  1. ru·mor

    ˈro͞omər/

    noun

noun: rumour; plural noun: rumours; noun: rumor; plural noun: rumors

    1. a currently circulating story or report of uncertain or doubtful truth.

"they were discussing the rumors of a new sets"

This is a thread for rumors.

Not wishlists...Not for shooting down information that has yet to be confirmed...Not arguments; who here again actually works for LEGO? Keep this thread on track please!

So, if anyone would like to add news, or rumors that they can confirm with a source, by all means, feel free to post them. However, if this thread continues on it's current path...Eurobricks might be short a few members real quick.

    Cool?

    Super!

I think there are two basic issues here:

    A) The tone of this message is pretty disrespectful. Has anyone ever had the dictionary quoted at them in a way that doesn't feel belittling? And the attempt to lock down any discussion that isn't a confirmed rumor in mostly obsolete discussion threads (we've seen the winter & summer waves of 2015 and so the majority of future releases/rumors will be about 2016 sets) by jumping DIRECTLY to threats of making Eurobricks 'short a few members' seems a bit draconian to me.

    B) Should discussion happen in these threads when there are NO current rumors (and none likely to appear anytime soon)? I think people speculating about future sets and disecting the previous ones is pretty normal/expected for what phase we are currently in. Because the cycle of lego rumors/discussion is pretty well know and predictable at this point, it goes: Wild Speculation -> Vague rumors from sources (maybe set names, prices, or # of sets) -> Leaks (doesn't always happen but TLG is sad when it does) -> Previews (pictures of the sets either from retailers or toy fairs or sometimes news outlets) -> Release and reports of being found in the wild -> Thoughts/Opinions on sets -> Wild Speculation of next phase. We go through this cycle twice a year between the winter and summer waves (of course there are exceptoins like collectible minifigs and Lego store exclusives that have different release schedules) and every time we get past the new release and into the 'what comes next?' phase the lack of any info or real rumors leads to people making educated guesses and talking about what they'd like from their Lego.

Wild speculation and wish lists during 'Toyfair' season is probably much less tolerable. I know when I'm scrolling through looking for new pics I know are due soon, I don't love scrolling through 2 pages of 'Wow, this is really gonna hurt my wallet!'. But right now, when news/rumors of the next Jurrasic World sets is EXTREMELY unlikely, I don't see the issue. I feel like the mods are trying to fight human nature here. Is it really better to just sit around indefintely and wait quietly hoping for the next round of rumors to begin?

  2. I do like Beast Boy and Starfire, though I do wish she were comic based (there are less sexual versions of her in the comics)

By the time these come out (in August?) her costume will actually be pretty similar to the comics. Starting in June Starfire will get her own comic and a costume change which looks very similar to her Teen Titans cartoon look:

  3. I also like the new layered skirt mold that the platinum-haired elf is wearing, and hope to maybe see it in future Friends sets in different colors. :)

I'm sure we'll be seeing more of these Elves skirts. I already see one in the summer Friends rockstar subtheme, I think. The girl holding the guitar:

  4. I'm doubtful we'll ever seen a location outside of Gotham City, unless it is tied to a movie. Everything we've see so far has been tied to Batman or his villains: The Batcave, Arkham Asylum, and Joker's hideout (twice). Though perhaps once they've explored all the well know locations in Gotham once or twice, they might be willing to make other places.

  5. Um, we are grown adults, correct? I mean, this may just be me, but my family doesn't buy me toys for my birthdays anymore.

I'm in my 30's and my parents still get me presents for my birthday and Christmas. They usually ask if there is anything I want and I will often tell them what Lego sets I'm interested in and they will get them for me. I'm not sure why anyone would ever put an embargo on toys for birthdays.

