  1. Hi guys, here is my entry for the "Local Landmarks Contest":

    I decided to rebuild the King-Friedrich-August-Tower (König-Friedrich-August-Turm) which is located in eastern Germany nearby the town Löbau and is named after a former king of Saxony (Friedrich August II.).

    It's the only observation tower made of cast iron in Europe that still exists and the parts of the tower were actually made in the iron works of my hometown Bernsdorf back in 1854!

    During realizing it in LEGO there were some problems to solve. The base of the tower is a regular octagon, which is not the most common shape of Lego parts and I had to find parts that can represent the iron construction.

    I decided to use the binocular piece which ended up in a very fragile construction. But, finally I am very pleased with the result, even if it is a little bit unstable ;)
