    Star Wars TTfigs

Thanks for the comments! I tried the same thing when making the blasters, but the bar just sticks out too much to look good. With that brick at the end of the blaster though, the battle droid can grip it with the left hand. I have enough clips to make about 40 of them in tan, and I'll make some in the RC sheme. I won't be able to make the Geonosis version at the moment though since the droid arms don't exist in dark red and the rest of the parts don't exist in sand red. TT

Team Fortress 2: EB Guild (PC on Steam)

I play it regularely, but on PS3. The only platform never to receive ANY additional content... (I have excellent sniping skills for a PS3 player BTW ) I am however planning on getting it for PC though in the near future, so I'd join the guild TT

    Star Wars TTfigs

Greetings all, I'm sorry these get posted so late. They previewed on the BeLUG event at Tielt earlier this month, and thanks to the series 4 raffle I finally took pictures of them. B1 and OOM series battle droids From left to right: B1 battle droid (infantry), OOM series commander, OOM series security, OOM series pilot. The OOM series was programmed more intelligently and had a somewhat higher form of independence. The OOM series was used as the basis for the B1 series, which could be mass produced. The most famous battle droid was OOM-9, the battle droid commander who commanded the invasion force during the invasion of Naboo. One note here: the commander uses only one antenna here, while he uses two in the movies. If I wanted two antennae, I'd have to resort to the grill piece and this doesn't represent the slender look of the commander backpack well. My battle droid design compared to the original. While not superarticulated, they can strike better poses than the official one and I can replicate unique colour designs like those from Republic Commando. Comments and criticism are as always very appreciated! TT

    NUMBER FOUR RAFFLE Entry Thread

Battle droids in action! The official droid is overwhelmed and can only watch in silence as his FOUR more articulated brothers strike awesome action poses. TT

    Female Vampire

Splendid looking minifigure! The colour combos and mix of classic and new parts looks wonderful. TT
  6. Well I'll certainly enter this contest. Now I can finally unleash all the disturbing ideas I never dreamt of making in LEGO! I'll certainly enter category C and maybe one of the others aswell. Just one question, the minifigures do have to be yellow right? (or are all tones of flesh allowed aswell?) TT

    3D theater release

The battle droids are just getting up and marching straight forward. (controlled by computer) The way the clones turn 45 degrees and switch their rifles perfectly at the same time is pure discipline. TT

    3D theater release

Very true. Although the beginning of ROTS was more of a thrill for me. (Well I didn't see ESB in theaters.) The sole Venator flying by with just the drums is just epic if the sound is as good as in theaters, and then the Force theme appears when both Jedi starfighters fly in and gently fly along it. Everything seems quite calm until they fly down and that's when you see the giant battle going on. Masterful combiantion of music and scene. Although I'd have to say, the scene that gave me the most 'chills' in terms of space scenes was at the end of ROTS. The Venators and V-Wings are stripped of their colours and you see the very start of the Galactic empire. The Jedi and clone crew have been replaced by uniformed naval crewman and officers, who only just began to learn how to handle the star destroyers. (one officer helps one of the crewman) The scene ends with the basic construction of what will be the Death Star, all the while playing a mix of the funeral theme and the Imperial march. (reflection of Darth Vader's thoughts at that time, the love that has died and the incarnation of fear he has become.) I'm enormously looking forward to seeing this in 3D. About all the tweaking in the OT: yes, some of them annoy me (Boba Fett's voice change for example) but the point of view now is different now than 30 years ago: the OT formed one complete story, which in general was a bit 'light hearted' (less dramatic than now) and really showed the good vs. bad storyline. With the addition of the prequels, the OT has been integrated into the saga and the story isn't about Luke anymore. The main storyline of the Star Wars movies is that of Anakin Skywalker, as Lucas intended. But Anakin's story is different from Luke since a lot more dark elements are added in, which completely turns the atmosphere around. Where the OT was a story with a happy ending, the prequels and all games and EU sources have shown that the OT is only a small part of the saga. The very essence of the Star Wars universe is that there is no 'happy ending' or victory for the good (the Empire wasn't destroyed in ROTJ) but that there will always be 'wars' amongst the 'stars'. In this way, Star Wars represents human life and history perfectly. So I'd say, if you want the original story, watch the original versions. If you want to see the movies as a part of the entire Star Wars saga and universe (nostalgica aside) watch the newer versions, especiallly in 3D. Any way, as long as the original versions will be included in the Blu-ray/DVD releases, there isn't much to complain about. One of the main reasons to keep updating the OT is to remove the imaginary line between both trilogies. (Personally, I agree since I don't want to see the OT as 'those old movies' but rather as a part of the bigger picture. One thing that always bothered me is the lightsaber duel in ANH. Those lightsabers are way outdated and don't even have the white line in the middle, which is included in every other movie though. I hope they'll standardize some of the effects in these 3D versions.) One last note: the scene I'm most looking forward to in 3D... The Clone Troopers marching on Kamino. Blew me away the first time I saw it, imagine seeing that in 3D! TT

    Belville figures dissection?