On another note, I'm super bumed that we are getting a second amusement park-based Joker hideout with mostly previously released supervillans. There are so many other places in the DC mythos that I'd rather see first. In no particular order:

    The Daily Planet

    Superman's fortress of Solitude

    Wayne Manor

    Any Justice League HQ

Themyscira, Island home to Wonder Woman and her fellow Amazons

S.T.A.R. Labs / Project Cadmus secret research facility

    Titans Tower

    LexCorp HQ / research labs

    GCPD HQ

Most of these places could support diverse casts of characters (especially if they were under attack) and play features.

  6. Another great scene and fun story! I hope the burn victim doesn't become an angry, bitter person intent on bringing down the corporation responsible for his disfigurement through acts of sabotage and villany.

  7. I saw Aira's Sleigh box catalogue picture in my local shop.

It's quite big and long, has TWO Pegasi with white wings and azure-blue baby dragon!

Awesome! Very happy to hear about the white wings and baby dragon sounds cool too!

  8. I just saw the new UCS Helicarrier and I really like the new microfigures (painted versions of the trophy). I think a fairy / sprite faction using the new microfigs would be a really exciting new area for castle fantasy and open up lots of new build options. So Lego designers reading this...uhh, get on that!

  9. I think the new statue minifig is a big improvement over the previous minifigs. I'm sure we'll be seeing more of them. Antman will certainly have one in his upcomming set. Maybe we'll even see some DC minifig 'toys' included in the Ideas Big Bang Theory set as the original project included some oldstyle minifigs as decorations.

Personally, I'd love to see some sprite/fairy minifigs included in some fantsy Castle sets.

  10. ... but it's possible this is from Aira's Pegasus Sleigh and the other horse and the sleigh are off camera.

With the new picture, it's clear this is only from the Sky Castle set, so hopefully Aira's Sleigh will have horses with white wings (I think the ones in the show's teaser had white wings). Although the look of this one is growing on me.

  11. I can see a pegasus in the pic of the castle. It has golden wings, hopefully because it's Skyra's special mount. I hope the other set has white pegasus wings that I can use on a regular lego horse, but it's possible this is from Aira's Pegasus Sleigh and the other horse and the sleigh are off camera.

  12. Those space shuttles look awesome. The astronauts look very similar to the ones from 2011. I wonder if they are placeholders or if they decieded to keep the same look. I thought the 2011 minifigs were very stylish, so I'd be very pleased if they were kept the same basic look.

Also loving that deep sea helicopter. The divers (best seen on the box art in the background) have a very different color scheme than the one we saw earlier in the cube.

  13. I would LOVE to see a return to the fantasy era castle, so I hope this is true. The fantasy ear castle was during my dark ages, so I missed out on them. But I've browsed the sets online and they look wonderful; that perfect mix between detailed, handsome models, fun play features, and exciting minifigs.

It seems reasonable, as the Castle 2013 and Hobbit/LOtR lines are almost certainly finished. I'd be very surprised if we went all of 2015 and 2016 without seeing SOME kind of Castle/fantasy line.

  14. So, since the Swamp Police Starter Set, Demoltion Starter Set, and the Fire Starter Set all have a vehicle in them, I wonder if/what the Space Starter Set and the Deep Sea Starter Set will have vehicles/what vehicles they will have. I'm thinking maybe a little moon buggy for the Space one but I have no idea what the other one could have.

Probably a little underwater jet like this (8072):

  15. That's like asking if Chima or Ninjago are only for boys.

Or if Lego sets with a reccomended age of 5 - 12 printed on them are only for kids.

Anyone can and should buy and enjoy whatever they like.

Agreed, I wish Lego would do a better job of being inclusive, especially with their advertising. If they had both girls and boys playing with Friends, Ninjago, City, and Elves in their ads this would be less of an issue. Research has shown that 76% of kids who see boys and girls in commercials are likely to think that toy is for everyone.

  16. I'm not a fan of the short sleeves on the divers, as they limit them to warm water and I was hoping to get some divers to go ice diving and carry out under water research at my Antarctic base. I suppose swapping the arms for long sleeves shouldn't be terribly difficult if I can find some matching colors, but it would have opened the divers up to more uses if they had long sleeves. I'm sure Lego is eager to show off their new short sleeves design though.
