LEGO Ninjago 2024 Rumours and Discussion

Recent images make it look like the arms are transparent (You can see the ends of the hands through the plastic) and given the wispy designs on the chest, I think this design is just for Cinder. The initial images didn't look very good, but newer and better ones are convincing me more and more. I like the use of the ghost tail to replicate his powers, and the armor peice looks good too, even if the show's design raised our expectations. I do wonder if the set will include an alternate pair of legs to use with the figure, though I would expect them to be unprinted. Can't wait to see more!

    Marvel Superheroes 2024 - Rumors & Discussion

Yeah, I think it was an attempt at rage bait, especially given the choice of Mario (getting maxfigs before minifigs would be aggravating) and DC (Another batman v joker AND non-minifig related set would also be aggravating). Sonic was the only one listed that wouldn't have caused a riot, so it was probably thrown in there as a bit of filler, maybe a reference to last year's fake sonic set descriptions that were also a prank. Gave me a chuckle though.

LEGO Ninjago 2024 Rumours and Discussion

Didn't think of it that way. If he really is the overarching villain of DR, then yes, it would be better for later on. Who knows right now though. I was counting Tox in that number, since counting her and the general gives us 2/5 so far. The thing with Cinder is that it would be confusing to me to have a villain group that is all elemental masters, but also have another evil elemental master that isn't part of that group involved in the story. Just seems like a strange choice. Honestly, it doesn't make sense either way, unless he's related to one of them or something.

LEGO Ninjago 2024 Rumours and Discussion

Yeah, I'm surprised that not many people are talking about this. This is the same site that gave us accurate descriptions of the march sets before they were revealed, especially with the figure selection. The description of the Tournament Arena sounds awesome, two dueling platforms with traps, and a statue of a mysterious Master Wu looking character. Could it be the person in the secret book in the Dragon Stone Shrine? Maybe he was the original master of the shadow dojo. Cole's mech is supposed to use the ornithopter wings for swords, which speaks to how large this mech is. Finally, a new piece is used for the 'spectral forms' of the other source dragons, as well as the dragon having a 'throne' and 'gong'. Maybe a good counterpart of the gong of shattering? I suspect Tox is not actually Tox, but a new master of poison.I also suspect the 'general' in the combo vehicle is another one of the forbidden five, with the other two/three (is Cinder one of them?) in Cole's mech. The biggest bummer is no mention of Ra's master in the dragon. That was one of the coolest parts of the original description to me. I hope this is an error and he's still in there, but I guess we're still getting plenty of new villains in this wave.

    2024 Space sets

Was waiting to see the official price before saying anything, because the rumored $35 sounded suspiciously cheap, but the target listing confirms it! This set looks fantastic, I like how it's trying to be a complete living space, which is definitely something the big base was missing. That fact becomes even better given that the sets are meant to combine, so you can add the living quarters to the base. I also really like the rock/plant column in the center, it really makes it seem like the lab was built around this specimen in order to study it better. The little alien in the space outfit is adorable, and I like the inclusion of the wheelchair compatible space scooter! My biggest gripe is the repetition of the pilot commander from the $20 set, but if you swap out the arms, hand, and head and give her the helmet from the alien buddy, you can make a generic pilot, so that's what I'm going to be doing with the set. At $35. this is pretty much a mast-have for me!

    Marvel Superheroes 2024 - Rumors & Discussion

Yeah, the whole Batman Bike minifig rumor is a misinterpretation of FalconFan's (now deleted) Instagram post that said 'includes figure', referring to the brickbuilt figure. Since the post is gone now, it's easy to say that it said 'minifigure' but that's not what it meant.

LEGO Ninjago 2024 Rumours and Discussion

Ras is still using the Mallet of Shattering, (now with trans red instead of trans light blue) which tells me that the current villain faction continues into the summer. Otherwise, why would the mallet matter? Also, like others have said, the red ties him closer to the blood moon and gong of shattering than before, which would line up with the description of 'Ra's master' as the figure on the gong. The toe detailing matches the details on the January outfit, while the crescent shape kneepads are present on Cinder and Jordana, which would make sense if these were still the same villain faction. The stickers in the shadow dojo show the wolf mask warriors with red eyes and teeth, so maybe those stickers are a teaser for the summer?

I have to agree that the new Ras looks pretty sick, but... I was fine with the January fig not having printed arms (he's wearing a robe with sleeves) but this fig absolutely should have had them. He's literally shirtless, and it would look so good with the red striping on the torso and the head! Worst part is, unlike with the January figure, you can't just reuse the season 1 arms, since the stripes have changed color. But like others have said, I'm wondering if the wolf warriors are changing too. Maybe using red for the eyes/wrap instead of dark azure?

