  1. Another great starfighter. I love the color scheme and the two legs add a nice little organic touch to it. Also, great details for the cockpit interieur. As a whole, it's a great design, although the rear end of the mid-section looks a bit cut off.

    Well done, thire5.

  2. Great starfighter, thire5. I like the forward-swept wings and the cockpit really is something on its own. Due to the two big engines and their position, the whole machines reminds a bit of a A-10 Thunderbolt II.

    Well done.

  3. I started with Lego relatively late, mostly because I was born on the wrong side of the wall and there was no Lego available until this particular building was torn down.

Anyway, probably the first set I ever got was this one:

I loved it dearly until I got this:

    6923.jpg

    which is my alltime favourite.

Sometime in between the two above I somehow aquired this one:

although I don't remember how I got it. I'm sure I did not buy or get it as a birthday or christmas gift. Maybe it just popped into existince one day because I really, really wanted it

I still have all three of them, including Minifigs, but, unfortunately, without instructions.

  4. Went to the local Lego Shop and grabbed the

    852771 Minifigure Ice Cube Tray

40017 Easter Basket (which was on sale) and the

    55001 Universe Rocket.

At the cash desk the girl told me that with the Universe Rocket I can get the Lego Universe Game for free and, on top of that, with the game, I also get the exclusive Astronaut Minifigure for free. That's what I call an offer you can't refuse.

  5. Awesome scene, Masked Builder. Sweet little bug creature and great use of the army men MF stands for a trail. And for some reason I love your surveillance camera design.

Also, a great combination of modern day power functions and ancient light and sound bricks.

  6. Hm, not bad, actually. Except for the colors of course, but I'll ignore that. I like that you added some play features to this ship. The wings in the back, or whatever it is the engines are placed on, might be a bit to thick and blocky, in my opinion. But the docking hatch is a nice idea.

  7. "Also sprach Zarathustra", a tone peom by Richard Strauss, inspired by Nietzsches work of the same name. It's probably best known for it's introduction (called "Sonnenaufgang", sunrise) which was used in Kubricks "2001: A Space Odyssey".

  8. Great ship, fredde. I really like the riveted look of the armor plates. And the interiour, like the busy bridge and the ready room of the marines, is just great. Also, the mechs are well designed and I like the idea, and your realization, of the UAV.

    Very well done.

  9. Oh boy, I think I just ... uhm, never mind that.

Anyway, that is an awsome lot of Lego Space. And to think that it is only 60% complete, I can hardly wait to see the finished diorama.

Hm, your M-Tron Celestial Forager seems to have the wrong wheels.

  10. Nice work, CptMugwash. I really like the design of the gondola and the details at the engine, that pressure or temperature indicator, the boiler and lever. The color scheme is also well chosen, with a nice wood-and-brass look. Only the balloon looks a bit to blocky for me.

    Anyway, well done.

  11. Read about that one already. There is an article on spiegel.de (german only, sorry, but with a video (also german only)).

It has a 5inch OLED touchscreen, a multitouch pad on the backside, motion sensors, two cameras (one on each side), Wi-Fi, UMTS, two analog controllers and whatnot...

Games will be available on cartridges, (so no backwards compatiblity with the PSP, apparently) or via Playstation Network. No words about battery life yet or when it will be available (the article says that depends on software availability).

  12. Well, I have a DSlite and a DSi, so I'll also get the 3DS.

It has some interesting features, with the 3D screen only the most prominent one. Also very interesting are the SpotPass and StreetPass modes and the tilt sensors/gyros (I can see a lot of physics/casual games for that coming). I don't know yet what to think of the 3D video service. Somehow the idea of watching 2h long movies on that small screen isn't that appealing, even if it's in 3D. Well, we'll see.

Another thing that worries me is the Wi-Fi configuration. I'm really not keen on using WEP anymore. Sure the DSi had WPA already, but it's useless if the games don't (or can't) support it. I really hope they found a way to make WPA available to DS games (I won't hold my breath, though).

And a better use of the cameras would be nice too. Maybe a little video editing software... imagine brickmovies in 3D!

Anyway, I'll get this device as soon as it's availabe, Zelda alone is reason enough for me.
