  1. Agreed, same size, but with disappointingly limited space for minifigs. Will require more modding than 75055 by the look of it. But more visually interesting. Better get collecting black Technic push-pins to replace all the ugly red ones in the set!

The resistance bomber looks like it will stand on its "foot", which is an impressive piece of engineering if it's stable. Really interesting design.

  2. Wonder how long these images will stay up... loving the look of these sets. Glad I've got a new job for September!

That Star Destroyer looks like the perfect FO update of 75055... hopefully, like that set, there will be loads of room to put minifigures in - I have 32 in mine - so we have somewhere to put all the excess FO crew from battle packs :)

Went for the reviews, stayed for the music. He's done all but the quadjumper, tracker 1, hyperdrive ring and the buildings figures.

Thanks for the comment! Don't know of anyone else using original music in LEGO reviews :) Still unsure about getting the other sets, plus they're starting to appear elsewhere now, so others will be reviewing them. I have limited space here.

My review of The Arrowhead is now up:

Can you confirm if the clone gunner can fit in the cockpit with the hatch closed? Major deciding factor for me.

Yes, fits in fine. No place in there for the blaster though, and it looks a bit naff clipped on outside.

Yeah, the costume designers choose to have the uniform simpler for higher ranking officers.

Great to see the other reviews are up!

Thanks, not very up-to-date on my Wookiepedia reading!

So the great rush to review these sets begins!

Good review, though i recommend you speed up the building part, especially if you move onto larger sets.

Also, that is an officer figure. First Order officers ranking major or colonel wore teal coloured uniforms (Though depicted as dark blue in the set).

Looking forward to the other reviews!

Thanks for the tip. Unfortunately Vegas only does time-lapse at maximum 4x speed by default, which is a pain. But I tried to speed things up for my review of the Republic Fighter Tank (75182). Picked up a Bounty Hunter Speeder Bike Battle Pack in Toys'R'Us this afternoon, so that'll be next.

As for the confusion over the figure, I'm sure you're right, but I would have expected some kind of code cylinders or something on an officer, rather than a plain blue tunic? Certainly the grey figures all had them. But whatever, best battle pack in some time IMO.

  6. Summer wave sets are out in Hong Kong (and Singapore, I believe) so I placed a Toys'R'Us order that arrived today:

3x 75166 First Order Transport Speeder Battle Pack
    1x 75180 Rathtar Escape
    2x 75182 Republic Fighter Tank
    1x 75186 The Arrowhead

along with 1x 75165 Imperial Trooper Battle Pack and 2x 75132 First Order Battle Pack

  7. So the new sets only seem to be available in Hong Kong thus far. I picked up a couple from Toys'R'Us, and have reviewed the first of them on my YouTube channel. I believe this is the first review of this set on YouTube. Not up to the professional standards of Jang and the like, but I hope it's useful for people.

LEGO Star Wars 75166 Review - First Order Transport Speeder Battle Pack

I'll build and upload videos of 75180 Rathtar Escape, 75182 Republic Fighter Tank and 75186 The Arrowhead over the next few days. Not picked up (and have no particular plans to pick up) any of the other sets.

  8. Seems strange that out of all the Rogue One sets, we still don't have a Galen Erso. Or Saw Guererra, but he would be difficult to fit into a set.

I'm very pleased to see the new Aayla Secura figure. Still want a Shaak'Ti one though (and a couple of the other PT / CW jedi)

  9. I had LEGO Town and Space as a child (born in 78); I distinctly remember having the Police Station and Fire Station for Christmas and the Bike Shop for my birthday the same year. Entered my dark ages in my mid teens, and other than a small handful of SW sets I picked up (original AT-AP, Naboo Starfighter, V-Wing and a few battle packs) I could never really justify spending the money on LEGO (mortgages, bills, guitars (I'm a semi-pro musician) and other things came higher up the priority list and money was always tight). Then we moved to Hong Kong in 2013. All of a sudden, we had money. So I officially came out of my dark ages when I got the 75055 ISD for Christmas 2014, and the bug bit. I could have bought another car (or a couple of really nice guitars) with the money I've spent on LEGO since...

  10. Yeah, depends on the set. I liked the Geonosis walker, so I built all those. The ITT / Stormie pack had a load of really useful pieces, so I MOC'd a bigger transport and used the rest of the parts for stuff. Built a couple of FO turrets, a couple of Resistance speeders and a couple of Kashyyyk speeders, but mostly parted the rest out.
