For those who have not seen Disney's Pocahontas yet: shame on you. Redeem yourself by watching the song: Mine, mine, mine! So this is the first of my Disney figures (from the so called Disney renaissance era) and an odd choice aswell. I was planning on posting Ratcliffe in his purple outfit but I don't have enough purple parts yet to finish him. So since it's basically the same outfit, I used the colours from the song "mine, mine, mine". Governor Ratcliffe leads the Virginia Company, and as soon as they arrive he has his crew digging for gold. Thinking he'll find "MOUNTAINS" of gold, he's already dreaming away, which is where this golden outfit comes into play. The Jack Sparrow head has a smirk and 'scared' face which is great since I can use it for his 'singing' face. The only thing missing is the yellow cape which I have to order from BL. I used two of those dragon capes instead until it arrives. Ironically, the hair is a 'savage' Native American headpiece. As is always the problem with lego, the hair and hat can't be combined which is a shame. Luckily for me, the hat also exists in purple for his regular outfit. I'll work on several others figures as soon as the exams are over. (Normal Ratcliffe, Frollo, ...) I'm also thinking about making brickfilms about certain scenes or songs, but that won't be for any time soon. Comments and constructive criticism are as always very welcome and appreciated! Gaetano

Yes indeed, slowly conquering every theme! Although I'll mostly make Disney renaissance figures, I'll also make some from Toy Story and Pirates of the Carribean and perhaps even Dastan from PoP. Thank you, Frollo will be next I think. The Lion King is quite different of course, but I'll get to it eventually. (I have to rewatch the movies though! ) Cheers, Gaetano

Thank you, and thanks to the plate etc. he does actually look a bit fat, but I can't get him to look as fat as in the movie though! Since LEGO has a license for Disney, I thought it would belong here better but yes, sadly they haven't released any sort of Disney renaissance sets. I have/wear an ushanka myself, and the shape (not the colours) of Panaka's cap is similar to it if the ear flaps are put around the neck. But yeah, the colours make this specific piece not really useful for ushankas. (Or is it... It's dark RED isn't it? ) Gaetano

Hello Captain Bayonet, it's always a pleasure seeing someone else use this design. The figure looks nice, I like the asymmetric look of the legs. About the size, this is a plate higher than my regular TTfigs, but I use this size aswell when I need to make tall figures like grenadiers, Darth Vader, ... Especially the tooth piece as a chin guard only works when the legs (minus the feet) are 5 plates tall. Good work! 'Tano

Salve! I'll be working on several figures and scenes from the Ancient Antiquity, most notably Romans but other cultures aswell. (Greek scenes will finally become a reality thanks to the Spartan Collectible Minifigure.) The focus of these MOCs will be historical accuracy, and highlighting periods of the Antiquity that are often forgotten or misinterpred. (Republican Rome for example.) To start off, perhaps one of the most recognisable troops of the era (well, next to the Classical Greek hoplite): the Roman legionair from the 1st-2nd Century AD. This was the time when Rome reached the height of its power, and when the Pax Romana (the peace within the Empire itself) was (more or less) sustained. (No civil wars that tore the Romans apart and rebellions such as in Judea were succesfully crushed.) After many, many years (that would be around 6, I have done everything from purist to custom) I have finally come up with a sturdy, bent scutum design that can also be decorated like the original. I actually got the idea for this design while sitting in my Ancient Antiquity class. The pilum is also a new design. This version, with the ball-shaped weight was introduced later on than the regular one with the trapezoid base. The extra weight made it more accurate and easier to throw. And I was able to use my Latin aswell. Foolish are those who say it's a useless class at school! Well this is it for now, but I'm working on some Republican Romans which I'll hopefully be able to post soon. Comments and constructive criticism are as always appreciated! TT

I've finally managed to create instructions for my TTfigs, as requested by several people: Since these are meant to be printed and handed out at events, could you all look and see if you can follow the instructions without any troubles or confusion? These need to be able to explane the technique to someone who has a basic knowledge of LEGO, so if you find something that bothers you, let me know! TT

Hello everyone, over the past months I've been designing and gathering the parts for the first part of my project. Eventually, it'll be the depiction of certain parts from the battle of Waterloo (18th of June 1815). The first step in this project over many years is creating the first battalion of the "45ème régiment d'infanterie de ligne". This regiment was one of the two regiments who lost its precious eagle at the battle of Waterloo. (a scene which I'm planning to recreate.) Some of my WIP pictures have been posted on Brickshelf (which is sadly down at the moment), but the first two complete companies were presented this weekend at the Belug Brickmania weekend at Wilrijk, Belgium. Eventually the battlion will be three times the size of these troops. The companies depicted are the grenadiers and the 4th company of fusiliers. Grenadiers were the strongest, tallest and bravest men of the battalion, and wore distinctive red epaulettes and plumes. The 4th company of fusliliers (=standard Napoleonic French infantryman) was the company that held the port-aigle. Thank you all for commenting, much appreciated! He is quite poseable, but the epaulettes need to be removed to give his arm a bit more range when doing action shots. I'm glad the rapier/foil was released with such a short handle. At first I didn't like it for the foil, but it worked out great for the pilum. TT

This is an outstanding MOC! You managed the capture the feel of Venice perfectly like the architecture and the degrading lower levels of the houses. Many excellent details aswell, especially the bird and the postcard stand. TT

I saw the sets on shop@home and thought the same thing... The sets themselves aren't available in stores anymore. (I was able to get one half price a few months ago.) I don't know about the wacky prices, but they do seem to be still available on shop@home so I'd try that or visiting a Legoshop. TT