LEGO Ninjago 2024 Rumours and Discussion

Oh man, the Shadow Dojo is hands down my favorite Ninjago set this year. The sense of scale is fantastic, and the colors work so well together. The arena is great to have, especially with the clear parts to pose minifigs on. I'm just so glad to get a great, large villain lair. It also has plenty of minifigs for the price, including all of the main villains! Fantastic, I'll definitely pick this up at some point. Arin's buggy doesn't do it for me. It's overpriced, messy in terms of the colors (yellowish orange, dark blue, sand green interior, and the very obvious purple technic parts? bleh) and the 'spoiler' with the technic parts in the back just make it look hollow to me. On top of that, it's at least $10 overpriced, maybe $15 or $20 if we factor in the parts count. I still really like young Riyu, cute small dragon. Dragonstone temple still looks very overpriced, and the interior is very cramped honestly. I feel better about Kai's mech than before, but the lack of elbows and spindly technic arms still kill it for me, on top of it looking pretty small for $70. Overall, I'll probably pick up young Riyu and the Shadow Dojo. The rest is pretty meh.

LEGO Ninjago 2024 Rumours and Discussion

The first descriptions did give me a different picture than this, but the later ones where pretty close honestly. The set does look really nice, but I definitely don't see $120 here. For the size I would honestly say $80, but given the parts count and density I guess $100 would make sense? But even at that price I still wouldn't buy it. I just hope the Shadow Dojo is a better deal than this.

LEGO Ninjago 2024 Rumours and Discussion

I think when they said that, they were referencing the fact that although every OG ninja may not appear in every season/arc, we will still get minifigs of their outfits. Of course, I also assumed they meant Sora and Arin, but that was the main point of that statement.

LEGO Ninjago 2024 Rumours and Discussion

We haven't seen how long the ponytail is, so we don't know if that's the case. I think it's because a lot of the new parts have been restricted to the march wave. The biggest example we have so far is the new wolf blade piece that we see in the 4+ set, while all the January sets use claws or the Pharma's Quest sword instead. They probably used the two waves to split the new parts budget, which means that there are certain parts that could only be used in the March wave and not the January wave, and I suspect Sora's hairpiece was reserved for the March wave.

LEGO Ninjago 2024 Rumours and Discussion

I'm also disappointed the outfits are the same. With how Ninjago loves giving the Ninja new suits with every wave, it just seems strange that they refuse to do the same with the main character of their new show. I guess it's intentional so that the characters remain easily identifiable, like lots of other cartoons do. The new hairpiece for Sora is great though. I don't think the build looks bad either, it's a nice posable cheap dragon build. The limbs look a little stubby, but I would want to see another pose before I judge. It also may be so that Riyu looks young, especially since he's still being called a baby.

Batman (DC Superheroes) 2024 - Rumors & Discussion

Lo, can't say I'm terrible surprised by the outcome here. I am glad that DC is getting mechs too though, hopefully (sooner than later) we start getting some cool figures with those. As for the rest of the sets, not expecting much honestly. The idea of a $60 batmobile doesn't thrill me, but maybe there's some kind of side build for Harley or Mr. Freeze. Maybe the 4+ set has some good prints?

Batman (DC Superheroes) 2024 - Rumors & Discussion

Yout jest, but it's worth noting the set is labeled as 12+. Usual play sets of that price usually have a smaller age range, and most of the 12+ sets of this price that I can find on Lego.com are display sets, like the mini princess castles. I don't have high hopes for that set.

    Super Mario 2024 - Rumors & Discussion

Set listing leaks for 2HY, and we have 3 $50 sets with suspiciously low part counts... Sorry to everyone expecting things to change with the retiring sets, but it looks like Lego is sticking with the digi-figs. Given that they are retiring everything, I wonder if this is a 2.0 kind of thing. Very torn if it is, since I'm curious to see what else they could add, but I also don't like the idea of having to re-buy the starter courses for the newest sets to be compatible.

    Marvel Superheroes 2024 - Rumors & Discussion

Eh, we got punisher in the Daily Bugle. He's one of Marvel's most violent and mature characters. I think if we get Deadpool this year, it'll be in the x-mansion. Probably another comic outfit though.

Sonic the Hedgehog - Rumours and Discussion

Maybe Ok, this actually sounds pretty good. Hopefully the knuckles set is a better build this time around, also very happy to see that the Master Emerald is coming in another set. Not expecting much from the boat honestly. Very exciting to finally see Super Sonic though! Not surprised he's in the most expensive set, but what does surprise me is the subject matter. I quickly looked up the Egg Drillster, and I can't imagine how Lego could manage to make a $100 set from that thing. Maybe it's like the $100 set from last year, and it has a lot of terrain bits? On the subject of Super Sonic, I'm expecting him to reuse the shadow head piece, since they have similar shaping. As for any other new figs we might get, no clue. Maybe Big the Cat is fishing with Tails on his boat

