This is becoming a beautiful ship mr. Bonaparte! I really like the sleek line of it. I love the way the stern with the windows is integrated in the ships hull. It looks like you have to demolish some more Sopwith Camel planes to reach the desired number of brown latticed windowpanes.. *sweet* Keep us up to date with the proceedings!

I now vaguely recall this set being sold in Dutch toystores, together with the cookies I think it was back in 1995. I saw it back then, didn't like the design of the set that much and the fact that you 'd have to eat all those cookies of a sort I didn't like, so for considerable reasons I left it right on the shelf..... :'-( I would love to own it now, but I'll pass this auction because of the high price, shipping rates, customs and so on.

I bought this set on a Dutch website called www.Marktplaats.nl, it is a popular site to sell things in Holland, people sell everything from real Ferrari's to pony's and from real-estate to electric razors. The assortment lego is amazing, about 300 ads per day with a total always between 10.000 and 15.000. Lots of useless things obviously, but I have bought some rather interesting lego sets and parts on this site including my Skull's Eye Schooner in box for 80 euro's... :-)

Three BNSF's, you must be a wealthy cuddly tiger! :-D I bought some more Lego today, of the internet so it hasn't arrrived yet: I bought the big firetruck out of the new 7945 firestation (just the truck with the firechief in the driversseat), I already have the firestation and bought the truck for parts to build a regular fire-engine in the same new style. A bit like the 7239 truck but MUCH more beautiful.

LOVL (Laughing Out Very Loud!), great film, great music :-D Thanks for sharing.

Sure, I can see how it's made, but I just noticed a crossbeam in the latticed window that seems a bit strange, because all the other latticed windows I have seen have none, see?

Brickset slower than a snail in glue
simonwillems replied to mutex's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Good point here! Browsing Brickset isn't so much fun anymore, having to wait for ages for any page to load. :'-( -
Beautiful work on this Islander layout! *y* I especially like the way you used the 6256 sail to make some sort of tent. Those baseplates are very useful in creating a small island in the middle, I did something like it myself some time ago and it really works! You sure have lots of islander minifigs...

I thought I'd just post it in the pirateforum as this is not my MOC, so not My Own Creation but someone else's...
-
They represent no one in particular, I just wanted to show what one can do with a combination of starwars, iceplanet and pirate lego....
-
There is no need to rebuild it either for me, I live just 200 metres away from this magnificient building with the ships replica in front of it :'-)

I have done some shopping today, I bought and Two cute little cars from the good old eighties, I bought them both secondhand but in really good as new condition in a little legostore in Alkmaar (Holland) for 8 euro's in total. Furthermore since it had been discounted 10 percent, and because I like the set I bought set 4939

It looks beautiful, however I prefer MOC's made out of actual Lego-bricks instead of virtual ones. I did some MLcad'ing myself a couple of years ago, but nothing beats the actual hobby.

That is so cool! Thanks for sharing, I like the way the car blows up and changes color.... :-D ~Edit: Hey I'm a Citizen now! *sweet* ~

Amsterdam is long gone, after this project I built my city layout with monorail and that city has also been dissassembled after I had it built up for a year..... The fort was meant to be some sort of fortified navy supply-building, like the building that houses the Maritime Museum these days in the real city was (picture). So that explains the wheels and anchors, I have lots of spare wheels and anchors from the Divers series so "no ships were harmed during the building of this MOC" *sweet*

Hello to you Brazilian Vassal! And welcome.

Wow, thirteen years old and a captain already... Time flies.... :-)
-
You are absolutely right! I did'nt have so many bricks in the same color at the time (still haven't actually 8-| ) so I put it all together and made houses in various colors....
-
Hi Simon (that makes two of us, I have also been given this beautiful name *sweet* ) and welcome to our forum. I'm sure you will enjoy your time here.

We have a saying for this in Holland: "Jong geleerd oud gedaan" (Translation) "When one learns something at young age one will master it when older"

Great work on the index Mr. Bonaparte! I posted another land based pirate MOC just now, to add to the index if possible :)

What're your favorite and least favorite Star Wars minifigures?
simonwillems replied to Darthking623's topic in LEGO Star Wars
That has to be this one: I would like to buy a few dozen of those white helmet things one day and build a police riot squad, very expensive pieces however.... -
This was the first set I was given even before I was born.... I still love the "not really complicated" design. *sweet*

I don't know if there is a peeron inventory number already for this piece as it is rather new. It's not grey, by the way, but metallic looking....
