfect, but there is not even any real Christmas theme to the builds. I will pick it up for the figs, but it really doesn't inspire me unfortunately.

I really hope so. With the Viking Ship, Goat boat, Friends houseboat etc there's certainly been enough water vehicles this year as you say so in terms of a Durmstrang Ship I can understand that ship having sailed for this year. But it would make sense for it to be a set for next year, seeing as what characters are notably missing at the moment e.g. Karkaroff, Merpeople, Skeeter. Now back to looking at my navel.

    Wizarding World 2022 - Rumors & Discussion

No not weird at all. If I was to ever scale down my collection then the vehicles would be the last thing to go before the minifigures. And it's totally up to you what you like anyway.

    Wizarding World 2022 - Rumors & Discussion

So Brickfanatics released an updated retiring soon article yesterday and, if they are correct, then 75976 Hedwig and 76386 Polyjuice Potion are no longer set to retire at the end of 2022, but will go until the end of 2023 instead. 71043 Hogwarts Castle was also reported to be retiring at the end of this year, but is now going to be produced until the end of 2024 apparently. Obviously none of this is official and if you do want the castle then it may still be a good idea if you can get it before the August / September price increase. https://www.brickfanatics.com/lego-harry-potter-retiring-2022-beyond-july/