LEGO Ninjago 2024 Rumours and Discussion

Very small wave it seems. Not too surprising given we're getting a March wave too. The only ones that sound interesting to me are the Tournament Arena, Cole's Titan Dragon Mech, and the Source Dragon of Fire. I've had this idea of a Ninjago mech that can transform into a dragon, so I'm hoping that's what Cole's mech will be? I also want to see how a dragon of that scale and parts count looks and feels, that's exciting. As for the Tournament Arena, I just hope it has plenty of figures and a good arena build. Are we expecting new villains for these? Or is it just more wolf warriors? From my understanding, the whole year is dedicated to DR season 2, but I haven't seen anything to confirm we're getting the same villains throughout. Also curious to see if the climber suits continue or if we get new ones. Maybe the villains will also get new variants, maybe some new generals? I would probably prefer that the sets use the same minifigs (makes them easier to collect) but I suspect they'll be changing things up like they do every wave.

    Marvel Superheroes 2024 - Rumors & Discussion

Ok, I like a lot of the things from this summer wave! The Surtur set is a very pleasant surprise! I hope this means we'll get more sets from different films in the future, rather than just focusing on the Avengers and Iron Man movies. I'm expecting at best Thor and Hela, but wouldn't be surprised if it's just Thor. Exciting either way! The Iron Legion vs Ultron Sentry battle back also sounds great, even if it doesn't make sense given that they never interacted in the film. This seems like a direct response to the lack of iron legion drones in the tower, and also a good way for people to army build the ultron drones. I'm hoping it's at least two of each, that would probably be ideal given the price. The Avengers Battle is certainly vague. Given it seems to be based on the first Avengers, there really isn't much in terms of figures that we haven't gotten already, so I suspect a few reuses from the tower will show up. As for the build, no clue. Maybe we finally get a mini fig scale leviathan? I'm very glad to see we're getting an AoU final battle set! This is probably the most fitting of all the final battles for the black base diorama style, given that the location of the battle is a circular building anyways. I'm hoping it feels more substantial than the two we've gotten so far, but I think I'm expecting too much given the amount of figures that will probably be included. I suspect the only bad guy here will be Ultron so that people are more compelled to get the battle pack, so I hope most of the figure selection is dedicated to the Avengers that we haven't yet gotten updated AoU outfits for. I'm also curious as to how Lego will make Ultron this time around, will they just use a printed head? Use the one piece Iron Man helmet? Or bring back the 2015 parts? (probably not the last one) The large scale Milano is great for the fans who've wanted one, but I'll probably pass. Maybe we'll finally get a new Drax with printed arms? Also would be neat to see if they bring back Star Lord's helmet. The midi-scale helicarrier could be great, but I don't like the small parts count. Hopefully it doesn't seem too overpriced. As for what I'd realistically pick up, probably the Surtur set, the battle pack, and either of the Avengers sets. I never got any of the old AoU sets, so I'll probably be drawn to that one, but I don't want to rule out whatever the other one could be yet. Pretty exciting wave overall!
  22. Merry Christmas! Back in late November I had an idea for a holiday themed model, and I finished it just in time! It made sense for Santa to be a part of the DreamZzz world, and I wanted to make something more fantastical than many of Lego's own Christmas models. I'm very glad with how this turned out! The model has 959 parts, and 3/4 different builds. There's a small hideout for the villain, a nightmare monster present, Santa's sleigh, and the reindeer. It was very fun to work out the different portions of the model, and I'm very happy how this turned out. As all DreamZzz sets do, this one has an alternate model! It was quite a challenge to make sure both models were stable and strong while minimizing the extra parts needed. There's also the base model, which I wanted to make sure captured the basics of the Sleigh without the extra bits. There's also an interior to the sleigh with the toys and a large hourglass, and the villain hideout also has a prison cell inside. There's five minifigs included, Mateo, Zoey, Santa Claus, and elf, and Dark Frost. It took me a while to come up with a festive nightmare villain. At first I wanted to do something like the Grinch or Crampus, but the color scheme was too garish to make it work. There's also a candy cane staff for Santa which includes the hourglass, as well as the Naughty/nice list, which has been stolen by Dark Frost. I liked the idea of the list being absurdly long, and the 2x3 tile with clips was perfect to make it work. Finally, I made a 360 video so you can see all the details, including the wreath on the back of the sleigh. (you'll have to click on the link to watch it) https://bricksafe.com/files/The_Fiery_Rooster/moc/santa-dreamzzz/360 Video.mp4 I very much enjoyed making this, and I hope you enjoyed it too! Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!

Yeah, super suspicious about the April 2024 release date. However, the set sounds great! I'm so glad we're actually getting another Red Hulk, hopefully a summer set includes the Avengers Tower Hulk (or a different one, maybe an angry face?) so the new style is more accessible to everyone.
