LEGO in Film & TV: Index of Appearances
CarrollFilms replied to Izzy's topic in General LEGO Discussion
It has been ages since I've seen Big, or Flushed Away. I'll need to watch for those parts then. Thanks for sharing. -
Very well made, but it seemed like it was shot mostly in the dark, and the contrast made it even harder to see. Other than that it was animated. Keep up the good work.

I usually go 6, sometimes 7 if the diesel is rather big. But 6 is my most common use.

I love the Santa Fe train, back when they were selling them I should've bought one, now I feel guilty for never buying one. But any day I would take the Santa Fe over any train.

Thanks for the help guys, I'm going to switch my Emerald Night to a PF then. If the motors still work, I'll end up putting them underneath the Maersk train, and have it haul 4 cars.

Hello everybody out there on the EB forums. I have a problem with two of my 9V motors, back at BW 2011 (around 2 weeks ago) my motors would pulse and then stop. From that I took it to a 9V expert from NILTC and they told me that it was just overheating from pushing the Emerald night tender and coal car + pulling 2 passenger cars. After running a few tests in my basement I could smell the burning plastic from the motor. I even tried it without the emerald night, the motors still pulse when alone on the track. The tests were the ones followed test #1. run each motor individually (pulsing) test #2. run each motor with a passenger car (overheating after 30 minutes or so) test #3. have each motor pull or push a small load of freight (same result from test #2) test #4. have each motor rest for 24 hours before using again (after about 5 minutes, the motors began to smell but not overheat) Please help me guys, I have 4 trains now and they are soon to all be 9V powered, but if necessary I will be forced to switch them to RC. From what i've heard, RC is more powerful and has more torque/speed. On the other hand ME model 9V tracks are very good, I might have to pick myself some of them up online. Thanks so much for your Help -CarrollFilms

I loved seeing this in person at BW2011, CopMike, I love the Maersk Blue bricks and the amazing monorail. You should be awarded for best monorail design!

It looks amazing, I think we did a great job this year. I didn't know how long our death ray UFO contraption was going to last, I was hoping it would've fallen over during public hours. Congrats to all of the EB team that was at BW 2011, we did an awesome job, can't wait to see you all next year!

7 wide seems better than 6 wide now, and I love the stick shift in the center, keep up the great work!!!

Is Brickfilming dying?
CarrollFilms replied to Emperor Claudius Rome's topic in Brick Flicks & Comics
with technology newer and newer coming out, there is always something new or better that can be put into a brickfilm. I for one have taken nearly two whole months to make a film because of all the new special FX i can now do with AE. Remember, majority of some Brickfilmers are in still in school. -
I fully agree with that statement, but seeing how the passenger train and cargo train came out close to each other release date wise; I though they would've made this set just a little bit more detailed. But after seeing what they did with the Maersk Diesel, I think they might have made this for the kids, just like you said.

there are two main things you need on him. 1. A Fez because fezzes are cool, and #2. is a bow tie, bow tie's are cool. But I really like your Tardis. looks just like one from the Brickworld 2011 convention. keep up the great work!!!

This is smart, and very good job well done, but the one thing that I might disagree with is the SNOT building, but that's up to you. I have my train elevated on the right side of my street, but it is very tricky because I have 2 other trains running on the grass. I love the vintage scenes by the way. keep up the great work!!!

I completely agree with this, the only thing that people should buy more of for there trains are the RC parts. It might just be me, but I think that the RC train motor is more powerful and has more torque, which helps the train carry more. The only bad thing is the power consumption, thankfully there are rechargeable batteries. Back to PF, I bet that within a decade PF will either be continued or improved with a new name.

This is a very great job, I love how you made the stairs, Keep up the great work!!!

I don't think TLG would make another train set after releasing the Maersk train set a few months ago. The train doesn't look half bad for a diesel but, I'm sticking with the Maersk.

Thanks for the review, just ordered my first box of ME track. From the reviews, this track will work GREAT!!!

I have 9 Trains including the Emerald Night and Maersk Train and Railway express, all the other trains are custom engines. Most of them are diesel (who doesn't love diesel) but I have 1 city and 1 Steam train, nothing to big to handle.
-
you are aware you can do that with PF's themselves
-
You guys did a great job with the display at Brickworld
-
I just got back from Brickworld 2011 (Lego Convention) and I didn't hear anything about PF being discontinued. I talked to the designer of the Maersk Train and Caf'e Corner plus the Grand Emporium. I never heard anything about PF's being discontinued, just in case, I'm going to buy some PF's I had 2 of my 9V motors die at BW 2011.

Brickworld 2011 is coming up, prepare for some freakishly awesome pics from it!!!
-
The layout is just amazing. I love the mertroliner out of all of the trains.
-
Very detailed buildings, I really like the Diesel train. I'm deciding to either bring the EN or bring my custom diesel train to Brickworld 2011

MOC: Rapid Transit Underground Train
CarrollFilms replied to Sheriff von Snottingham's topic in LEGO Train Tech
This is very good MOC of a train with awesome SNOT work. If I were you, I'd add a PF motor as well, so 9V runs for a little while, and then run the PF. Keep up the great work!!!!
