Since I'm building a mini-fig scale ship myself I voted for that one here.
But i want all of the things on this list except for the POTC stuff and the been there done that.
especially large mini-fig sets. Then my crew would count 250 souls in no time. :-P

Aha yet again a rebuild. *sweet*
How are you going to build the bow then?
Sturdiness is something which i already found out to be essential when building models this size
so i would say the sturdier the better :-D
Which color will your deck be in? Brown or tan or something else?
BTW both these versions look awesome. Keep up the good work *y*

I voted for Bonapartes ship for a second time.
It was again a tough decision i had to make but in the end i voted for what i thought to be the most original idea.
Still Benk has got himself a beautiful ship there to with some very cool details. I love the both of them and they should both be turned into lego sets *sweet*

For sure *y*In M&C the HMS Surprise had a crew of 197 souls and it was a 28 gun ship.
I saw 63(ish) MF's in that pic.
lets see...
(for)tymes(six-T three) is two times Gamma(6);
then add the denominator of 0.083333333333333333333333
and i get 252 souls on that ship.
That's a lot of ppl.
Maybe you only need 3 times the amount. X-D
Unless of course it's an american ship, then you need to put way more ppl than you need. :-D
BTW: This frigate is looking awesome so far *y*
P
Thanks phred :-$
Nah she remains french but she lready grew to become a 32gun ship so about 240-250 people is pretty ok i guess.
this pic shows my lovely ship and dog so i can show the size of this monster :-P
-
Well here you have some new pics.
The're taken with all of the crew i got right now.
The final crew will contain about 4 times more minifigs *sweet*
-
I voted for Lagoon lock-up because its the only one of these sets i used to own when i was a kid.
Love the other sets too though especially volcano island and the imperial outpost but i didn't vote for them because only my friends had them.
Jealousy is making my choice here :-P

How much is the estimate of the cost?I would guess that the total costs will be around 1500$ so for me it's around 1300

Yaar! Now that is cool. Just a pity that you havn't made one with real LEGO bricks. If you could get your hands on the pieces that would be awsom!Take a look at this thread Captain ;-)
-
Indeed my ship is (slowly) coming to life as you can see on this ultrapoor quality pic:
This is part of the bow and about half of it will be under water by the time the ship is finished.
Eventually there will be no white bricks visible on the outside of the hull anymore *sweet*
And to answer Mister Phes's question, yes I will be adding sails.
She will also be string rigged and have every possible detail that can be built with lego ;-)
-
Here's the design ;-)
-
Now that's interesting!! Finally one of your mighty constructions will come to live. *sweet*Since we don't have any pictures yet, could you perhaps tell a little backstory on the ship? Like the amount of guns, or who's the captain.
And on which of your creations will you base this frigate?
Eager to see some progress!
Here's the answer to some of your questions.
She will start out as a 24 gun frigate but with the idea to transform her into a 50 gun ship over time.
She's based on my latest design and will be built following that design more or less :-P
In time I will give her a small history and so forth. Captain's name is still unknown but i'm thinking about one as of now :-P
ps Pics will be coming pretty soon ;-)
-
The necessary bricks have arrived and I have started construction on the frigate. ;-)
-
Ruben did you do those alterations last night :-D
you're becoming more addicted to LDD than me *vader*
ps it looks better with the legthened rudders
-
It is a very tough choice but in the end i voted for Bonapartes ship *sweet*
My brother says he wants phred's ship to be a real lego set, i want this ship to be a real one too *wub*
same goes for all of the other entries though :-)
-
Go sharks go *sweet*
-
Thanks for the list Bonaparte.
Finally got a decent name "L'
-
it already looked great and now it looks even better.
ok and now i'll stop sucking up :-P
no seriously the rigging looks way better and i really like your capstan.
nice job *y*
-
tough choice but in the end pirates win for me.
why? because they have got ships :-P
still love fort legoredo though *wub*
-
well she will be French about mid-18th century ;-)
haven't got a good name for her yet though
so anyone who knows a good French name just shoot :-$

I'm not used to printing stuff on fabric but would it be possible to actually print these flags directly onto a piece of fabric or do you have to take the long way round and first put it on a piece of paper?
Ps the Henry Avery flag and the Blackbeard flag are sweeeet *y*
-
Pirates it is, i'll just conquer the naval ships and plunder their settlements harrr *sweet*Same goes for me *sweet*
-
gotta love this comic *sweet*
congratulations to the both of you Captain Greenhair and Mr Tiber for this nice job *y*
-
I got the dvd a week ago and i didn't get the chance to see it until Christmas 8-

There is the USS Ohio, here's the wiki link. I'm pretty sure it's the largest ship-of-line made by the US.As a ship of the line she wasn't that big actually i'd say she was normal size for a 100+ gun ship.
Back on your constitution though :-P have you made any progress yet since the last pictures? *wub*
