Fantastic review of this awesome set! I'm getting one this week when it's back in stock at my local LEGO store. I think this set is the value of the year for 2009.

I'll have to get some Imperial insignia round tiles for this set. I know it's a simple difference, but despite the detail and engineering of this set, it looks unfinished to me without the set. I'm also considering changing the flick fires to something like the guns on the 6206 TIE Interceptor.

I rarely pay full price for any set, but in any event, apologies for the damage to the camel's back. ;) The set looks good. I didn't get any of the Wookiee sets in 2005 so this is a good chance to get that part of the set. This might be better with CW clones, as the Phase II clone is a bit out of place.

I'm thinking about getting this set, but I will wait for a sale. I'm not paying full price, much less the TRU tax for this.

Yeah, but when a used and incomplete one (i.e. no minifigs) is $60+ USD on Bricklink, I'll pass. Looks like I'm settling then. :)

I was going to root for the black protocol droid as well! I can't afford to buy the Death Star!

Hey, I was just explaining the reasoning behind the typos. If I was really going to use him as an appeal to the "fuzzy side", I'd have posted baby pictures.

After I bought the new mini TIE Fighter, I was wondering if it was roughly in scale with the Midi Falcon. Thus, I am mildly curious about the set, but not so much that I'll pay $40 for it. If it goes to clearance for 1/2 price, I'll pick it up.

I looked over mine again and am hoping that there aren't points subtracted for typos. That's what I get for trying to post at the last minute, typing one handed while I hold my 4 month old son...

I'd guess that everybody hopes that they win. :D

Here is my extremely last minute entry. This is what happens when inspiration strikes later and I have to tear sets part to get the pieces I need. Be kind, as this is my first MOC in a while. This is the first time that Kranxx and P-Sqiuddy, A.K.A. Squidman, joined forces for criminal purposes. In a Grinch-like tactic to stop Christmas, the two villains conspired to burn down the Christmas tree farm on the edge of the spaceport, only to be caught in the act by the Space Police. Unfortunately, most of the trees had been burnt to a crisp by the flaming exhaust of Kranxx' hot rod speeder. P-Sqiddy made two bad moves: He attempted to bribe the officers, and after that tactic failed, he destroyed the K9 unit using an unlicensed Class III laser-based weapon. The officer coming over the icy hill collided with Kranxx, thus saving one tree. Kranxx was hospitalized and then arrested on a charge of malicious arson of celebratory foliage. P-Squiddy was arrested for bribery, assault, and bringing a sword to a gun fight. Santa was also notified, so both of them are permanent additions to the naughty list.

Wow! I already had this set at the top of my "must buy" list and this review justifies it. This set is an incredible value. 12 figures with a $99 set? That type of value hasn't been seen since the 6211 ISD or the Sail Barge. The new Leia hair and the commandos are fantastic, especially the helmets! I'd imagine that people are already checking their parts bins so they can add on to the bunker. Yes, the AT-ST needs a bit of a leg redesign and some greebling, but it's a good start on one that walks. I have 2 of the 7657 AT-ST and I'll just add them to the display for this. I will have an amazing time building this set.

Oh, forgot to mention that about 10 days ago, I got a 7675 AT-TE for $24 on clearance at Target.

I bought a Droid Gunship the other day, and won a MISB 7131 Anakin's Podracer off eBay. I think I might actually review that one in a couple of weeks.

I picked up two of the 8014 Clone Walkers and I finally picked up 10191 Star Justice for $35 US. Considering that it started out as $99.99, I'm happy that I got it for that price.

Count me in! Arrrr! I love free stuff, and especially free LEGO stuff!

1. Ok, this one is really old, but when I was 12 waaaay back in 1984, walked into the local arcade and saw Atari's Star Wars (the vector graphic game). Then, a few quarters later, I blew up the Death Star. I was a happy child that day. 2. Beating the huge robot in level 7 of the original Descent. Yes, the one that has the cloak and "one shot, one kill" type missiles. Those of you who have tried it will understand. 3. This one also goes way back - getting 10,000 points on Kaboom! for the Atari 2600. This paused the game briefly and the mad bomber looked quite impressed in all of his 4 bit glory. Then, the bombs started falling again... I guessed the twist in KOTOR (don't ask me how) and then when it turned out I was right, I was a little disappointed. Still, one of the best games I've ever played. But, guessing correctly keeps it out of the top 3.

I thought I was the only EB member around Sacramento, so it's nice to see some other folks here. I've known about this for about 3 weeks - saw the bright yellow partition in front of the store with "Coming Soon" etc. on it. My wife had to calm me down. I am sure that I will go once prior to the grand opening and then again at the grand opening. I'd be interested in volunteering as well.

I have a bunch of ships hanging from the ceiling, some on shelves, and some on the floor. I don't have any real good pictures of the collection, but when I do, I'll put em up somewhere so you can witness my nerdiosity.

I'll join. I've been wanting to do a review or two for a while, but until I was finished with law school and the bar exam, I was just too busy. Besides, this will only help me with photography ideas for a couple of MOCs I've been wanting to do. Thanks!