Hello everyone, I got my first Belville set today (should I feel proud? ) and was wandering through Bricklink today. Since the amount of Belville figures isn't that huge (especially male), I was wondering if any of you already tooke some figures apart and switched heads, arms, etc. Having one figure at the moment, I don't want to force it to see if the head etc. is removable. If I understand correctly, the older figures have arms like the big Technic figures used to have, and are therefore easily removable. The newer ones however seem to be more difficult to remove. Also, are lims, heads,... switchable between 'grown up' and 'child' figures? Any advice, ideas, pictures would be appreciated. And if you must know, I'm looking if I can make some Belville cavalry! TT EDIT: Disection in the title should be dissection of course.

    Belville figures dissection?

Ah excellent, that's what I was hoping for. Due to the lack of many colours in the male Belville range the Technic figures might be able to offer aditional options. TT

    Belville figures dissection?

Indeed. The set I got BTW is this one (and dark pink REALLY is DARK pink quite a special colour.) : Got it at 5O% off this saturday (dusty box! Parts were new though. ), always wanted a belville figure to see how the scale would work. And once the girl was mounted, I was amazed with how realistically she was sitting on the horse. The sadle wraps around around her legs a bit aswell which makes her sit quite firm on it aswell. The scale offers a lot of possibilities but it's a shame only so few males are released. I wonder if they can be combined in some way with the technic figure though? TT

    Belville figures dissection?

Well nothing an armoured breastplate can't cover up I'm planning on making a French cuirassier: Once I get an adult figure, I'll see if I can come up with armour, helmets etc. made out of LEGO parts. If it works, it should be interesting. (turning a girl theme into a battle hardened man theme ) All weapons will have to be completely redesigned because of the change in size though. TT

    Belville figures dissection?

Ah, most excellent news. I'll order a few and see what I can come up with. Also, do you have any idea if the hands from children are interchangeable with adults? And if female/male limbs can be swapped? I'll post the results of my project here when finished. TT EDIT: accidently hit the submit button
  16. I think it might be a brown western rifle but don't know for sure yet. This series is looking GREAT so far, especially with the first Roman themed minifigure ever! British guard will be an absolute army builder. Loving all of them except the clown and dwarf. I seriously hope the series won't include an army of clowns like Playmobil's Specials have... TT

    MOC IG-88

Looks great! Overall I like this one better than your inspiration one, this one's built more in proportion and in scale of minifigs. I like the use of the halfpin's mold marks as details on the face aswell.

The Brickforge pauldrons use a thickness around the neck that's thicker than the epaulettes as far as I remember from pictures I've seen. And I'm a purist aswell, so you won't be seeing anything from vendors on my MOCs. I think I'll make small instruction sheets using ldraw for events which I'll also post online later on. I won't be uploading anything for the next 16 days since my exams are starting tomorrow, but as soon as they're over, I'll post a new MOC in this thread Thanks again for the comments! TT

Thanks for all the comments and I see I've received a title aswell! I use epaulettes in order to get the arms more colour accurate (e.g. Boba Fett's pauldrons) or to show a difference in texture on the arms. I don't use them on stormtroopers since the arms are already armoured but the snowtrooper has very few armoured parts on his arms. (The shoulder pads are quite large aswell.) I compared the fig with a Hasbro figure both with and without the epaulettes, and without them it doesn't look good enough on this scale. (It ruins the more stretched look of these figs) Here is an image to visualise it: I wasn't sure about the colour of the arms either. Some shots showed the clothing underneath as regular white and some showed it as a more gray or tan look like the image above. Still I think that light gray or tan would look too powerful compared to the white. On second thought, I might do a light gray and tan version aswell and let you decide what's best. TT EDIT: @ Brickartist: yes I'll be doing a Grievous in the future, probaply using the head of the CW Grievous.

And here he is: First of all, I'm not happy with the blaster. This'll be replaced by a more accurate E-11 design when I get the parts together. The snowtrooper, perhaps the most menacing looking type of imperial infantry. The Tamina (PoP) keychains were on sale on Shop@Home so it was the perfect opportunity to check if this design would work with the cape. The cape is a bit too long and because of it's stiffness he isn't able to stand up properly but that'll change over time or when he's on a base. Comments are appreciated as always. TT

Feel free to use the designs (I'm honoured BTW ) but I'd prefer it if you'd post them seperately, if only to avoid confusion. @Mr. Sandman: thanks I'll be posting the completed B1 and OOM series at the end of this month, including instructions. I'm going to take pictures of the snowtrooper now, so they'll be up here within an hour or so. TT

Well I removed the minifig hand in the last shot to make it look like a clean cut. The minifig hand is used in all the other pictures though. The legs use an opposite design where I put the T piece on backwards in order to be able to fit that plate with clip onto it. The hand is just behind where the plate attaches and the hand 'base' is now in the most forward space of the torso, instead of the back. Hope that helps TT

It is, but I wanted to show Maul's death in the last picture @Prateek: Thanks, but all parts are available in tan. I'm in the process of getting all of them together to build around 30 of them. @ Brickdoctor and Matiam92: well if the head is the problem, it'll be changed anyway this summer when the new head is released. (and this head wasn't really designed to work without the hood.) Thanks for all the comments, almost thought Maul wouldn't get any love from you guys That being said, I'll post my snowtrooper later this day. TT
